Marc Jacobs Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Lipstick Review & Swatch

Marc Jacobs Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Lipstick

I don’t think I could have visited New York at a more perfect time – the weather was perfect, it was bright and sunny but it had snowed the week before so Central Park was still covered in snow and iced over lakes. But also and equally as important is that as I was there for my Birthday I got to pick a free item from Sephora for my Birthday. As soon as the girl who served me said Marc Jacobs, she didn’t even need to tell me what was in it. I wanted that – and it included the Marc Jacobs Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Lipstick.

Marc Jacobs Beauty at the time of me getting only launched into Harrods last year, now it’s availability is pretty widespread across the higher end department stores – and I spotted my first counter in Cambridge’s John Lewis whilst on my Hen Do. The set I picked up featured miniatures of their black gel pencil liner (which the girl in Sephora told me was her fave, and boy – it’s good) and the Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Lipstick.

Kiss Kiss Bang Bang is a perfect pink with a muted rose undertone that isn’t too colourful. Whilst it’s a pink I’ve found it to be one that goes with most makeup looks, it’s enough to not be a boring nude, but it isn’t so colourful that it adds up. I have seen other reviews of this shade and it seems to be a shade that suits everyone and really adjusts to the person who is wearing’s skintone, it’s looked more neutral, and even more red on other people. Whilst I’m about my daily life I often get asked if I’ve had my lips done, and I’ve noticed more often than not that tends to happen when I’m wearing this lipstick, it’s a shade I’ve found just makes my lips look really full, and the satiny soft sheen finish creates a plumped up lip look.

The pigmentation of this lipstick is really incredible, it’s such a gorgeous formula that glides onto the lips with utter ease, it’s very buttery and reminds me of a nicer version of the MAC Creamsheen formula. High pigmentation, comfortable wear. Considering these are such a creamy formula, I’m surprised at how well this lasts through eating and drinking, it’s certainly not as perfect at the end as when you started, however it resists well through eating and drinking, offering a decent wear time for this type of lipstick of around 5 hours.

I’ve used this so much over the past year and even though this is just a mini size, It still has so much life left in it – the high pigmentation formula means this tiny baby is going to last me, to the point where I may even be put off buying a full size because I’d never get through it! The Marc Jacobs Kiss Kiss Bang Bang Lipstick was a great introduction to me to Marc Jacobs beauty, I’m intrigued with trying their foundations (although would need to get myself to a counter to be colour matched).

This shade is gorgeous and it looks wonderful on you! Lipsticks that have good pigment and don’t require lots of layers to build up that pigment are the best!

The colour is definitely dupable, but the formula is excellent. Depends if you’re after the formula or colour, if it’s just colour I wouldn’t bother x

This looks lovely on you! I have a couple minis of Marc Jacobs lippies around my stash. I should dig them out! My favourite MJ beauty item is their eyeliner (Highliner – which you got in this set) – I had the brown one, it’s one of the best eyeliners I’ve tried.
Side note: have you watched the movie Kiss Kiss Bang Bang? It’s a neo noir comedy and it’s hilarious.

This lip piercing looks good on you.

Their remarkable foundation is fabulously bullet proof! Packaging sucks though *lol* big time oxidation, don’t decide colour on the spot 🤗 worth the money if the packaging doesn’t bother you. Their genius gel is good, but at that price point it isn’t special enough? Plus you have oilier skin than me, it so not going to work for you (more like healthy mix serum situation).

Haha I feel like I would definitely not suit a lip piercing!
Yes I read your review on remarcable, I’d definitely have to wait til I got to a counter though like you say I have no idea where to start on colours!
