I have a confession, I have a few watches, beautiful ones – and I never wear them. I have a few which are chunky metal bracelet watches and find I can’t stand wearing them at work as they become uncomfortable on the wrist when I’m sat all day typing and as a result I’ve just fell out of the routine of putting one on daily, which makes me sad because as an accessory I love how a watch looks. It’s timeless.
(excuse the unintentional pun)
When Plus Watches got in touch and offered me the chance to pick out a watch to review, I had a tentative look over their site, looking for something that would be comfortable, smaller, softer and easier to wear on a daily basis. With a choice of brands including Michael Kors, Armani, Skagen, Marc Jacobs and Daniel Wellington, I need not have worried as there was a perfect blend of choices and styles available across the brands. Plus Watches was founded back in 2015 with the aim of making quality brand watches available at competitive, affordable prices. A quick glance of the website showed that they truly were succeeding at their goal.
The website was really easy to navigate and find my way through, ending up with a short long list of around 12 different watches. I decided against Michael Kors, whilst I love his watches I have two already and the styles of them are largely quite similar, and was pleased when Marc Jacobs came out on top after putting it out on Twitter to help me choose which brand .
I ended up picking out a Marc Jacobs watch with a leather strap and rose gold detailing. I must admit when I picked out this particular one online I thought the face and strap on this were more of an olive colour, and when it arrived the colour was more of a taupe colour. I didn’t particularly mind as it would be a colour that would go with anything (and accidentally matches a MK bag I have perfectly!). This was also my fault as the website did say light brown strap – so more fool me for not paying attention!
The model of watch I ended up picking was the Baker Ladies watch, priced elsewhere at £199.99, Plus Watches sell this for £119.99 – a bargain price! The watch turned up really quickly and arrived securely packaged, in an original box – there’s nothing to suggest these watches have been discounted so it would be a perfect place to shop for a gift for a loved one if maybe your budget won’t stretch as far as you’d like on the high street, and even better – as some of you are probably wondering, yes they do ship internationally.
I pretty much started wearing this straight away after I had it delivered to work I was keen to begin putting it to the test and so far there’s not a day that I’ve taken it off out of frustration (something that always happens with my chunky metal bracelet ones). The leather strap on this is super soft and comfortable to wear and I barely think about the fact that it’s on my wrist through the day. It’s nice being able to check the time whilst walking out and about again without having to rustle through my bag to look for my phone. I really like the fact that this watch is one colour, with the face matching the strap of the watch, and just the subtle metallic details of rose gold glistening on the face and the strap buckle. I’m already thinking having seen that this watch came in lots of colour combinations such as tan, white & gold and black and gold – that maybe I could get another one in a different shade?
Plus Watches were also kind enough to send me a second one to giveaway. I know – I’m excited too. I’m going to be giving this away over on my Twitter, you have to be following me & Plus Watches and RT this tweet to be entered. Full Rules are listed below
