Look Incredible March 2017 – Review & Unboxing

After the first two months of the year saw me trial both the regular and deluxe version of the Look Incredible box, I finally decided to just keep with the regular version of the box.

The introductory spiel on these boxes for those who are new, the Look Incredible regular boxes retail at £21.49 (inc delivery) per month and include 5 full size products, usually from high-end brands, and predominately makeup based. Brands in the past have included MAC, Urban Decay, NARS and Bareminerals to name but a few. I’ve tried two of their deluxe boxes in the past which retail at £34.99 – the differences between these two boxes in terms of value and product are pretty minimal The reason I decided to keep the regular box was because that I felt that £34.99 was just too much to gable my money away on each month – and the value between the two boxes wasn’t relatively comparable. If you’re thinking of subscribing I’d recommend checking out my January and February posts as it gives a detailed breakdown of value/brands compared one against the other, I also did a roundup of the brands/types of products that featured after a year of being subscribed, you can check that out here.

The box felt heavy this month which normally has me wary, heaviness normally means body creams that I’ll struggle to use up. But it had me surprised as there was actually six products in this months box, I think that’s the first time it’s happened.

Spa Retreats Signature Softening Hand and Body Lotion – RRP £9.99

First up the product that was making the box heavy. I’ve had three items from this weird mystery brand I can’t see or find anything about via this box. I’m convinced this is a own made brand by a website that is listed on the back, but they don’t actually stock the products on their site. I think I might give this away to one of my friends or pop it in my giveaway box, I have enough body lotion to last me a life time for how often I use it, and I hate having hand creams this big, I have no idea where I’d put it as it’s so bloody tall!

Ciate Velvet Manicure Set – RRP £9.99

This is another one of those Ciate sets I’m just not likely to use. I’m not a huge fan of Ciate and even less so of these ‘trend’ nail art kits. They’re something I often see in my local CCO and TK Maxx so always take the RRP of these with a pinch of salt as I can always find them cheaper. This contains a polish and a ‘velvet’ fibres vial that creates a fluffy kind of effect, it sounds quite cool, but I can’t imagine what happens after you’ve gotten your hands wet. The colour of this is a nice pale grey though.

Bareminerals Eyeshadow Quad in The A List – RRP £25

I received a Quad in a box last year and it was one of my favourite makeup item discoveries of the year, the pigmentation of the Soundtrack palette was incredible and I had to hide it from myself as I couldn’t stop myself from using it. I have picked up subsequent ones since in TK Maxx and been less than impressed, so we’ll see how this one fairs, I’m already hopeful as I like the shade selection and the sparkly shadows on the left of this palette are particularly pretty! Fingers crossed this palette fairs better than my last quad from BM!

Fusion Beauty Primer – RRP £14.99

I had a primer in the past from Fusion Beauty which I’ve still been yet to try. I must say I really like the packaging style of these primers, they look and feel a bit more luxe than their £14.99 price tag. This is a colour correcting primer in a green tone to cancel out redness from the skin. I may start using this immediately, I have redness from a breakout near my mouth and cheek on one side so it’s a perfect time to start putting it to the test.

Ilia Tinted Lip Conditioner – RRP £22

I’ve never even heard of this brand before! This is a lip balm which is tinted in a pretty rose red hue. I imagine this is going to look really pretty, and the packaging of this product is lovely. I’ve looked up the brand and whilst it seems to be quite widely stocked in the US in Sephora and Antrhropoligie to name a few, it doesn’t seem like it has a mainstream stockist here. Regardless I’m interested to try this out.

Purple CC Stick – RRP ? – Brand ?

Lastly this is a bit of a mystery item, included as an extra as it’s not listed on the card this month. This is a colour correcting stick in a lilac tone to adjust dullness in the skin. This is labelled with the words tester, so it’s clearly an excess of stock that’s being cleared, other than it’s labelled with Proctor and Gamble, I have no idea of the product name or brand which it definitely comes from – but a quick online search suggests that it’s Max Factor with an RRP of £9.99, a nice little bonus item.

I had a peek at the deluxe version of the box and I don’t think I would have preferred the contents of it this month, my ideal box would have been a blend of the two. The Deluxe box featured a Marc Jacobs gloss (I don’t wear gloss, so whilst the brand name is impressive I’d probably not have used or wore the product), A Cargo eyeshadow palette (which I actually spotted in TK Maxx and it was just a plain neutral palette), a Urban Decay Liner, A Nails Inc polish (there was nails inc polishes just last month in both boxes) and a Laura Gellar powder of some form (I can’t tell what it is as I haven’t seen a review, I’m just instagram spying).

What do you think of this month’s box?

I don’t think there’s anything that particularly wows me. I don’t colour correct really as I haven’t got the time πŸ˜‚the palette looks lovely but I think a touch too pink for me personally and again the primer focuses on redness which I don’t have. Still not bad value for money though! Xxx

Haha funny how a heavy box means bad news because of body creams – glad it wasn’t the case!
Ick, the velvet mani from Ciate looks like corpse nails! Not attractive at all…
Fingers crossed this BareMinerals quad is a good one! The colours look lovely – would suit you so well!
Ilia Beatuy is Canadian! I’ve only recently heard of the brand and have been curious to try something.
I googled “Purple CC Stick” and found this:
You’re right, looks like it’s a Max Factor product!

What a random Tester at the end!! I was going to say it looks like Maybelline! I don’t bother with colour correcting usually but the primer does have nice packaging! The Ciate set freaks me out a little haha but I would be interested to see what it looks like on xxx

Yeah I don’t have time to draw stuff all over my face, but if the primer does the job as well as priming then I can get down with it! I just don’t understand what all hppen when you wash your hands, surely it will just go horrible straight away?

Looks like a great box! I’m pretty sure the CC stick is Max Factor as you say, as I have a few of their CC sticks and they look exactly the same. x

Although it’s great that you get a good selection of products and get your money’s worth, I don’t think I’d be keen on the idea of possibly getting products I wasn’t that bothered about. I love the colours of those nail varnishes but I’m not convinced on the whole velvet finish thing. I will be very interested to hear how you get on with the products after you’ve used them (if you do!)

I love your comment on Ciate sets haha My hubby hates it when I use them too, particularly their cavier range.
