A Very Magnificent Makeup Haul

I’m trying to be good, with Christmas upcoming and it’s the time of year where almost everyone has a birthday for the next three months, but equally it’s the best time of year for makeup. Limited edition packaging, bundles of beauty, gift sets and mini sizes galore. I’ve already shared my MAC haul of the bits I picked up in the Snowball Collection last week but I bought some more bits at the end of October and I’ve been waiting for one delivery to come hand delivered from the US and I can now finally talk about everything I’ve picked up over the past few weeks.Beauty Bay

Frozen Reign Collection // Buy Here

iconLast year Beauty Bay did some amazing sets of makeup filled with some of their most popular brands in a ‘look in a bag’ type approach as there was one in particular which had exact items that were on my list to get and it ended up being amazing value. Included was Makeup Geek Americano, a dark brown warm matte that’s been on my to get list from MUG since I started buying MUG! Juvia’s Place Angola shadow pan, I’ve been eyeing the Juvias Place palettes  but having never tried the formula before I’ve been unsure as to whether to take the gamble, I’m really excited to have one to try. I had no idea the JP pans were so huge, look at it compared to the makeup geek!

Laura Geller Gelato Swirl highlighter was on my list to get at the start of the year and it was out of stock everywhere I looked for months, I finally swatched it last month and it went on my wishlist to get, I’m glad I held off buying it as alone this is normally £16.50 alone, it’s worth noting that this is a deluxe sample size – the website doesn’t state that it is (I’ve voiced my complaints already!). Last up was the Dose of Colors liquid lip in Mood – I picked up a lovely bright purple in this formula over summer and I’ve wanted to get another one and I don’t have a liquid lip in this shade but I thought it would be perfect for autumn and winter.

This set was £25, amazing value IMO – even with the travel sized highlighter. They have a few different versions of these sets online and all under £30 I think they’d make fantastic gifts.

Mario Badescu Seaweed Cleansing Soap // Buy Here

I really don’t think I need to talk about this product any more than I have done in the past, I’ve written not one, but two reviews on this cleanser, one of which is called – “Is this skin magic?“. Smells amazing, feels amazing on the skin and works some kind of witchcraft on my skin. I’ve just ran out of my second full size bottle of this and I don’t dare be without it. (Guess I forgot to put it in this set of photos!)

Stila Stay All Day Liquid Eyeliner // Buy Here

iconMy Illamasqua liquid liner is finally on it’s last legs after a year of hard service, and whilst I adore it I was really curious to try this one out from Stila as I know it’s well loved within the beauty community. I know this is going to dry up quicker than my Illasmasqua being a pen style product rather than a dip ink pot, but I want to see what all the fuss is about!

Morphe 25A Copper Spice Palette // Buy Here

iconThis came as a total whim purchase after they put it as 30% off taking it down to £13.30, I’ve wanted to try this for a while, I’ve swatched this palette in other private label forms (if you didn’t know there’s not anything unique about the majority of Morphe’s palettes, they’re private labelled from Crown Brushes and other places). The price drop is what convinced me to get it now! If you’re a friend of family prepare to be offered makeup palettes, I need a serious declutter of the ones I’m not reaching for! You’ll notice this is already swatched, I couldn’t wait for some of the other stuff to arrive any longer. My palette arrived quite scratched, I would have complained but it wasn’t that obvious until I tried to clean it which just bought the scratches out more.

Stila Magnificent Metals Written in the Stars Trio // Buy Here
I saw these on a press release back in August and I’ve been anxiously awaiting their arrival since. I’ve had this for a good few weeks now but had been awaiting the big six set to release. This features 3 minis of the my favourite product of the year – I don’t own any of these shades but had wanted to try all three of them so it couldn’t have been a better set to get. If you have wanted to try these this trio of three is just over what one full size would cost, not everyone will use these as frequently as I do (I basically wear them daily). It’s a fantastic set to use infrequently!

Sephora

Stila Magnificent Metals in In a Firenze // Not Available in the UK

I saw this online and hadn’t seen anything about this shade, when I did some digging I discovered it wasn’t a shade available in the UK and I couldn’t really see any swatches of it either. I decided to take a gamble and ordered it as it looked like a shade that would be up my alley, it’s as gorgeous firey terracotta.

Stila Magnificent Metals in Into the Blue // Buy Here

I’ve been waiting about six months for these to launch in the UK and gave up waiting and ordered it one in my Sephora order. They then finally became available in the UK. The coloured ones from the mermaid collection are gorgeous duochrome shimmer shades. The shade I fell in love with looking at swatches was In The Blue, which was a gorgeous bright indigo blue with a purple shift. Pure Love already for this shade.

Stila Magnificent Metals Eye for Elegance Set // Not Available in the UK… yet?

I got fed up of waiting to see if this was going to launch in the UK, so this was the cause of the Sephora splurge. This features 3 of the minis of glittery magnificent metals – one of which is a shade I own, one of which is a shade unavailable in the UK, and 3 new Shimmer and Glow shades of which Stila have confirmed are exclusive to this set and won’t be releasing. This whole set tone wise is totally my bag, I’d seen these swatched and reviewed on Temptalia and decided it was gonna be mine! Stila have promoed it coming to the UK, but I can’t seem to find it anywhere, lots of places have the three set, but the six set hasn’t appeared anywhere. I’ll update you if I spot it!

Bite Amuse Bouche Mini in Chutney & Samples

I got a deluxe sample of the Bite liquid lipsticks alongside my order, this colour is gorgeous and it’s another one I’ll be adding to my liquid lip comparison post. I’ve worn it a few times already and I might have to get some more of these, I really like them.

Samples wise I picked the It Cosmetics Illumination CC Cream, I haven’t been that impressed with the CC cream I’ve tried from them, so I’m hoping this will be better for me. I almost bought something from Milk, I’ve been really interested to try them, I was hoping for a good minis set but they didn’t have any, I settled with their Blur Liquid Foundations in a selection of shades, this sounds like it might be good for my skin. Lastly was the Berdouers Somei Yoshimo perfume, I definitely didn’t choose this one, I chose another but never mind, It’ll get used!

W7 Outlet Store

Stila Magnificent Metals Metallic Peach

I was keen to get another one of these to compare against the newer formula of MM’s, these had been reduced from £30 to £5 so I couldn’t say no to it. I already have Kitten in this formula and decided on Metallic Peach too.

Stila Perfecting Concealer
I’m running really close to the end of a few concealers and a lot of the other ones I have are going to be too dark coming into winter. This would have been cheaper than buying one at Boots, just £3.75 so I thought it was worth a go!

W7 Metal Flash Eyeliner in Iridescence

These were new in to the outlet and at £3.99 I couldn’t resist, espeially as they looked like a dupe for the Urban Decay Heavy Metal Liners. This is an ididesent glitter that mainly flashes green. I’ve tried it over black so far and it does look pretty snazzy. They also had a silver and gold, I’m tempted to get the gold for Christmas time.

La Riche Directions in ???

Last up I picked up some more directions dye, I’m feeling a change and have something in mind. I’m going to try and do it at home to save going to the hairdressers and having my hair bleached more if I can as it’s in such healthy condition at the moment. You’ll see some pictures on instagram if it goes right or wrong, but I’ll keep you guessing on the colour for now!

Primark

PS Shadow Shields

I asked my friends to keep their eye out for these ages ago and completely forgot that Molly had managed to snag me a couple of packets in Nottingham in September! My local Primark has a terrible beauty section and I stood no chance in finding them there. I’m shit at winged liner and I’m hoping to use these to create nice crisp lines.

I think I can safely say, I’m all shopped out (at least for myself for now). I’m planning on doing a comparison post now I basically have all of the Magnificent Metals, you can tell that they’re my favourites by just how crazy I’ve gone for them!

Let me know what you’ve been buying recently in the comments, or what you’ve added to your Christmas Wishlists.

The sparkly makeup bag is divine! The Stila eye colours are all beautiful and I’m glad you love wearing them! I ordered the Copper Spice palette for Christmas (my brother is paying me back) and it arrived today, I didn’t get it on Beauty Bay, I got it on Cloud 10 Beauty. I’m pretty sure mine wasn’t scratched, it was boxed and wrapped well. Chutney looks like a lovely Christmas shade x

It is, it’s a really non scratchy soft glitter too! It’ll be used to photograph stuff on in future I’m sure!
Mine was all boxed and bubble wrapped too, I could see a few straight away but it didn’t look that bad until I attempted to clean it which just bought it out more, unfortunately by that point I’d already used the palette. ๐Ÿ™

Aaw Stila๐Ÿ˜ I need their new glitters, the new shades are gorgeous. It’s so sad we never get things here or we’re so behind. X

I really want to try โ€‹some of the Mario products! I’ve heard people raving about them so there must be something good about them ahaha

I’ve only tried a handful so far, this cleanser is some kind of witchcraft though! My skin now flips out without it!

I’m so envious you got your hands on the Stila sets! I started looking into them maybe a month ago and they were already sold out EVERYWHERE. Every store I went to said that they sold out within three days. They’re so beautiful!

    • November 15, 2017 / 10:19 am

Keep looking, I know my friend Sophie who got the six set for me had her Sephora order cancelled so had to go a hunt for them in stores – she asked in one Sephora and they had them out the back but not on the floor! They’re worth the search if they can get them xx

      • November 16, 2017 / 3:18 am

Definitely they would be worth it! I shall continue my search, haha.

So many amazing things! I finally tried the Stila eyeliner, and it just didn’t work for me. It worked fine the first time, but afterwards it was really dried up and just not as pigmented. Not sure what went wrong.

    Wow, definitely a magnificent haul!
That Morphe palettes looks really good – I like the clear cover, reminds me of Viseart palettes.
I have high hopes for Beauty Bay’s Black Friday deals! I’m probably going to just wait until Black Friday to go nuts…

That morphe palette is so pretty! I’d be curious to know what you think of the eye shields. Do they really work? Just a gimmick? I’ve seen them but haven’t tried them.

This truly is a magnificent haul! I’ve loved reading what you bought ๐Ÿ˜€ I absolutely adore the look of the stila eye for elegance set! I’m all about that glittery/shimmery eye! And so many beautiful shades too ๐Ÿ™‚
