F.U.N Lacquer Daydream – Swatch & Review

F.U.N Lacquer Daydream – Swatch & Review

I’ve loved looking at F.U.N Lacquer polishes over the past year or two, and when I came around to attempting to narrow down the selection when I placed my first Indie order this one just screamed my name and was one of the three F.U.N’s to make the first cut, and was the first from my order to get on my nails as I just loved the look of F.U.N Lacquer Daydream.

Daydream is a collaboration with Russian nail swatching witch Svelta Sanders, I recommend not following her on instagram if you’re a nail addict as you’ll end up with a shopping list as long as both your arms, as well as your legs. Blessing is a colour which is totally unique within my collection, although you could be fooled at first glance to see otherwise.

First, we HAVE to talk about the box that this arrived in, a gorgeous periwinkleish-lilacish holo graphic disco ball of a box, with the trademark gold lettering. I am not throwing this box away, ever. The brush on the polish is actually my perfect size and shape, it’s not too wide, thin, short on long and I find I get a really quick application with it.

It’s a gorgeous soft dusty rose pink cream, on my skin tone it gives a hint of colour with a smidge of a coral undertone, but I think this would be a really pretty shade when I have a tan, as well as both a perfect shade for my paler and darker skin toned gals. On close inspection it has hints of tiny matte holographic flakes that catch the light subtlety and aren’t immediately obvious and at times the flecks often come off more silvery, whilst under sunnier lights it has a hint of holo that’s not too much. I think if you like the idea of holo or glitter but find them a bit much for every day if you maybe have to be a bit more office appropriate then this would be perfect.

The first coat applies kind of sheer, and I was half expecting that I would need at least three coats of this, but something magical seems to happen with the second coat and it applies perfectly in two and has a pretty nice glossy finish, although I did add a topcoat on top. I’ve ditched base coats as they do not seem to want to work for me at the moment, I don’t know what’s happening but gels and normal polishes seem to have an inability to last past two days.

F.U.N Lacquer Daydream had me hugely impressed as I wore it for 5 days before it chipped, and I was being very active with my hands doing trial wedding flower centerpieces the day it began chipping. I probably could have got an extra day from it, but I repainted as I wanted to get some pictures as I hadn’t managed to yet.

I’m incredibly impressed with my first two experiences with F.U.N Lacquer, I don’t think it will be long before my collection expands past my first three, I also got a duochrome and glitter from them, so I want to see how each formula wears before my next order happens, but I definitely need some of those more extreme holos in my next batch.

F.U.N is a cruelty free brand and is also 5-free. Priced at £10.50 (from Rainbow Connection) is worth every damn penny so far.

Have you tried F.U.N lacquers?

Oooh, love this shade! Pinks can be a little boring sometimes, but not this one. The box is gorgeous too, haha!

The colour is so pretty, I live nail varnishes with a subtle bit of sparkle in them for spring. I haven’t tried this make before but I think it might end up on a wish list for my next Rainbow Connection order.

That BOX is amazing! I’d never throw it out either… could you possibly make something out of it?
This is such a pretty shade – totally up my alley. Although, I do wish the holo was stronger. Good to hear it wears well too.

I do wish it was a smudge stronger too, I like that it’s subtle, but in most lights it just looks silver, when you catch it in the right sunlight it’s like “there she is!” I’m hoping it will come into it’s own a bit more in summer!
Maybe although there is writing on every side of the box! I’m finally going to get my nail polish rack on my wall after 3 years of it being in my cupboard and try and hang it this weekend, I’ll be satisfied with seeing the box on the rack!

It’s a beautiful colour. The mix of holographic glitters looks stunning! Never heard of them before, guess that’s why I need to keep reading your blog *LOL*
