Christmas Beauty Tag

I saw this tag over on Stashy’s blog and wanted to take part, it’s been ages since I’ve done a tag – and I’ve been a bit behind this week on the posts thanks to not getting any blogging done over the weekend thanks to needing to put my house back in order after having a load of kitchen work done, and our bathroom retiled (great timing a week before Christmas!). I had Monday off work where I was planning to catch up, but ended up finishing up my Christmas shopping and started wrapping so didn’t get chance.

1. Have you been naughty or nice this year with your skincare routine?

This year I’ve been much better than I ever have been before. I now use oils and serums regularly, and have found a proper SPF that works for me under makeup so I now use that frequently. I’ve definitely found more of a routine and discovered a handful of products that really work for me that keeps me wanting to use them

2. What’s the go-to beauty, makeup, or skincare product you would gift to your family and friends?

Hmm, that’s a hard one, I don’t think there is one product that I would pick overall for everybody – most of my friends and family would have very different tastes so I could quite easily pick things for people individually that I think they’d love. Something like a Body Shop gift set could suit everyone, but I’d probably be more likely to pick out a lip product I think they’d love – you can never have too many lipsticks!

3. Do you mind gifting high-end products or rather gift drugstore products to others?

No opinion either way on this, it depends on your budget for the person! I think buying more luxury items if you have the budget is nice because you can maybe treat someone to something they wouldn’t buy for themselves.

4. What are the beauty products you’re hoping to get to see under your Christmas tree this year?

I don’t actually ever ask for any beauty products, I’m so specific of what I want to try next that I don’t actually end up with anything on my list to ask for. Most of the list I create now is joint presents for myself and Ben! I normally end up with some form of beauty gift set from someone. Last year I got this one from Ted Baker:

5. What is the beauty product that you’re dreading to receive for Christmas this year?

Probably that set above haha, I was actually pleasently surprised when I got it, but the products I’ve tried from it so far have been crap. If I got a load more products I’d probably give them away!

6. Are you participating in Blogmas this year? If so what is the post you’re most proud of so far?

I blog usually every day through the whole year anyway, so I’m not really doing blogmas – I’m just continuing as normal haha. This is the first christmassy post of the year though! My Favourite post so far this month are probably my Current Favourites and Wedding Planning #5.

7. Do you remember the first beauty product you received as a Christmas gift? What was it and did you enjoy it?

urban-decay-book-of-shadows

I don’t remember the first specifically, but a standout item came from my sister who bought me the Urban Decay NYC Book of Shadows – I still use it and still adore it, I’ve been meaning to do a beauty TBT on this item!

8. What mini size product would you recommend as a great stocking stuffer?

boots-matte-me-sleek

Hmm, Sleek have a great mini set in Boots this year which I’ve bought for a giveaway in future. It features 4 of their Matte Liquid Lipsticks and is only a fiver. You can split them up for different people or give them all to one person!

9. Would you rather your friends and family ask you gifts you wanted to receive or have them surprise you?

Depends on the person, there’s some people who would have absolutely no idea what to get me if I didn’t give them a list of things to get. Equally listing everything you want is so boring, I can’t imagine anything worse on Christmas day than everyone knowing what’s inside every package with no luck of surprise!

10. What is your favorite way to show Christmas spirit through your look or outfit?

Something a bit sparkly or metallic clothes wise while still being comfortable (especially when you have 2 dogs to entertain around lots of family!) is important. I like wearing my hair curly as it feels more dressy, and a red lip with a metallic or glittery eye is always a nice to feel extra festive. I don’t like spending loads of time getting ready on Christmas though – I want to go enjoy the day not spending an hour getting a banging smokey eye!

Feel free to tag yourself, I wasn’t tagged myself but would love to see your answers!

P.s if you didn’t know I’m running a giveaway to win this gorgeous set of Makeup, it ends on friday so make sure you enter if you haven’t already by clicking here.

Oh god I hate Ted Baker sets. They look so pretty but the products inside are useless. Also Bayliss and Harding. I warn people not to buy me their stuff😂 x

I’m trying to force myself to use the hand cream up at the moment but it’s horrible. For such a premium high street brand they’ve done a seriously crap job on their beauty products. Euch Bayliss and Harding – anything but their soaps should not exist. Soaps are okay at a push!

Oh gosh I got a massive set the other year and I just threw it all after one use. They really have. Their packagings nice but products are awful. Haha they’re another brand whose packagings nice enough but awful products x

Yay! You did the tag! 😀
So good that you discovered skincare that you’ve incorporated into your routine!
That Ted Baker set looks dreamy – too bad it wasn’t good! I still wish we had Ted Baker beauty here – we do have their stores but clothing and accessories only.
Wow, that UD NYC Book of Shadows would be so amazing to unwrap on Christmas morning!
