Jeez, logging into wordpress after just short of a month feels completely alien! I haven’t checked on comments at all. If you’ve been wondering where I’ve been, I got married on 3rd June and in the week prior I signed myself out of blogging (which was a wise idea as it turned out I was not going to bed prior to 1am that week!) and after that we pretty much packed our suitcases and jumped on the plane for our honeymoon.
The past 18 months of wedding stress were all worth it. Massive thank you to my family who were massively helpful in the few days before, helping me do everything from the flower arrangements, to puff out tissue paper pom poms (no one loved that task!). We had the most amazing weather the day we got married, it was sunny, but not too hot, we had great food, atrociously fun dancing and amazing friends and family to celebrate with, everything went without a hitch (except me putting Ben’s ring on the wrong finger… shush don’t tell the vicar she didn’t notice!).
I’ve included a few of the pictures from our photographers preview, I can’t wait to see the rest of them! Massive thank you to Charlotte – she was the perfect photographer. If you’re in the South Lincolnshire/East Mids area, and looking for a wedding/family/newborn photographer. Charlotte is your girl! Charlotte’s Facebook Link & Charlotte’s Website.
If you haven’t seen my instagram lately, you may not have known where we’ve been (the time difference for my posts meant a lot of people didn’t seem to see them on our feeds), we first were in Kuala Lumpur and then jetted off to Bali, where we stayed in two different areas. I’ve left a part of myself in Bali, it’s the most incredible, culturally enriching, eye opening place I’ve ever been, and I definitely hope to go back one day. We had an adventurous 15 days away, with cities, jungles, caves, rice paddies an beaches all explored in that time.
So what’s next for Helpless Whilst Drying? I’ve had several fun opportunities come in via email whilst away, but I’ve really not been trying anything new beauty wise whilst I’ve been away or even prior to that as I was scared of disrupting a skincare routine that was working for me. I’ve been wanting to start incorporating more lifestyle into my blog and that will be coming as a bit of a bang over the next month or so – I have everything planned from what we did, where we ate to hotel reviews. I will have a haul coming up from mostly Malaysia, and a few beauty boxes that have arrived whilst I’ve been away, but everything else will be mainly be wedding/travel related for the next month, while I slip back into normality and the routine of trying things out again – but I hope going forward I’ll be able to keep a nice mix of things coming through, as I’ll have time (and money), to start going for weekends away, even an afternoon out has been luxury the past year!
I’m hoping to get a big writing session done of everything travel whilst everything is fresh in my mind, but I took over 3,000 photos. Yep, you read that right, so consolidating them down and editing may take a little while, which is why I’m back a little trepidatiously (also I’m not sure whether Jet Lag may hit at some point this week!).
I’m also planning on moving to self hosted in the second part of this year, I’m fed up of not being able to make the design I can rustle up in a few short days and give me all the flexibility I want and need, but I have some freelance projects to get out the way first before I make time for my own design work.
Thank you for all your comments whilst I was away, I’ll try and catch up to replies soon -as well as reading posts I’ve missed from your blogs! And a big thank you to those who provided guest posts too!
