Face Mask Friday #31 – Boots Ingredients Lotus Flower & Tiger Lily Sheet Mask

I’d heard good things from a few bloggers about the new Ingredients face masks from Boots, so when I spotted them last week I swiped one up to try. There’s currently five different types available and I opted for the Lotus Flower & Tiger Lily mask.

Priced at £2.50 (although I got mine on offer for £2), I feel like it’s kind of expensive for a Boots own brand product that’s single use given they have other masks for 99p, but I’m guessing that’s the price you pay for having the product actually made in Korea.

The packaging of these masks is fun and bright featuring pictures of the core ingredients of each mask. I opted for the Lotus Flower and Tiger Lily mask which is for Radiance and Brightening, after a few busy weekends, and not enough sleep my skin is definitely in need of something to waken it up and make it look fresh.

The mask is designed to be left on for fifteen minutes and used after cleansing on a clean complexion. The sheet is very thin and the more of a tissue texture rather than a gel one. I was expecting that this might have a strong floral fragrance, however whilst it’s not unscented it’s light and pleasant. The serum that drenches the mask is a cloudy/milky fluid. Initially the mask felt cooling but after 30 seconds or so my face started to tingle almost uncomfortably.

I tend to always leave sheet masks on for a bit longer than prescribed and usually watch them whilst watching TV so they’re not going to fall off with motion. This one however I wasn’t able to, the mask dried out quickly and I don’t think I quite made it to the full fifteen minutes – beginning to peel away and lose it’s ability to cling.

Removing the mask I rubbed any remaining serum, after it had sank in my skin felt moisturised and looking in the mirror my skin looked a little red, I was worried that it was the beginning of an allergic reaction after the tingly feeling, but that soon died down and my skin did look brighter and more radiant. I’m not sure that I would recommend the mask if you had sensitive skin as the tingly feeling might be more irritating.

I think Boots have done a good job with their slice of Korean beauty, and it’s a bit of a genius move given that the K-beauty market is still not particularly easy to get your hands on here. I’m left curious to try some more from the line, hopefully next time I go into Boots they’ll have the full range to choose from as they only had three out of five this time.

Have you tried the new sheet masks from Boots?

I wanna try this! But I don’t think it’s a brand I can find here. So I might have to find it online somewhere.

I was looking at these but I held off as it is pricey for Boots. My skin’s sensitive too, so I’m glad I read this☺ x

I absolutely love face masks but I’ve never tried a sheet one. Not sure why, they’ve just never appealed to me. Maybe I’ll have to give one of these a go.

Lotus Flower + Tiger Lily sounds right up my street!I love sheet masks and my favourite ones so far have been the Sephora ones (shame as they’re not easy to get over here), but to be honest give me a face mask of any sort and I’m happy! Not tried Boots own brand yet – you’re going to be costing me a fortune next time I go in!

This sounds really good! As you say Korean skincare is hard to get hold of so ive never tried any, I will definitely head to boots to see which of these I can find as the review sounds really good, and I don’t mind a tingly face mask! X

Not bad for Β£2! Escpecially when there are some out there ranging at Β£20 and they do the same thing! Good buy! Bit gutted there wasn’t a photo with it on though πŸ˜›
