Look Incredible July 2017 Unboxing

I was really excited for this months Look Incredible box to arrive, being my one allowed purchase during the no-buy month for July. It normally arrives on the second Friday of the month but arrived a day early for me, which made a nice little Thursday treat arriving onto my desk.

The card is back in this month’s box for me after it was missing last month. I always try very hard not to peek at the card as I turn it over to reveal the products (if I haven’t already spoilt it for myself by snooping on Instagram). This month was a rare full surprise when I had no idea what would be inside. There was a great selection of brands and items sticking out at me!

First up, the most colourful item in the box jumped out at me – the Bareminerals Statement Matte Liquid Lipstick in the shade Fresh (RRP £15). I don’t have any liquid lipsticks from Bareminerals and nor have I seen anyone else ever talk about them. This is a gorgeous bright pink which reminds me of a similar one I have from OFRA, with a lovely creamy and wearable texture and warm vanilla scent, I can see this becoming a favourite over summer. Another one from that liquid lipstick comparison post I keep saying I’m going to do… I do plan to start that the next time I have a spare day… I have so many brands and formulas now!

Next up I spotted a boxed item from Estee Lauder, intrigued to open and see what was inside it was one of their Pure Colour Nail Polishes in the shade Diabolique (RRP £15.00). This isn’t my favourite shade and I definitely think they could have picked something a bit more summer inspired, but it’s a pretty warm rusty brown shade that I think I’ll love during autumn. I haven’t tried an Estee Lauder polish before so I’m happy to have a high end one to try out.

Next up was an item from Eucerin, I’m still waiting to try out the last Eucerin product I received in another Look Incredible Box – this is their Even Brighter Night Cream (RRP £7.99), the size of this is pretty dinky for a full size. This helps even out dark patches, age spots and freckles offering a more even toned complexion. I have a few bite scars I’d love to get clear of and have been considering a chemical peel so we’ll see if these will get gone.

Next up was the Protect & Perfect Intense Advance Serum from No7 (RRP £25.50). I know some people love No7, but I’ve always found it a bit pricey for what it is. I know their serums have a great reputation in particular so I’m kind of intrigued to try this, kind of tempted to pass it onto my Mum who is finally using skincare regularly after talking her though what everything she has in her collection should do and when to use it in the day.

This is the star of the show for this box for me! Kevyn Aucoin is a brand I’ve really wanted to try, but the price tags of the products are a big turn off for ordering online (there’s no counter stocking his products near me). This is one of their Eye Pigment Primatifs (RRP £18), which are coloured eye primers to soak up any sebum on the eyelids – which can be used alone or underneath as a primer. This is the shade Dawn, which is a gorgeous dusky pink shade with subtle holographic shimmer in it (which of course is impossible to photograph the true beauty of!). I have contacted Look Incredible about my one of these, the shadow seems to have dried up completely, it did arrive completely sealed but it’s all lumpy when I try to swatch it.

I think this was a pretty good box this month, the one item which I’m disappointed by is the No7 one, but that’s more of a personal preference. I wish the Estee Lauder polish was a more summery colour, but I will get use out of it as the seasons change if not before. It’s a nice selection of products, and I’m really glad there was no Mascara as I have a huge backlog at the moment thanks to the supply of them from this box.

What do you think of this months box?

This looks like a really good box! So tempted to re-subscribe. I really don’t like lip products in the box, I’ve accumulated a huge pile and they also come in the weirdest shades. I am picky with lip products:) i agree with nail polish colour, but it will look amazing in the autumn. Do you know if this month’s box still available? PS love your unboxing posts! Xxx

When I first subscribed you had to pre-order the box for the next month, but I think now they always have some spares, it says on the website which box you are ordering. I think Look Incredible is generally quite good at keeping the shades in a ‘normal’ spectrum of what most people would wear, but I’ve found other boxes tend to have the weirder cast off of brands and colours!

The bare minerals lip stick looks absolutely beautiful! Really cute and summery! It looks like a good box in general. I’ve recently subscribed to Glossybox and Birchbox (received my first Glossy and just waiting on Birch now) might have a little look at the Look Incredible one if I decided to change one of them as I’ve heard a lot of mixed reviews about Birchbox! Xx

I’ve been subscribed to both of those in the past and not particularly keen on either (although Glossybox has got better recently). I found Birchbox to be too small samples and have too much variety in their boxes that I always felt like someone else got a better deal.
The Look Incredible boxes are more expensive at £27.99 – but everything is full size and from high end brands, I ended up wanting to spend more to get products I could properly use than small samples (or cheap high street brands) that I could only use a handful of times.

I’ve heard similar things about Birchbox. I was really happy with Glossybox this month, but it’s only my first one, so we’ll see! I didn’t want to splurge on a more expensive one just yet as I don’t know if I’ll stick to monthly boxes. I subscribed to My Little Box a couple of years ago hated it! Will see how I get on but will absolutely keep Look Incredible in mind!

Ahh Kevyn Aucoin ❤️ I’ve been put off by the price tag too, but I may have to bite the bullet soon! xx

WOW! That’s an amazing box! That nail polish looks totally up my alley. I like wearing dark, vampy shades year-round.

I have one of the Bare Minerals Gen Nude liquid lipsticks. I forget the shade I have but is a pretty mauve. Very comfortable formula that’s more of a satin finish. And smells like chocolate.

OMG Kevyn Aucoin! I only have a couple things from him (a lipgloss & a mascara) but want to try more. I loved watching him on House of Style on MTV in the 90s.

I really wanted to try this box but they don’t ship to my country. :/

I can’t believe that is actually how the shadow comes! I’ve got the contour from KA and can confirm that it is excellent! xxx

Quite impressed by this box, they included some really good brands and a mix of products! I didn’t even know that Estee Lauder did nail varnishes?! I would actually like to hear more about the Even Brighter Night Cream as a lot of creams (low and high end) claim to do similar things to this so it would be nice to know if it lives up to it – considering the fab price tag! xx
