The Ultimate Lipstick Organisation – Vanity Decay Review

I’ve not been happy with my Lipstick organisation for a while, I’ve had a tower of drawers which make it awkward to see what I have or know where things are easily, and a small leather set of drawers. which I store everything I’ve either reviewed or I’m not planning to review. As a result some absolute favourites which I love, once they’ve been reviewed get tucked away and not reached for as much as they should.

When an email from Vanity Decay slid into my email box asking if I’d like to try something from their range, a quick scan through their online shop answered the question easily. Yes, yes I did. They have a few different ranges of items but the ones that caught my attention most was their range of lipstick towers, and what impressed me even more was the prices they came in at. I’ve looked at this type of storage before and the costs can run over £100, so seeing a range priced so reasonably had me even more happy to try one out.

I picked up their largest Lipstick Tower, which holds a whopping 104 lipsticks, I chose the white colour, ‘Snow Queen’ as I know from experience how quickly black acrylic can look dusty (even more so when you live with two dogs), however they do also have a black option, or a more glitzy silver and gold version should you prefer. These are priced at £54.99 each, cheaper than other options I’ve seen for holding this quantity. What I really like about this one, is that it has a space at the top, to place your favourites like the crown jewels, most lust-worthy packaged LE’s or in my case, the ones which I’m actively trying to review currently. It is worth noting that chunky square lipsticks such as the NARS Audacious lipsticks do not fit in the top, but they do fit easily on the sides. I love the way this easily rotates so I can see everything at ease, I’ve organised mine via brand as most of the time I know which I’m looking for.

The 104 size doesn’t take up a huge footprint, and I was wanting this to be something that would give me growing room for future. I’ve kept out the ones which I should probably de-clutter, and if I don’t reach for them in the next few months, I’ll be donating to family & friends to take of my hands. There’s a smaller one which holds 48 lipsticks, with a square flat space on top which could be used for lip balms, weird shaped lipsticks and glosses that don’t fit in the holes, or a perfume.

Whilst I’ve chosen not too, the holes are just long enough to store stubbier length liquid lipsticks or glosses, such as the NYX Soft Matte, Lip Creams or Butter glosses they do stick out slightly more than a lipstick, but not so much it looks ridiculous or they become unbalanced.

I’m impressed with the quality of the acrylic, I’ve bought cheap acrylic storage makeup options and more expensive ones, and this one is up there with the best. i’ve found cheaper acrylic can have an almost milky scratched appearance, and this is crystal clear and robust.

In addition to the lipstick towers, they also do a Makeup Tower, which I’m quite tempted by to keep my current favourites & items being tested separated out from the rest, it holds a mixture for blushes, small shadow palettes, and lipsticks, with a box on each end which could hold brushes – or liquid lipsticks, glosses, eyeliners or mascaras for me would work even better.

You can get 10% off your purchases using the code ‘Rachael10’ on the Vanity Decay website now. They have an ahhh-mazing swoon worthy collection that will help you get your stash in order. Best of all, they ship worldwide at a very reasonable rate considering the packages will be big and bulky.

*Sadly it seems as if the Vanity Decay Website has disappeared, If it ever goes back up I’ll relink everything I mentioned! πŸ™ *

Wowsers! This is lipstick organization heaven! I love how there’s NO wasted space! Looks like the slots pretty much fit most standard lipsticks… I’m trying to think if my bulky ones like the Guerlain Rouge G or Anna Sui would fit. Hrm.

It’s literally the perfect organiser! Small footprint and not excessively thick walls that would make it bulkier!
It fits in a Mac box / NARS audacious but that’s pretty much a perfect fit (kept the Mariah packaging cause it’s too pretty to throw away haha! So did trial)

I’ve been eyeing these towers since they first came into the market but they’ve been so expensive that I just didn’t find it worth investing on. This seems like so much better. πŸ˜ƒ

that is so beautiful! and the perfect way to store everything! I’ve got mujii drawers but they’re stacked double per drawer so some haven’t seen the light of day in a while! X

I have some knock off muji drawers but I’m planning on getting the real deal as I’ve eyed them in the store and like they’re a bit deeper than what I have, definitely better for anything else other than lipsticks though, they’re too deep! X
