A Three-Piece MAC Haul

A Three-Piece MAC Haul

If you read my honeymoon beauty haul, you might have seen that I was eyeing up getting the MAC In The Flesh Palette at the Airport, the price was just over £40 in the airport and after looking at the price online I decided to wait it out, after a quick forum google that suggested that MAC was quite cheap to buy at Kuala Lumpur’s airport, I decided to wait it out to see if I could get a better deal. Sadly KLIA did not come through and the palette was almost double the price (£76 cash / £72 card), so I went home sad and empty handed.

When I arrived home I knew I would be trying to get my hands on the palette pretty pronto, as the palette is limited edition, but I didn’t expect to get it so quickly. An email popped up in my email box for 20% off online purchases, so off I went and added a couple of other things into my basket at the same time that I’d been wanting to get my hands on.

In The Flesh Palette – £39.60 with Discount / £49.50 Pre Discount
Ahh look at this beauty! I’ve never been that bothered with MAC shadows in general, compared to the price you can buy them in pans abroad, the £10+ price tag has never been that appealing to me to splurge on loads of them, intact I have less than 10 MAC shadows that I deemed worthy enough to buy, but Makeup Geek – and many other brands are way more affordable than MAC.

These pre-made 15 palettes have been quite tempting, with the Cool-Neutral and Warm-Neutral, neither of them were quite right for me. Step in In The Flesh, I’d heard about this online, but hadn’t really seen it in person or paid any real attention to it until my Makeup Artist for the wedding was using it on my Bridesmaids, it blended so beautifully (in the hands of a professional makeup artist) and she used it on me in conjunction with some Stila Magnificent Metals for a more glittery lid. I resisted being like “can I swatch this” and ending up with sparkly arms, but when I saw it in the airport and played around with it, I knew that quite quickly it was going to have to become mine. I really like the mix of shades in this palette and it has some more pale shades compared to the warm and cool neutral palettes. I’ll be trialling this immediately and will get up a review on this as soon as I can, let me know if you’d like a first impressions that I can get up quickly, as I’m not sure how much longer it will be around.

Vegas Volt Lipstick – £13.20 with Discount / £16.50 Pre Discount
I feel like I can finally do a MAC lipstick collection now I’ve gotten my hands on this. Vegas Volt has been on my list to get for about 2 years now, and I’ve never been able to swatch it in store as I can never find which one it is! So I’ve bought this blind – what I did know about it was that it was a super bright, verging on neon coral shade, and yep this baby is bright! I don’t have anything similar to this in my collection, definitely not my MAC collection. I can’t wait to wear this on a sunny day!

MAC Transparent Pink Relects Glitter – £12.80 with Discount / £16.00 Pre Discount
Last but not least is the Transparent Pink Reflects Glitter, I went on a mission to get my hands on the Teal version (which for some reason is no longer a permanent one in the UK), after seeing Manny MUA wear it when I met him it was so eyecatching. I’ve been waiting since December for the Transparent Reflects glitters to come back in stock and decided to go for the pink one as it will be a good one to go with Peach, Pink and Purple makeup looks. I love these glitters, especially at Christmas time or when in need of a bit of extra sparkle, and their transparent nature means they can just be patted on and layered over other eyeshadows.

It may seem like my No Buy July is going horrendously, this has just been a delay with the travel posts going up in-between some beauty bits!

Have you tried any of these pieces from MAC? or have you got anything on your MAC wishlist?

Ooooh I’d love that pigment for inner corner highlight honestly! I should look into it more xx

I wouldn’t recommend them as an inner corner highlight personally unless layering over other colours – they pick up on the pigment of colours underneath it and are just transparent otherwise!

Ahh that eyeshadow palette is absolutely gorgeous! Great taste 💜 I have one that I made myself I use those shades practically every day I love MAC eyeshadows. ✨

I like Mac shadows but generally find the pans a bit over priced here, the pre made palettes are great value for money in comparison, I think I’ll get a lot of use from it!

The palette is beautiful, does it have a variety of shimmer and matte shades? I can’t wait to see Vegas Volt on you! The glitter looks gorgeous too x

Yes, it’s really well balanced, there’s shimmery ones, almost foily ones and matte ones – still haven’t used it yet as I’m not happy with the pictures I took for the review post and don’t want to ruin the pans ha!

Blogging life – products have to be photographed before they are used 😂

The palette looks super useful! I’m always tempted by those palettes but I already own most of MAC’s neutrals. It’d be perfect for those who are just getting into makeup or need something for travel.
Those 20% off MAC promos are messing with me! I keep having to ignore them… I see now they have a buy 2 lip products, get a free lipstick deal. UGH.

    • July 10, 2017 / 3:15 pm

Agh we have not got that deal here, it’s very rare that MAC do any kind of offers here which is why I snapped that 20% off right away!
The great news about this palette is all the colours are LE, apart from ol’ Carbon in the corner!
Still yet to use it even though it arrived nearly two weeks ago… wasn’t happy with photos I took for the review so still sitting unswatched on my dressing table torturing me daily, going to try when I get home if the light is good enough!
