Mini Feel Unique Haul – August 2017

It’s been a while since I shopped on Feel Unique, I’ve become a pretty dedicated fan of some brands on Beauty Bay over the past 18 months and haven’t shopped a lot from elsewhere. When a 20% offer popped up through my phone networks scheme I decided to check it out as I knew a blanket 20% off everything was a pretty rare occurance on Feel Unique!
After going on a hunt for Urban Decay’s Velvetizer (which they still don’t stock for the record), I decided to pick up just three things, one of which was a need – the other two were on my ‘temptations’ list from July when I was on my No Buy and the 20% off offer was too good to refuse.

So let’s start with what I needed, which was a makeup brush cleaner, my brushes have all turned the same murky shade of brown and I’ve not had chance to clean them properly when I haven’t had to wait a day or two for them to all dry out properly. The high street’s options on spot brush cleaners is seriously limited and the ones I’ve tried either aren’t very easy to get hold of if they’re good (e.g the Freedom Brush Cleanser) or they’re terrible like the NYX spot brush cleaner. This one from Pro Hygiene Collection was really well rated and I decided to give it a try, there was two sized bottles of this and I decided to get the bigger one as it was almost double in size, at £10 (£8 with the discount) it’s not a cheap option but I decided it was worth a try. I’ve already cleaned all my brushes with it, and they’ll be a review up Friday!

Next up was a couple more of the Stila Magnificent Metals eyeshadows, I’ve spoken about my love of the rose gold retro one a lot (review here) and had been wanting to add a couple more shades to my line up as I adore that one. After a lot of online searching I decided on Gold Goddess and Smouldering Satin. Swatched Gold Goddess is kinda sheerer than the other two and I think it might need to be layered over a gold to make sure it’s as opaque as the others, but it’s more of a pure glitter so I can forgive that. Smouldering Satin is a cooler toned brown with a intense silver sparkle. If you want an easy way to wear glitter, then the Stila Magnificent Metals is the way to go, I’m dying to get my hands on the coloured duochrome versions of this but they still only seem to be available in Sephora and are always out of stock online, I’m going to be asking my sister to be keeping her eye out whilst she is in the US for them for me! Or if any of my US friends can find them and want to do a swap please let me know!

Because I spent over £30 I was able to pick 2 samples, I decided to pick out the Glam Glow Thirsty Mud pack as we all know I love a face mask and the only mask I’ve tried from Glam Glow was the original one, and wasn’t that impressed so decided getting a sample of another was a good way to go. The second item I picked up was the Clinique Mositure Surge Intense version – I’ve tried the original Moisture surge several times in the past and whilst I know it has it’s loyal band of followers I’ve never been besotted with it, so I thought I’d give the more intense version a try.

So that’s it, told ya it was a mini one! Please let me know if you have any high street favourites for brush cleaners, both spot and normal – my favourite deep cleaner Dr Bronner’s Magic Soap seems to have disappeared from everywhere, my local tesco used to have it, ASOS has discontinued it and I always used to be able to find it in TK Maxx and I’ve not seen it in months!

The Stila Magnificent Metals look gorgeous! The Clinique Moisture Surge has always intrigued me but I have been put of by the price $80-ish NZD for a 50ml tub of moisturiser, that’s around £40. I don’t want to take a risk on a product that expensive and not like it. I know you don’t have dry/sensitive skin but what did you think of it? x

I even found on my oily skin that it just didn’t feel like it added any moisture at all, I felt like it sat on my skin and didn’t absorb have had several deluxe samples of it over the years and each time I’ve tried it, it’s not wowed me at all!

I’ve heard it’s quite the place for beauty products. They should hire you, because someone so beautiful would attract many customers. Great products and great beauty is something you bring to the blogging world…

Would love your feedback on my new short called PHONESTRUCK. Come on by and leave a comment and I’ll be more than happy to promote your amazing blog.

I’ve still got that £35 voucher and I’m not sure what to spend it on 😩 Of course I don’t *need* anything so I might just have a browse but eugh it’s hard! I also have £20 of Amazon vouchers left and I need help! I like the look of the stila shadows but I’m just not sure they’re gonna be my thing 🤦🏼‍♀️

I love the mac brush cleaner or the B brand from Superdrug 💜

    • August 23, 2017 / 4:58 pm

None of my local stores stock b any more! I’ll keep a look out for that though in future. I’ve tried macs in the past and found I ran through it so quickly for the price!

I’m obsessed with the Stila glitters. I bought three but so far I’ve only tried the shade Diamond Dust which is on my eyes daily! I need to try the other two colours😊 xx

    • August 24, 2017 / 7:14 am

I can tell you’re using diamond dust on the inner corners aren’t you? So sparkly! I’m tempted by diamond dust for the same reason now but not sure if I’d wear it all over the lid very often as not usually a silver girl!

      • August 24, 2017 / 5:41 pm

I have been! It’s so pretty on the inner and outer corners😊 No I’m the same. I like a touch of silver but not all over my lid xx

    • August 24, 2017 / 7:15 am

Thank you! They’re fab products! I have the kitten one in the original magnificent metals formula so while I’m tempted to get that one I’ll probably get that one last! Xxx

The Stila Magnificent Metals eye shadow in Smouldering Satin is right up my alley!
I’m one of those people who love the Clinique Moisture Surge – tried a sample and ran out to get a full size tub. In fact, I’m using it right now – it’s been perfect for the summer months! Hope you find the Intense version better for you!

    • August 26, 2017 / 2:36 pm

I just checked my jar of Clinique Moisture Surge and it IS the Intense version – now I remember – I tried the regular version and wasn’t wow’d but loved the Intense version so that’s the one I grabbed the full size jar of. I hope you’ll like the Intense one too!

I used the sachet last night and did really like it as it was that gel cream texture which I tend to love! I have so many moisturizers though I either need to do a cull of ones I’m not going to use and then I can maybe justify buying one!
