Look Incredible Unboxing – April 2017

I was surprised to find that my Look Incredible box was waiting for me when I got home, It’s something that I always seem to miss, but I have a feeling we have a new postie who is leaving our parcels rather than taking them. Making me ecsatically happy, as I thought I wouldn’t be reunited with the box until after the Bank Holiday weekend.

My initial thoughts on this box when I picked it up was ‘I think this is going to have a lot of makeup in it’ as it was really light and showed no signs of having a heavy body cream or scrub inside and I wasn’t wrong. This time the box is (almost) entirely makeup which we haven’t seen for a while, and I’m going to put it out there – my first reaction from scanning the products was, I think this is the best box I’ve had – at least in the last six months, but it’s up there with my favourites overall.

I always quickly cover for those who aren’t aware of the service – this is a box high end products that are full sizes. Names from MAC, BareMinerals to NARS are brands which are all seen in this box. The box with postage, comes to £21.99. There is also a Deluxe box version which I compared to side by side here for details on values and my thoughts on which box I prefer and why. The box usually has 5 items inside, and normally 3 out of 5 of those products are makeup, the others 2 often being split between skincare, tools or nail polish. Whilst this normally has 5 items, this one has 7, this normally comes with a card listing product details and prices, I’m not sure whether it was discluded from all boxes this time, but I didn’t get one with my products so I’m having to guess and do some research.

First item that jumped out of the box was the Josie Maran Infinite Argan Enlightenment Duo – as far as I’m aware, we can’t get Josie Maran here. I’ve found this set on Amazon for £24.99, there’s two miniature products inside, an Argan Enlightenment Illuminizer and an Argan Infinity Intensive Creamy Oil. Both of these sound perfect for tanned skin so I’m going to be reserving these miniatures for taking on honeymoon. I’ve wanted to try Josie Maran for ages, so I’m really happy to have these to test.

Next up, the only skincare item in this box, Soap and Glory Heel Genius – this is another one of the travel/mini sizes that you can buy. I’ve never tried this from S&G, and I’m always trying to find the one which works for me. On the Boots website they only have the large 125ml version of this – so it appears like they may have stopped selling this. This might be another good thing to take on honeymoon – there’s going to be lots of walking in the first part of our holiday, and lots of flip flops in the second part, so this is a good size for us both to keep our feet feeling loved.

This one took a lot of research, there was a Sisley Paris brush inside with no number or name. None of the Sisley brushes looked like this, none had white handles, eventually I tracked it down to being an item which came with purchase for the Sisley Phoyto Eclat Eye concealer, it doesn’t seem to be sold by itself. Combined they had a value of £63 – without the brush I’ve found it for around £50. I guess that gives the concealer brush a £13 value? I actually don’t have too many concealer brushes, but I’ve been thinking in getting one for brow definition, so now I don’t have to!

Next my eye darted to the Coloured Raine box, I bought a matte lip paint from Coloured Raine back in December, and have loved the formula. This was another one which I couldn’t be happier about. This is the shade Vanity Raine, which is a gorgeous bright blue toned red. I don’t have many – if any – bright liquid red lips as I always feel like it’s not my shade, but I’m happy to trial this out in this budge free formula and see if I can fall in love with a bright red. These cost £15 on Beauty Bay.

Wild About Beauty is a brand which I’ve only heard good things about, but have never tried. This is a double ended eyeshadow pencil duo (£14.50) in the shade Marjorie. This has a gorgeous shimmery grey brown on one end, and a matte eyeliner on the other end in a darker grey brown. Another good space saving product for travel.

Last up a brand name I’m always happy to see, NARS – this time in the form of a product I’ve never tried from them. This is their Velvet Shadow Stick in the shade Velvet Angel, which is a dark matte chocolate brown. These retail at £21 a pop, I think this particular shade has been discontinued, I’m happy to have it though, as this isn’t a colour I have in a shadow stick form.

This was an incredible box for me, there was a great selection of brands, a good selection of things that filled gaps in my collection, and no Nails Inc or Ciate in sight also made me very happy.

What do you think of this month’s box?

The Josie Maran duo looks good. I’ve had a few things from her aside from the argan oil and they were decent.
Such an odd thing that Sisley brush! I gathered it had to be a gwp or with a kit. The shape does look good for spot concealing though.
That Nars Velvet Shadow Stick could make a nice smudgy liner.

I think I had one Argan oil sachet when I did my Sephora order but that’s all so I’m looking forward to seeing how these work!
I think they included that Sisley brush as an extra like they did with that tester cc concealer last month! It seems nice quality though so can’t complain! I never spot conceal with a brush I’m too lazy, but I think it will be good for going round the brows as it’s long and quite rigid!

I love Soap & Glory. I have almost their full Sugar Crush line. I love the smell of it so much. I’ve heard those Coloured Raine lippies are hit & miss. Glad you’ve found some that work for you.

This one seems to swatch really nicely so hopefully it wears well, I only have one other shade but it’s great!
I love the scent of sugar crush but there’s not a lot from the line I actually seem to like, I keep trying but nothing ever seems to impress me!

They pulled it out the bag, or rather the box, this month by the looks of it! Those Josie Maran products look lovely and I cant wait to see what you think of them in more depth.

That Coloured Raine lipstick looks beautiful! I’ve heard great things about their liquid lipsticks but I haven’t pulled the trigger on them yet for some reason. xx
