The #BloggersFestival 2017

If you saw my London Haul on Tuesday, you’ll already know that I headed down to the #BloggersFestival with one of my closest chums, Lora. Our main focus of the day was attending the Bloggers Festival in the afternoon, whilst there was shopping, sandwiches and emergency ice cream before and after. The #BloggersFestival is run by Scarlett London, and this is my third event of hers that I’ve visited, and was excited to head back to the rather beautiful Conrad St James Hotel. In the past I’ve tried to cover every company at the event, but this time I thought I decided to just do some more detailed info on my highlights.

We were greeted with drinks and champagne, with a lovely wall of balloons to stand and take pictures in front of, it was pretty busy when we arrived, and forgot to take a snap on the way out using the fun backdrop! This year the event was styled by La Fete, an events & wedding styling company which had a gorgeous long table filled with different types of place settings to centrepieces for inspiration, they provided me with some inspo for blog backgrounds. We also met the lovely Julia from Letters by Julia who was with La Fete doing beautiful hand lettered personalised name settings in the form of tags, papers and shells.

Sandisk were a main event sponsor and it was really interesting listening to them talk about some of their space enhancing product for phones, as well as chargers which also back up your phone at the same time. having just got a new iPhone 8+ I’m really interested in getting one of these and ‘starting off on the right foot’ as using iCloud for back up is both awkward and expensive, having something I can plug my phone into every night and charge, whilst it backs it up at the same time sounds like a great combination to me.

They also had plug in space enhancers for iPhones and android, cheaper than opting for the bigger GB iPhones, or if you’re running low on space on your phone then these are a great, and affordable option to look into!

If you’ve been reading my blog for any length of time you’ll know I bloody love a face mask and have a whole face mask Friday series dedicated to them. There was a pack of 13 masks included in a goody bag which will keep me going for quite some time, I haven’t reviewed one since number 9 in the series, and we’re now at 44 (this week) so it’ll be nice to have some new ones to try! They also included one of their hair masks, which I’ve never tried, and 2 men’s masks, which Ben was happy to hear I’d received!

Quiz clothing is a brand I always overlook, it’s in a place in my local shopping centre which is a little bit out the way from all the stores that I usually shop at. They had some beautiful pieces set out on a rail, gorgeous shoes and accessories out, and the two girls telling us about the range were wearing some stunning leather jackets (one was mustard yellow, the other was embroidered – my two fave trends at the moment!). They kindly gave a £50 voucher and I can’t wait to go into store and try some of the pieces on I admired!

Blogosphere Magazine were there selling subscriptions, I’ve been at an event where the same two ladies were there. I’ve mean meaning to subscribe for ages, the magazine doesn’t seem to stay in stock very long in my closest WH Smith, not only that but it’s cheaper than buying them singularly through the year, and you get the added benefit of events etc, the price is rising on the 1st October. I can’t wait to read the latest copy which features Hannah Gale as covergirl, I love her blog and can’t wait to cosy up in bed one night and enjoy this with a cuppa (once I’ve stopped binge watching Doctor Foster).

Stackers were there with their Jewellery boxes, I’ve long admired their Jewellery boxes in John Lewis and love that they’re very customisable to your collection, with different styles of compartments to suit everybody. Their range has expanded out further to include some other gorgeous pieces (I’m swooning over their bangle/watch cone, in marble which lifts up to be a dainty dish on the inside for rings/earrings). We were a minute too late to get our hands on one of their goody bags they were generously giving away, so there are some serious contenders for the Christmas list this year.

Chelsea Candle is  not a brand I’d seen around before, but the sleek and chic soy candles are made in small batches. We loved the Autumn Leaves one for this time of year. We were given a little bag with a mini votive in, Initially I didn’t think I’d be too keen on the Gooseberry and Elderflower scent but now I’ve had it burning in the living room for the past couple of nights I’m actually really liking it.

Look at this box, little bear arms! Bear Hug is born out of a concept by creator Faye, after she was ill and almost housebound when a friend sent her a little care package which inspired the idea. These would make perfect gifts for friends when you don’t know what to buy or maybe know the right thing to say. With teas, treats and home comforts these are a really gorgeous gift to let someone know you’re just thinking about them, and are completely customisable online too. Faye was lovely to talk to and is supported by the Prince’s Trust, I’ll definitely have these in mind for the future.

T-Zone is a brand I haven’t really visited since my teenage years, but they’re definitely having a resurgence as I’m seeing it pop up across different blogs over the past few months. We had a look at their Charcoal and Bamboo range, and I’m interested in picking up some of their masks in future to try for my Face Mask Friday series – if I can get my hands on them, they’re having trouble keeping up with demand they’re so popular in Superdrug!

TOTM definitely won best slogan of the day, probably year. Be Kinder To Your Vagina caught our eye across the room… with us wondering what on earth they meant. Chatting along to a guy about the concept- which was quite nice to have a man who didn’t wince at the mention of a woman bleeding monthly – I’ve never really thought about what’s in high-street sanitary products before, but the way he described it sounded… awful. TOTM is a more natural approach and looking into whats in my towels is something I definitely need to look into more!

On the way out we were handed another goodie bag which included a Vieve drink (we saw them on the inside), a Funkin’ Cocktail mix, Mini Bioderma (always handy), Murad Cleansers amongst some other little bits.

It was another fabulous event from Scarlett and I had a fab day with Lora chatting away with the brands and I can’t wait to put some of the bits I got to the test!

I’m in Peterborough, so it’s only 45 minutes to an hour and 10 on the train depending on fast or slow service, never takes me very long to get down!
We just figured if we were paying the train fare down we’d make a day of it and get our moneys worth, and were both grandmas and are worn out by about 8pm so early is better than late for us haha – the 6am wake up time on a weekend to sort the dogs out, get ready, go to DPD to sort out my phone misdelivery then be on a train for 9.08 was not welcome though, I will enjoy a lay in this Saturday for sure!
The range they had was a bit too light for me – so need to look on the website and see if they do anything that will work for me, Completely agree, moon cups not for me – still need it to be disposable cant deal with the admin of anything else!
Yes next time I’ll make a mental note to see if you’re going to any other events etc, I’m invited to quite a lot but can’t make most of them as their a midweek evening and would never stand a chance of making it after work!
