Tony Moly I’m Real Tea Tree Sheet Mask – Face Mask Friday #32

Tony Moly I'm Real Tea Tree Sheet Mask

Yet another sheet mask for this month’s Face Mask Friday (and yet again it’s another Tony Moly one… sorry that will probably be the case for a while!). I don’t have many non sheet masks left to try, and I’ve been desperately trying to finish up some other multi-use ones before I crack out another one. So lets crack on with my thoughts on the Tony Moly I’m Real Tea Tree Sheet Mask.

Last week my skin seemed like it was about to start it’s third mini freak out since Christmas, right before my Hen Party. My sister also said her skin was breaking out via text and I said crack out the tea tree… naturally in my house I could not find my own Tea Tree, but I did remember that I had a Tea Tree mask from industrial sized variety box from Tony Moly, waiting and ready to go, so Thursday night I lay in bed just before going to sleep and enjoyed it for as long as I possibly could.

I was wondering just how nice a tea tree mask would be, I know the Body Shop do one (or did one?) however being a cream based one you can place it not close to the eyes. Tea Tree is a pretty intense smell that makes my eyes water when it gets too close, and with a sheet mask you can’t really control the proximity to your eyes… unless you fancy doing some DIY adjustments with a pair of scissors to the mask.

Luckily my paper snowflake skills were not required to butcher the mask, it smelt vaguely of Tea Tree, but really more alcoholic than Tea Tree, when I inspected the ingredients list Tea Tree was the 14th, and last thing listed so I imagine the quantities were quite low. This mask was very very wet and watery feeling, by far the wettest out of all the Tony Moly ones I’ve tried thus far, it was so wet it ended up with the ability.

There was nothing after removing the mask that immediately made me think it had done any thing of note. On inspection the next morning I noticed that overall my complexion was more neutral, it was looking quite red. The spots that I had coming up on my cheeks, forehead and noticeably chin did look like they had shrunk a little since the evening before. Was my skin perfect by morning? No. Do I think this helped get the situation in order? Yes.

Other than it helping calm the skin down completely, I woudn’t say this had any additional effects for me. I didn’t walk away feeling like my face was nourished or moisturised. And whilst I think it did sooth the skin, I didn’t find it particularly fresh feeling as I expected I would. But never the less for a breakout situation I’d use this again, I just wouldn’t expect the biggest miracles from it.

Are you a tea tree fan? It was a product my Mum had bottles of for spot control for my sister and I when we were younger and it’s automatically an ingredient I gravitate towards now! Have you tried the Tony Moly I’m Real Tea Tree Sheet Mask?

I have tea tree essential oil but I need to find a decent diy solution for my acne.

I haven’t used a tea tree product for ages but I was a fan many years ago. I tried too the Tony Moly sheet masks and my favourite is the one with avocado.

I dislike tea tree immensely! 😛 The smell is so off-putting to me. It is also too harsh for my skin to use regularly. But, I’m glad this mask helped a little. I just used my other Tony Moly maks, the aloe version. I liked it more than the makgeolli version for sure.

I always had Tea Tree gels for acne as a teenager and I still have Tea Tree oil at home for different needs, even TBS Tea Tree range is one of my favourite acne range I have tried to date although I have to admit when you start using it, attack on your eyes is real but it goes down with regular use.

I have a bottle is tea tree oil I use for various purposes. I sprinkle a few drops on the cat beds to keep fleas away (it’s a natural flea repellent). I use a drop or 2 in the bath and it makes my skin feel soft.

Oh and the only Tony Moly sheet mask I’ve tried is the red wine one. It was ok but nothing special. I still like my Sephora green tea one and the peppermint cocoa one from The Creme Shop. The latter was limited edition fir the holidays though and I only have a couple left in the box. My skin has had a mind of its own the last couple weeks and it’s annoying the crap out of me! 😂

I would never be drawn to a tree tree mask for the simple fact of what you mentioned – the smell of it right near my eyes! I’m glad you enjoyed the mask; this is the first of this series I’ve seen on your blog so I’m going to go and look at the previous weeks! Hope you had a great hen do xxx

I have tried numerous Tony Moly masks and I’m always let down by them. I don’t know why! I guess I just feel like I didn’t get a result from them. I did try a mask called the WOW Mask, I think that’s all they sell. Just the mask and it’s not a cheap one. =( BUT…. I swear everytime I use it my skin is GLOWING for like 2 days. So, I know masks can be strong performers, but it’s hard to find really great ones I think.

Sadly, I can’t bear the smell of Tea Tree (however this product might be OK if it isn’t that overpowering) but judging by your review, I will find an alternative. I’ve seen so much about Tony Moly recently so it’s great to see an honest write up. I didn’t realise you were supposed to keep them on overnight too?!

The scent is very very light in this, but wouldn’t scream this from the rooftops as something that you absolutely must try as it’s a miracle worker, so safe in skipping I think! I probably wasn’t clear I didn’t wear this overnight, I just relaxed in bed with it on before sleeping!
