Look Incredible Box – January 2017

If  you saw yesterday’s review you would have seen that this month I decided to try the ‘Deluxe’ version of the Look Incredible Box, as well as the regular version. You can go and check out that review here if you haven’t already seen it – but if not stay tuned to the regular version.

For the benefit of those who haven’t seen the Look Incredible reviews before, the box features 5 full size items each month. The box averages a total value of around the £65-£75 mark, it tends to be more makeup focused rather than anything else, however this month there’s unusally more items that aren’t makeup than are. If you’re interested in seeing . The box is priced at £18.99 per month – and with delivery it comes to £21.49, personally I think it offers great value for money – however the last few months I’ve felt a bit more ‘meh’ over the contents inside – which was why I wanted to try out the deluxe version as well to compare, and consider maybe upgrading my subscription.

Bareminerals 5-in-1 BB Advanced Eyeshadow in Primer in Soft Moss – £18

look-incredible-box-review-january-2017-7

This is an interesting product, I’ve never seen or heard of it before. This is a 5 in 1 BB cream eyeshadow or primer, it’s a really unusual greyish, greenish beige – I probably wouldn’t use this as an eyeshadow as it’s not my colour but I think it would make a really great primer. If you did want a long-lasting cream shadow this might be a great shout though – I swatched this on my hand whilst watching The Office in bed last night and never wiped it off, it was still perfectly on my hand in the morning (and I’m a big jiffler!).

Bareminerals Daily Recovery Concentrate – £19.99

look-incredible-box-review-january-2017-6

Another Bareminerals product in this months box but this time it’s skincare. I’ve recently had a bareMinerals skincare serum sample which I’ve seriously considered re-buying as I really got along with it so I’m looking forward to trying this out. Described as created to ‘improve skin elasticity visibly and leave skin soft, hydrated and increase resilience over time.

Too Faced Flatbuki Brush – £12

look-incredible-box-review-january-2017-4

How pretty is this brush? It’s going to make a perfect accompaniment to the soul mates bronzer I got in the Deluxe box. Made with synthetic ‘Teddy Bear hair’ that’s super soft and luxurious feeling – I’ve enjoyed just swiping this all over my clean face as it’s so nice feeling!

Bee Good Honey & Camelina Facial Exfoliator – £10.50

look-incredible-box-review-january-2017-5

I was really excited about this, but I’ve just seen in the description that it contains lavender which I’m allergic to. If you saw the deluxe post you’ll know that Bee Good is a brand I’ve tried before and loved, annoyingly I’ve ran out of exfoliator so could have done with a new one, but it’ll have to head to the giveaway pile or it’s not going to do my skin any favours!

Rosie for Autograph Dream Big Lashes – £15.00

look-incredible-box-review-january-2017-8

I’ve been really curious about M&S’s Rosie for Autograph line, I like that M&S’s own line seems to be cropping up in Beauty boxes as I’ve had a perfume in another box in the past. I recently bought my Mum a cream shadow stick from the line and she told me it’s as good as her Bobbi Brown one which she loves – I’ve been wanting to try something for myself. This mascara ‘Dream Big’ sounds exactly like my kind of thing and I can’t wait to try it, I have loads of mascaras on the go at the moment so it’ll be a while before I get to it, but this one I’m definitely saving for myself rather than the giveaway pile!

This is one of the best boxes that there has been recently, it’s unusual that there isn’t a lip product inside it at all this month and there’s not a product in here that I’m not excited to try. The total value of the box this month was a whopping £75.49 – not a bad investment on £21.49 at all hey?

I’m doing a roundup on my thoughts after being subscribed to Look Incredible for a year, and also what my thoughts are on the deluxe versus the ‘regular’ box in a post later in the week. What do you think of this months box?

Looks good! I was also disappointed with the last few so I unsubscribed last month. 2 lip products per box all being pink shades started to get boring. I knew this would happen – they improved the box ..!

I know! I am trying out beauty pie now. Just because it seems that everyone gets better shades compared to me in surprise boxes. I guess there will be no element of surprise but at least usable (hopefully) products 🙂

I’m so curious about beauty pie, I’m waiting for there to be a bit more of a selection of products though as I don’t think I could buy 3 months worth of stuff with the current selection!

I’m not subscribed but this box doesn’t really do it for me 🙁 I’m not a huge bare minerals fan (from what I’ve tried) and I have skin care coming out my ears haha! I loved the Too Faced Blush/Bronzer you got in the deluxe box tho! I love Carrie and Big! Xxx

This is unusual there’s usually only one (or often even none) skincare item each month – so the fact there’s 2 is really unusual!
I did a tot up of all the brands last night from across the year and bareMinerals came out as the top brand – I hadn’t tried much from them before being subscribed, and was never that bothered about them, but actually the pieces I’ve had have actually wowed me!
Can’t wait to use Carrie and Big! xx

You are definitely tempting me to subcribe to Look Incredible. I’m already subscribed to GlossyBox and Look Fantastic – but most of the time I never get real size products. I guess that’s what I get for subscribing to the less expensive deals!

I was subbed to Glossybox for 3 years – got sick of the cycle going round and the sizes seemingly getting smaller and smaller. I’ve never been subbed to Look Fantastic, but personally I’d rather spend a bit more and have enough of a product to actually use and make a decision on! I’ve got a full round up Friday on my thoughts of the pros and cons of the service and an overview of the boxes for the full year so stay tuned it might be helpful making a decision!

i have not tried the Rosie line yet but i really want to. I think it is really interesting 🙂

I’ve played with those Bare Minerals cream shadows/primers in the past. They’re very pretty and very long lasting.

  6. January 17, 2017 / 11:33 pm

The 5-in-1 sounds interesting… never heard of that product before either. I’ve heard that bareMinearls makes a really good eye primer (in a squeeze tube)

Oh too bad about that Bee Good product containing lavender which you can’t use. I guess that’s always a risk with these boxes.

    • January 18, 2017 / 9:38 am

I think this is only the third product I’ve had that contains lavender in 5 years of beauty boxes, I seem to have got away relatively scott free surprisingly!
