Pink Parcel – November 2017

Pink Parcel

It’s been a long while since I reviewed the Pink Parcel Subscription… August 2015 in fact, but I was curious to try the service again* when they got in touch for doing an advert on Instagram. We all know I love beauty boxes.

For those who don’t know, Pink Parcel is a package designed to come just before your monthly visitor and contains a mixture of items to make that time of the month a bit more bearable. If you read my old reviews of this box there’s no hiding that I do have a bit of a problem with the concept that all women need tea and chocolate to get through their period (I need chocolate all month – ha!), but regardless this box offers good value for money and some people will love this as a monthly treat, if I take the whole period concept out of it I like it a whole lot more – I’m probably in the minority here, but I was willing to give it a second try a few years on!

With each month’s Pink Parcel you receive Tea, Something Sweet, Your Choice of Tampons / Pads or a mix (with a choice of brands and types available) as well as a good dose of beauty products too. The packaging of this is discreet and is designed to fit through a standard letterbox so you won’t be left hanging when the postie takes it back to the post office!

I was just sent their most popular selections for the advert, but I received a selection of different Always pads in different sizes to see you through the different stages of your period as well as pads for the evening.

Something Sweet & Tea

Cocoba Salted Toffee Truffles
I love some some salted caramel flavour, but I’ve never tried salted toffee, and definitely not in truffle form. These were totally delicious, rich and mouthwateringly good. I managed to share this two pack with Ben.

Cuppanut Tea
I completely forgot to take a picture of the tea bag before I made the tea up for the main image at the top, it was a coconut, turmeric and ginger tea, and it smelt so strong.

Pink Parcel – Beauty Products

Lipcote // RRP £3.99
A classic, I know I have some of this somewhere but I also know that I’ve had it for a long time and it probably needs throwing once once I do come across it. I’m sure 99% of people here know what Lipcote is and is for, but back in the days before liquid lipstick this was a way to get a long wearing lip. I used to use this a lot at uni for nights out, which tells you how old the bottle is.

Swiss Clinic Santizing Spray // RRP £18.99
I was very confused as to what this was to start with, first off I thought it was some kind of toilet seat spray. Thank god for the little booklet with descriptions and prices – it’s to spray onto your hands if you need to touch your face when out and about to make sure they’re clean, or spray onto makeup tools to make sure they’re sanitised. It’s definitely not something I would buy at £18.00, but it may come in handy for travel so I’ll keep it aside.

Nail HQ All In One Multi Solution // RRP £6.99
Not a brand that I’ve heard of before, but always a product that comes in handy and not one I currently have! This is a nail oil designed to nourish the nail and make them stronger, I’m currently going bare nailed more than I’m going painted due to not having time to do them/wait for them to dry etc, so I’ll pop this my my bedside to encourage them to at least look a bit nicer whilst they’re bare.

Beautaniq Beauty Radiant Glow Mask // RRP $6.00/£4.44
They’re killing it with the unknown brands for me this month. I’m never going to deplete my face mask collection when beauty boxes keep me topped up at the moment! This has a really promising ingredients list that sounds like it should really deliver on the Radiant glow being very fruit enzyme based. I look forward to trying this, the packaging is sweet too!

The Beauty Crop Glamazon Stick // RRP £9.00.
Last but not least, is another new to me brand, The Beauty Crop with their Glamazon Stick. This is a really subtle highlighting stick which is formulated with cocoa butter giving it a really balmy feel. I don’t think I’ll end up using this on the cheeks as it’s a bit too subtle for my taste, but I think this will look pretty in the inner corner, over the eye if in a rush or also on the brow bone.

The theme of the beauty products in this month’s Pink Parcel was party prep, I think they had a really good selection of items and had a bit of something for everyone, I think it would have been nice to see a lip colour accompany the lipcote but that’s my only real comment. When I was subscribed in the past the boxes had three beauty items so it was cool to see five included. The cost of the box is £12.99 with the beauty products totting up to be worth over £42 + the cost of the pads, sweet treats at tea it’s actually a box which is very good value for money. Add to that you can get 20% off your first box for subscribing this month.

I always like when beauty boxes have some other little things as well. Like My Little Box, I feel like it is just tiring to always have only cosmetics/beauty products.

Did you hear that Birchbox has a pop-up shop in London until the end of January, where you can go and build your own box? Quite exciting to choose your own box contents, I will probably try to find some time to get there.

I never got on with Bichbox when I was subscribed, I always felt like I ended up with the selection of products I didn’t want as they have so much variety in each box. I had seen they had a pop up shop though, I’ll definitely check it out if I’m close by – as being able to pick would be way more appealing.

I used to love My Little box but found that really tiring and repetitive in the end and threw most of the non-beauty items away each month after over two years of subscription!

This is a cool idea for a subscription box & I have never heard of it before. But I agree, I need chocolate and tea all month long!! X

I’m not that sure about the period based monthly subscription boxes with the whole chocolate and tea thing, it does seem to be that whole stereotype, but it does seem like a good box and actually useful! Seems a good range of products in this month’s. I’ve never actually got a monthly subscription box, I know I’d just end up stockpiling the samples as I have enough in boxes anyway, but this one actually seems good value for the price and you know the basics idea of what you’ll get each time with the sweet treat and tea bit alongside the beauty things.

Yep I have such mixed feelings on it, I hate the idea that women are PMSing monsters tamed by chocolate.
But you do get good value for it and the products inside are decent, if I take that concept away I like the subscription a lot better!

It looks a pretty good box. I quite like getting some brands I don’t know. I find beauty boxes often use brands like Benefit and include them weekly, so it’s a bit boring x

I completely agree with you brands like this you can’t find as freebies in magazines, ooh great mini of rollerlash, that’ll be in glamour next month!

๐Ÿ˜‚ That and Caudalie. I get their skincare in every beauty box, calendar etc x

Oh my gosh, flashback to the 90’s with that Lipcote!! I didn’t even know it still existed! Does it still make your lips feel all crunchy?! x

I guess it’s always good to get sanitary products shipped to you on a monthly basis – I like Always products! ๐Ÿ˜›
That Swiss Clinic Santizing Spray sounds useful but why so expensive for what is basically just rubbing alcohol!
That sheet mask looks good – I like fruit enzymes in face masks.

This is such a cute little package! Lipcote is a serious blast from the past, I used to use this at uni too!! .xo
