Look Incredible December 2016 Unboxing

The final Look Incredible Box of 2016 has arrived which now means I’ve had 12 of these boxes! Feels only like 5 minutes that this was the new subscription I was signing myself up for – and now all of a sudden we’re waving goodbye to 2016 and hello to 2017! Let’s hop straight in with the unboxing:

Korres Zea Mays Blush in Apricot

As soon as I saw the shade in this was the shade Apricot, I was excited as I knew I woild probably like the shade inside. I’m a peach toned blush lover and this is a perfect apricot shade with golden shimmer – It’s kind of too shimmery used opaquely (you’ll see the swatches at the end), but over another blush with a light hand – or potentially even as a highlight this will be gorgeous!

Laura Gellar Sheer Lipstick in Rich Pomegranate

Sadly this arrived damaged and smushed in the lid (RIP), This is a perfect pomegranate pink beautiful for this time of year. The swatch of this was balmy and glossy and I could see this being a colour and formula I would easily get obsessed with. Sadly this is definitely too messy to use I’m hoping to get a replacement of this – and hopefully in the same shade too!

Buxom Gloss in Sha-Bang

I was unsure whether to keep this one or not – I’m not the biggest gloss wearer but I know people do like the Buxom Gloss range. The colour Sha-bBang was also a perfect choice for me a gorgeous plummy pink with a shimmering pink fleck through it.

No 7 Intense Volume Mascara

This one is a bit disappointing for me, it’s only been a few months since we got a mascara in Look Incredible and it was a No7 one as well (which I haven’t been getting a long with all that well so far), I think I’ll be popping this one in my giveaway pile!

Spa Retreats Smoothing Body Scrub

look-incredible-december-2016-review-unboxing-2

Mixed feelings on this one, we got a Spa Retreats product last month and whilst I’m happy to have a body scrub alternative that’s not from the Body Shop, it feels a bit repetitive to see the same brand again. I also can not find where this brand is sold online or anything about it – it reminds me of a nice supermarket brand, but not the kind of thing you’d see sold in a proper store. The scent of this is different, I can’t quite decide whether I like it or not, Neroli, Citrus Nobilis and Ylang Ylang. The website listed on the product is chemistdirect.co.uk, but there’s nothing about this brand or product on the site – very odd!

I’m planning on doing a ‘Year of Look Incredible’ post – I’ve subscribed since January and I think I have some thoughts on the subscription after a year – that’ll probably be coming your way next week!

I played with that Korres blush in Greece – it’s lovely! I wan more Korres blushes… still have my eye on that mauvey shade.
They better replace that Laura Geller lipstick – poor smooshed up thing!
Buxom Glosses are probably one of the best ones on the market. I’m not a huge gloss person anymore but theirs I like.
I’d be kind of annoyed getting the same brands / items over and over – I mean, isn’t the point of these boxes to try new things?

Yeah I’m going to take a detailed look for my post as to how things have slipped and changed in the past few months, I have a feeling I know why the change has happened! There definitely feels to have been some brands which are becoming repeat offenders! Time for another pie chart I think!
New Laura Gellar lipstick on it’s way.
The gloss felt sticky on my hand, but it was difficult to budge so I’m kind of okay with it. The shade was very eye-catching too so I think I can be onboard!
Looking forward to playing with the Korres blush, I think I’m gonna enjoy that one!

It looks a pretty good box. Lots of items from good brands and good sized products😊 x

I’ve always thought the Korres Zea Mays line was funny because that’s just the scientific name for corn (mays as in maize!). LOL. But I guess it does sound fancy.

Loving the look of the Buxom gloss.

I was looking at zea mays wondering what I meant, forgot to look it up. Maybe corn is some fancy thing in Greece where Korres originates!
Definitely trying out that buxom gloss it looks pretty!

Corn starch in the product, perhaps? Strange thing to advertise about a makeup product – though I guess I remember a US drugstore powder called Cornsilk!
