Hotter Fits at Queensgate Shopping Centre

A few weeks ago Hotter kindly invited me along to their store in Queensgate in Peterborough to celebrate their Fitting Fortnight. Hotter is a shop I walk past every time I go to Peterborough, but I’ve always discounted them as shoes for… a lady who is a bit older shall we say? Stepping into the store it became evident of just how wrong I was and picking a pair to take away proved more of a challenge than I thought it might be!

Stepping in I was greeted by Prince Charming and invited to take a pew on their fitting Throne, a gorgeous luxury gold throne fit for a Cinderella looking for her perfect match. It’s been a good few years since I had my feet fitted properly, and by a few years I mean maybe 15 – my feet have stayed virtually the same size since I was 11, a huge size 8 for an 11 year old, but it was nice to confirm what I already knew, that my feet were on the slightly narrow side and my left foot is half a size smaller than the other. Depending on shoe type I could probably fit in either a 7 1/2 or an 8.

I was served by several friendly ladies, but mainly by Jade who gave me a tour of the store showing me the different sections and styles that I might like. They had a great range of shoes, from dressier heels, shoe-boots as well as some lovely smart flats. I also tried on my first pair of brogues which became a serious contender for coming home with me.

My favourite flat shoes became the ‘Hamlet’ shoes (above £72), which came in a lovely Tan, Black, Chocolate, Plum and Black Suede. These were so, so comfortable and I loved the dressier style of these and thought they’d be a great pair to go with both jeans, and dresses and skirts. I’ve been thinking about these since and would like to go back for the black suede pair.

From shoes I meandered onto the Boots section and absolutely fell in love with the Briony Riding Boots (above RRP £149.00), truth be told they were my favourites in the store but sadly they didn’t have them in a 7.5 or 8 to try on so I was only able to admire them from a distance. These look like the perfect pair of comfy winter boots to spend all day walking in, with a comfortable elastic panelled back and lovely leather wrap detail around the heel.

So what did I go for in the end? I ended up picking the Lotty Boots (RRP £89.00), I tend to live in biker boots day to day in Autumn and Winter and I fell in love with the style of these. yet again I saw them as a pair that would go with both dresses, skirts and jeans. I had trouble deciding which colour to go for – online they have a couple of different colours, but in my store I had a choice of the black and the tan pairs.

The black pair I was immediately drawn to first, black boots are my fail safe and these had a slightly smarter vibe over the more casual leather style of the tan boots, once I tried the style on, I was really pleased with the fit of them, the sales assistance said she also had these and found that they stretched out a little with wear so I decided to go for the 7.5 thinking once I’d got a pair of socks on and they’d stretched out a little they’d be the perfect fit and they have been really comfortable.

I ended up talking myself down from my black boot rut, I know I have at least 4 pairs of black boots in various styles but currently I have no brown ones. Since buying them, they’ve barely been off my feet, they are so incredibly comfortable and I’ve loved them paired with everything from denim to ditsy print dresses. The tan pair had the ready worn in toe that I love, with a hard suede detail on the heel. One of the things I really like about these is the inner sole is incredibly comfortable, but it’s also not glued down meaning you can let them dry and air out really well following a long day wearing them, or after a walk in some damp weather.

Also when I saw these socks, covered in tiny Dexter’s you know I had to get them too. These are some of the softest and cosiest socks I’ve owned, I’m thinking of going back and getting another set, they’re the perfect accompaniment to go with the pair of boots I ended up choosing.

I have an outlet near me which I happened to go to the day after I was invited to the Queensgate store and ended up picking up the brogues I’d been eyeing as well as a pair similar to the Hamlet flats in a black and leopard print from last season – best thing was that the already great value shoes for the quality were heavily reduced in the outlet, and they were buy one get one free, so I bought two pairs for just £19! I’m a Hotter convert.

Massive thank you for Hotter for inviting me along to your Fitting Fortnight, if you’ve mistaken Hotter for a shop you “shouldn’t shop in”, I throughly recommend popping in if you’re looking for quality, comfortable shoes.

I’m planning on doing a full fashion post for what I’ve been wearing most this Autumn and these boots will feature heavily as I have literally been wearing them 6 times a week since I got them!

Disclosure: I was allowed to pick a pair of shoes or boots to review as part of my blog, and was also gifted some Protector Spray. Reviews and thoughts are my own and based on my experience.

Both pairs of boots look lovely – the short, biker style you opted for especially! xx

You’ll get so much wear from the brogues – I’ve got a pair I love and die in! 😂 I love the brown of the boots you picked, they’ll go with everything 🙂 I think there’s a hotter in Nottingham… I’ll have to keep my eyes peeled! xx

I’ve only worn them once so far and they made my feet a bit sore – but I was trying to wear in three pairs of shoes all at the same time and my feet were dead by the end of the week so I think it was that! Definitely worth a peek!

I have a very similar pair to the long black ones that desperately need replacing after about 6/7 years now they’ve had their day and walked many a step! I’ll have to go back and see if they have them in next time I’m walking by!

I think I’d like Hotter if they were here – I wear shoes for COMFORT. Those loafers look right up my alley and I have riding style boots like those (mine are from Ecco) that I love. The boots you chose are classics and great as a transitional piece!

I’ll definitely get a lot of wear out of the pair I picked! As i’m growing older most shoes I wear are comfortable – I wear heels infrequently and try and not buy cheap uncomfortable shoes for day to day wear!

I’d never even heard of Hotter til a couple of weeks ago when I went into the Springfields outlet store with my mum a few weeks ago, walked in thinking “ooh this isn’t for me at all” and came out with a lovely pair of teal suede zip boots!

This post has me salivating, I LOVE your taste in shoes! Everything you showed off looks so comfy but also beautiful and easy to style… thank goodness there isn’t a store here or I would have no money left.

I like classic styles that can go with everything, I don’t like wondering whether a pair of shoes goes with my outfit!
