I Might Be Turning Into Bridezilla – Wedding Planning #7

I Might Be Turning Into Bridezilla – Wedding Planning #7

I really can not believe I’m writing this. We are two months away from the big day, 61 Days – It’s also April, I have no idea where this year has gone. I feel like I haven’t achieved as much this month as what I’d hoped, but I’m really greatful we have a 4 day Bank Holiday coming up over easter, I’m going to have our wedding activities planned to the hour, I’d really like things mostly done by the end of this month as most Saturday’s are already booked up in May .

The Banns Have Been Read

Our Banns have been read for the first time at the Church where we’re getting married, and we had a rare family outing to Church to hear any objections (luckily there was none!), two more Sundays pray to hear any people not screaming ‘I OBJECCCCCT’ before we’re done and can relax that it’s done with!

Bathroom Baskets

You may have seen the post I did earlier in the month listing that I had put together the toiletry baskets to keep guests (and myself) feeling fresh as a daisy all night long. You can read the full details of that here but I’m glad it has been ticked off as it was one of those jobs that was easy to sort and I don’t have to stress about it last minute.

Bridesmaid Dresses

The Bridemaid dresses arrived and we had their fittings over the last few weeks and they looks absolutely lovely, we definitely collectively made the right choice and both of them looked fabulous. We’re going back in May for mine and their final fittings.

My Dress

A few days after the bridesmaid fittings I also had my first fitting, and woah, that dress was basically made for me, currently it needs the tiniest adjustment and I’m back in May to double check a few weeks before whether it needs any more or whether it’s good to go.

Makeup Trial

The Saturday just past I had my makeup trial and I couldn’t be happier with how it turned out. If you had an eagle eye you would have seen multiple photos through the day of me showing how long it wore. I had my makeup finished by 12.30pm (on the day I’m looking to be ready for 1pm, to give me time to get changed and have some pictures before leaving for the church for 2), and it was still hanging on strong at 11.30pm with just one powder in between. I’m hoping it will be a little warmer when it comes to June, and there will definitely be more dancing than there was, but the results were promising.

I’m not going to be sharing a picture here, but I wanted peachy pink tones to be reflective of the early summer wedding that we’re having, and it’s very rare I actually wear proper neutrals now a days, and the Charlotte Tilbury lipstick I bought (see last wedding planning post) lasted throughout the day.

Wedding Favours

I wish this wasn’t a thing, why has this been something we’ve inherited from America. We started making them this month before deciding I didn’t like them and we started them from scratch this weekend. What we’re doing is very time consuming but I think it will pay off. My sister came over and helped us out, and is coming over again most likely this weekend, so hopefully we can make even better progress.

Evening Invites

The evening invites have left the building, after a cockup made by me where I accidentally re-ordered the RSVP cards for the day instead of new ones for the evening have gone, they were pretty much the same design as last time but instead of being folded cards they were just single sheets as there was less information we needed to cram on and explain.

I’ve found the past month really stressful, just in general there’s been a lot going on beyond the wedding planning and the fact I’m finding it impossible to keep on top of housework with everything else that has to be done means that my stress is boiling over into getting snappy and stressy. It’s not intentional and everyone who knows me, I promise we’re on the final countdown again and I’m doing my best to keep being and feeling like Bridezilla to myself.

If you’d like to read about my Wedding planning so far you can click here to here about everything from the engagement last January, until now!

Sidenote: I’m looking for guest posts while I’m away on Honeymoon as I don’t fancy the stress of getting three weeks worth of posts scheduled, if you’d like to do a guest post please let me know (can be on anything you’d like!) – I’ll be happy to return the favour for you later in the year if desired!

You seem to have everything organized and right on track. Being stressed out is normal!! I would be happy to help with a guest post but I don’t really do beauty posts, as I no nothing about it!

I think you’re doing great and you’re normal to get stressed as you’re wrapping up the final bits and pieces. Xx

Thank you! It’s so weird thinking in two months time I’ll now be married! I’d like everything mostly done by the end of the month so I can have a less stressful May and can concentrate on getting ready for honeymoon! Xx

I got married 8 months ago and am so glad the planning phase is over! I’m sure you’re doing great. My advice would be to enjoy every moment, you probably hear that a lot, but honestly it’s so important! It happens so quickly and it’s a day you’ll want to relive always.

BTW- I’d be honored to do a guest post! I am new to blogging but sure am loving every minute. πŸ™‚

Your wedding series is making me both very excited and incredibly scared about having my own wedding in the future! Honestly, I don’t know how you do it! x

  9. April 3, 2017 / 6:42 pm

If my boyfriend & I ever get married it’s going to be the tiniest, quickest weddings ever. Just us. Nothing fancy. Too old for all that other stuff.

      • April 3, 2017 / 8:17 pm

I just want to go to city hall and be done with it. I’ve been to so many huge weddings that are total circuses. And extremely expensive. But good luck with all your stuff. 😊

        • April 3, 2017 / 8:31 pm

I find it tough, because I want my family there and I have such a large family it’s impossible to draw the line anywhere, I mind less of the expense and more of how there’s just craploads to do!

  10. April 3, 2017 / 7:22 pm

I literally remember reading your “3 months to go” wedding planning post at what felt like a week ago…where did the time go?? I think my wedding is two weeks after yours, so I totally sympathize with you right now in terms of balancing work, blogging, social life, home responsibilities and wedding planning. Just have faith that everything is going to work out!

So glad that the BM dresses and your wedding dress are looking fab, and that your makeup trial went well! Even though it probably feels like you have so much left to do, things are coming together!

    • April 3, 2017 / 7:35 pm

I’m so glad I’m not the only one who felt like blinked and missed March, like what the heck!?
I’m hoping by the next two weekends we could’ve largely done, thanks to the bank holiday, and roping in as many people as I can think of to come help! Then I’ve just got a lot of printing stuff to do, and to actually find a table plan I’m happy with!

  11. April 3, 2017 / 8:44 pm

Haha that Godzilla image is hilarious.
I would be that jerk who would yell out “I object” in rehersal! 😳 It’s funny…
Amazing that your dress doesn’t need any major alterations! That’s a HUGE win.
I saw your makeup trials on IG! It lasted so well – very impressive! But did you REALLY test it out by simulating the wedding day by kissing everyone, crying, and doing loads of eating? πŸ˜‰
Oh no, sorry to hear the favours needed to be rebooted. I’m sure the results will be worth it!
Why don’t you just take it easy on yourself and take a hiatus from blogging? Hmmm?! πŸ˜‰

    • April 3, 2017 / 8:45 pm

I can guest post about why weddings aren’t worth it. πŸ˜†

    • April 3, 2017 / 9:38 pm

I did eat a nice and greasy Chinese takeaway on Saturday! And I will not be kissing anyone, I’m the awkward person who just can’t deal with the formality, all about the hugs though, so I will awkwardly tip my head to ensure no rubbing!
That would definitely not be funny especially as we had to stand up in front of a whole church as the first couple of the year to get married. πŸ˜†
Blogging is the outlet that’s keeping me sane at the moment, I’m winding down a little, but I can’t stop because I will probably literally morph into that bridezilla toy because my life will become all consumed!

      • April 5, 2017 / 2:44 am

Aw I hate hugging and kissing too. But it’s just expected at weddings and large family gatherings!

  12. April 4, 2017 / 2:32 pm

This is all so exciting! The bathroom baskets are such a thoughtful idea, I love it. If you didn’t get a little stressed over all the faffy bits and pieces people would think you are superhuman! Haha, it looks like it is all coming together lovely πŸ™‚ xxx

  13. April 4, 2017 / 3:03 pm

God this all sounds so stressful! I can’t believe you’re still blogging, LOL! I hope everything goes well for you through the big day! πŸ™‚

    • April 4, 2017 / 3:10 pm

Blogging is the only thing keeping me feeling normal and Sane! Struggling to keep up with the reading side of it though If I read two posts a day at the moment I’ve done well!

  14. April 6, 2017 / 7:26 pm

It’s so exciting watching everything coming together and reading this just makes me wish I could do it all again. I think most women get a little bridezilla-y as the day draws near but I’m certain it will all come together for you and then you can just enjoy.

  15. April 7, 2017 / 8:16 pm

it sounds like you have got everything under control – enjoy the next two months as best you can!

  16. April 9, 2017 / 1:34 pm

So excited for you. Your big day is almost here!

  17. April 18, 2017 / 12:03 pm

You are doing your makeup yourself? Have you previously divulged this information?

    • April 18, 2017 / 12:42 pm

I am definitely not doing my makeup myself! Everyone thought I would be but when ever I need my makeup to go right it goes wrong so someone is doing it for me!
