Love Me Beauty – April 2017

It has been almost a year since I bought my last box from Love Me Beauty, I clicked through one one of their emails at the start of the month to see what they had and happened to see something I wanted to restock myself on, and it worked out cheaper than buying the product by itself.

If you haven’t heard of Love Me Beauty, it’s a credit based subscription service which allows you to pick products, they tend to be between 5 & 25 credits a month, and you have 60 to spend. It used to be something I was subbed to monthly as I would get a lot of extra credits from people using my referrals, but I started to notice it was the same products coming round and round, so I unsubbed myself and have only used it a few times since when I’ve seen something I wanted to try.

This initially started as a really beautiful box, but since then it’s seen various different reincarnations from simple canvas pouches to makeup bags. The current form appears to be a makeup bag, and I must say whilst it’s not the most amazing quality, the green and pink botanical print that came with this one was rather pretty.

Here’s what I picked:

Ecotools Eye Duo – 20 Credits

I’ve been getting into ecotools more recently, and thought these double ended brushes would be particularly holiday for trying to pack as light as possible for our honeymoon with a selection of brush shapes. I have no doubt that these will come in handy.

Amie Purifying Facial Wahs and Matte Finish Moisturiser – 5 Credits

I had 5 credits left to spend and this was the only thing to spend it on, I’ve really depleted my minature sized samples over the past few months and this will be handy for a few days away at a time – they’re too small to last me a full 14 days whilst we’re away, but I may pop them in my bag to take with me to the wedding venue as they’ll be good for one night at least!

Living Proof Style Extender Spray – 15 credits

I’ve heard good things about this product from Living proof and thought this would be a handy size to take away with me on honeymoon to try and salvage me washing my hair freqently (although I’m not hopeful with the humidity!)

Makeup Forever Ultra HD Deluxe Loose Powder – 20 Credits

This is the product I wanted to repurchase! I haven’t tried the Ultra HD version of this, but I do have the HD version from a past Love Me Beauty box which I’m running really low on. When I had my makeup trial the MUA used this on me to set my makeup in place, and when I was at home I used this to de-shine myself and it worked perfectly. It was only when I looked at how little I had left I realised I needed to get some more. I’d planned to get the RMCA powder from the Beauty Bay and attempt to refill my MUFE pot, but it’s gone out of stock, AGAIN, but wanted something that would fit in my slimline handbag so this should be perfect however the picture was misleading on the site! It’s worth noting that this sample is hella lot smaller than the last one that arrived – 4g was the last size and this one is 1g.

One of the things I don’t love about LMB is they often show the full size products instead of the sample size you do receive, if you’re not paying attention to the mls/grams that’s listed (sometimes even zooming into the product image to try and spot it), you can think you’re getting a full size, but infact it’s a small one, this is actually what happened in the case of the MUFE powder for me, as this was what was pictured – looking identical to my last one.

I personally don’t think the Love Me Beauty subscription offers good value for money any more, when I first subscribed there was a large selection of full size products in the box, and a wider selection too. I feel like it’s a box which grew beyond it’s initial quality means and whilst I love the concept of this box, I’m left totally disappointed with what I got this time around in terms of size. I’m definitely glad I got those Ecotools brushes – which I debated not getting as everything else is so small it won’t last beyond a few weeks.

If you’d like to see my past LMB reviews you can click here, If you’d like to subscribe you can use the code RACHA549 which will give you 30 extra credits with your first order. They currently have items from Perricone MD, Kat Von D, Ellie Faas & Ecotools (amongst many more) available to grab.

I was the same with lmb it was great at first but now not so much! I got the Mufe powder way back when too and it was a decent size that 1g is such a swizz!! The eco tools brushes look lovely though xxx

I think the EcoTools brushes are the only saving grace of this box. It’s misleading that they used a picture that has the proper fabric sifter, the one in this one is just a plastic one with three holes in it. I don’t think many people pay attention to the g sizes on there – and no one will really know what that equates to if they don’t look up the full size of the product.
      See you later alligator!

I love your pictures, well done. I tried to take some pictures of a face mask last night (you inspired me to write a product review) and well they are pretty poor ha! Got to start somewhere I guess. I like your blog, it’s beautiful 🙂

Thanks Kirsty! It all takes time and experimenting – took me three years to get to this point with lots of trial and error. I’ll look out for your review!

Oh no please don’t! I’m nervous 🙂 I’m finding my blog feet and loving it. The creativity of people amazes me.

Oh wow that’s kind of an amazing bag, the makeup forever and living proof! SO impressive. Also I swear by that MUFE powder for setting my lids before applying shadow, it just leaves them so so smooth x
    my latest post ♡

Oh those ecotools brushes look super useful! The shapes of those bristles look so versatile.
I haven’t tried any Living Proof yet but I’m curious too – I hope that spray works for you!
What a rip-off for the MUFE loose powder – downgrade from 4g to 1g? 😛
Smart to get some travel sized stuff for your honeymoon… how is it that you’ve depleted your sample stash?!! I swear faeries come and put more into my drawers. 😮

We don’t really get that many GWP things here – so really I’m only kept topped up with samples via beauty boxes. I hate having lots of small stuff that creates clutter though so I try to keep on top of using them up between starting one full size thing and the next, I’ve gone too far now that I have no handy sizes for weekends away though! I’m off to a Kiehl’s event this evening though so I’m hoping to get some Kiehl’s favourites as stock for the sample drawer!

I used the ecotools for the first time this morning and they were lovely! I need to give Ecotools more time, I’ve never bought any I only ever end up grabbing them in Love Me Beauty boxes!

I have those Ecotools brushes. They’re nice. I like them.

This seems fun. Always found subscription boxes interesting but most don’t do international shipping. I wonder if this ships worldwide?

I used to sub to this box many moons ago but found it was the same old thing every month! You’re completely right about the photos too, you really have to pay attention to what you chose or you send up with a foil packet sample which is no use to anyone! xxx

I don’t like the look of this one to be honest. It doesn’t have much of an appeal for me in terms of the products now I have read the post. The bag however, is quite handy. I used to collect the birchbox ones and use them in my suitcases for intimates when travelling 🙂

Ecotools are pretty bomb! How is a brand, cruelty free, sustainable, high quality AND cheap?!! I love it!
