The Body Shop Glazed Apple Body Scrub

Glazed Apple Body Shop

Time for something festive, I haven’t been great at organising myself with festive posts this year, I had big plans of doing some festive makeup looks (I still might manage to squeeze one or two in as I have day off work in the week next week) – but kitchen work, bathroom retiling has turned my house totally upside down. Luckily there is actually one festive product that’s been on the go for the past month or so. The Body Shop’s Glazed Apple scent is the next one from my big pile of TBS body scrubs that got placed in my shower to use up!

The Glazed Apple version of the scent like mine is actually last year’s edition – I picked this up in the summer sale and have only started using it over the past month or so since finishing up another. This is back again this winter with the mildly updated ‘Spiced Apple’ scent. There’s little difference between the two, with this year adding a splash of cinnamon to the mix, if you loved last years scent you’re bound to at least like this one, I did prefer the pure fruitiness of last years but it’s pleasing that they’ve revamped a popular scent rather than killing it off completely.

This is a sugar scrub – which I have a bit of a love hate relationship, I like that the scrubby particles are small, rounded and densely packed as it means it does a really good job whilst not being too harsh. That being said sugar scrubs easily melt and break down when coming into contact with water, so whilst they do the job really well – they’re not the most economical compared to other scrubs such as coffee scrubs or seedy ones, where a one or two small handfuls will normally allow me to keep moving it around my body. I find with this I have to reach in a three of four times of times to get enough to scrub for my whole body.

The texture of this is quite interesting, it’s like a pastey goo and doesn’t on the surface look immediately obvious that it’s a scrub at all. What I like about this is that it resettles itself to a perfect glazey appearance after each use, I don’t know why it gives so much satisfaction – but it does!

Overall I like this scrub, it does the job – but I’m not rushing out to stock up on this year’s Spiced Apple scent.

Sugary scrubs are always tricky to deal with.

I really like this scent but like you I do think I prefer last years glazed apple. This did satisfy my fix though and I do have a shower gel from last year that I’ve been saving! Xx

I love this scent but I have never tried this product. Right now I am trying some coffee scrubs.

I feel the same way about the sugar melting thing. I feel that I needed to use a ton more products to get the job done. (mine is mango)

I think I have this in my stash – a smaller pot that was part of a kit. Still untouched. I LOVED the smell of this though – I’m not in love with this year’s spiced version even though I’ll likely get something in that scent as a gift. I can’t wait to try this.

I picked up the Spiced Apple scrub this year. I don’t mind the scrub itself (unusual as I normally don’t like the BS scrubs I’ve tried – god knows why I keep buying them) but I don’t like the scent. Bleh! It’s like a Christmas-themed car freshener. 😀

I have the spiced apple lip balm that Ben got me in his home made the body shop calendar and I’m not a fan of the scent too much, anything that’s vanilla, cinnamon or overly bakeryesque isn’t my favorite!

I’m not a huge fan of scrubs as it is because i find them so harsh on my skin; its different to the usual scents you find though x
