W7 It’s Magic Makeup Remover Cloth Review

W7 It’s Magic Makeup Remover Cloth Review

Towards the end of last year I spotted yet another cult favourite dupe from my local CCO store which carries a large amount of W7 products, I had thoughts on the product immediately, and it took a lot of will power to not write a review up on the W7 It’s Magic Makeup Remover Cloth straight away.

Last year I saw reviews of the Makeup Eraser cloth, a soft flannel that was everywhere on my youtube, promising to remove makeup quickly and easily with just water. There was a catch in that it came with a high price tag (I think around £17), and wasn’t easy to get you hands on in the UK (it is now available at the Beauty Bay). Step forward W7’s It’s Magic, which came with a much more palatable £3.99 cost.

From first use I knew this worked and did the job of stripping the face of makeup with the aid of no water quickly, however I wanted to test it out over a number of months, with different makeup products and more importantly to see how the product washed.

Whilst I had the foresight to keep the box for the review, I did not have the foresight like I would with makeup of taking pictures of this all fresh and new in case after time it got destroyed through washing. Luckily 5 months on this is still going strong and it’s been through the washing machine weekly, I really can’t fault the quality of it and I’ve been on the hunt this weekend just gone in my CCO for another couple of backups and unfortunately they didn’t have them in stock.

The flannel is super soft and has almost a microfibre kind of feel. In terms of size it’s not as deep as a regular flannel, but it’s long, overall I’d guess that this is about double the size of a flannel. I manage to get 4 uses out of this before it needs washing using each side in two halves. I’ve tried rinsing out mascara residues with water, soaps and cleansers, and it’s stubborn, it really needs a washing machine to get it back bright pink and clean.

This removes everything from my foundation to my mascara, even my extremely stubborn Illamasqua precision ink liner comes off with some light rubbing over the eyes.

Whilst I’ve tried my usual trick of following up with a micellar water to try and find traces of any makeup left behind and have been surprised to find that my cotton pads come off completely clean, I think there’s something to be said about the clean feeling that a cleanser gives you – the routine of using a cleanser instantly instils a clean feel in my head. I do however like pairing this with cleansers which are not great at removing makeup with using this as a first step to wipe away any residue.

I do think however if you’re someone with really sensitive skin that is prone to reacting with any skincare then this is a great thing to have. Regardless this is not only something that I have and enjoy using it’s something I want to get backups of to keep on me, I can find flannels quite scratchy, especially after they’ve been washed an dried several times and this has stayed super soft and comfortable to use.

Have you tried the Makeup Eraser, W7 It’s Magic Makeup Remover Cloth  or tried anything similar?

I wanted to get this last time at my local Sephora. But I couldn’t justify getting it if it was gonna be just like any other microfiber wash cloth. I keep eyeing it though! Seeing it work nicely on you makes me want to try it myself.

Oh my god yes yes yes!! This is seriously a life changing discovery. I swear by my makeup eraser, never even thought to look for a dupe!!!! Need to find this somewhere ASAP- thank you so so much for writing this! x

This sounds amazing, I was interested in the makeup eraser but, as you say, it is expensive and I didn’t know where to get it in the UK without a huge bump up in price. This definitely sounds worth a try, I’ll have to see if I can find somewhere that stocks it, or maybe risk Amazon and get one. I’ve never tried w7 products before as they seemed a bit hit and miss in reviews but this sounds good.

I had the Makeup Eraser sent to me as PR awhile back and I’ve been so impressed with it. It really takes everything off and leaves my face feeling clean. I can get a couple uses out of it before having to toss it in the wash (I just throw it in with an old load of laundry). Impressed with how well it washes up too.

I tried the “Wonder Cloth” before which purports to do the same thing as this type of cloth – I did NOT like it. In general, I just don’t like rubbing my skin very much because it gets irritated from manual manipulation. I prefer melting off my makeup than forcibly rubbing it off my skin. It’s cool that W7 duped the Eraser cloth for such a cheap price though!

Hmm, I didn’t find that I really needed to rub too hard or too much with this at all, it’s so soft I didn’t find it irritated me at all! I can see how the manual motion would cause that though, I find the same with normal flannels but this is much softer in comparison and swipes it away much easier

I’ve been looking for something similar but can’t find anything yet. Also, I would rather get something affordable LOL. It kills me to buy such expensive products sometimes LOL.

This looks a good dupe. I debated buying the real version as I saw it in Boots last year, but it’s quite pricey. I’d rather try this one out☺ x

This sounds really good! The skin on my face can be particuarly sensitive so most times a face cloth and water is best for me. If I incorporate new skincare and cleansing products into my routine, I do it one at a time so I can pinpoint changes and know exactly what I’ve reacted to.

I do too, whilst I’m not unusually sensitive it’s a lot easier to see how each product individually effects the skin rather than trying a whole host of new potions at once!

This sounds really interesting – I’ve never managed to remove every last scrap of make up without product (even sometimes with a great product)! I have to say, I really do like indulging in my skin care routine in the evenings though, taking the time to have a mini pamper helps me unwind after a day of chaos! At w7 prices though, it would still be something I’d try out just to see!

It’s quite nice if you’ve got really heavy makeup on to remove all the residue before you start swiping it around the face. It’s rare I do use this just by itself, whilst it does work I need the routine to feel properly clean! zz

    • March 9, 2017 / 2:24 pm

It’s a great first cleanse, if you feel a bit grimey or wearing a lot of makeup it’s a nice way to feel clean rather than like you’re smushing it around your face! X

I was so skeptical of these when they first launched, and then as the hype dropped down the difficulty to buy one meant I didn’t ever get sucked in, but I think I would be interested to try one seeing your review and how impressive it is! xx

W7 does SO many good dupes! I picked up the makeup eraser online but haven’t used it yet! Looks like it did a great job! 😍 Photos are gorgeous as always! Xx
