Biggest Empties Ever : Body Skincare

One of my smaller categories for this post as I needed to get a quick turn around on this one! Body care I was surprised that I hadn’t used more items up from, but when it comes to body care I rarely have any sample sized items that I still count as an empty as it’s been decluttered from my collection – and I think looking at the list most of what’s here would have been totally fresh starts rather than making my way through a chunk of part used products. So 25 body care items may not be so bad afterall.

Also this is my 700th Post. Woah man.

Grounded Chocolate Orange Scrub (review link)

I really like coffee body scrubs, I can deal with the mess as I really like how they make my skin feel afterwards. These are a little bit on the pricey side and the packaging is not my favourite – who thought papery type packaging is great for the shower.

Repurchase: Yes but I think i’ll try the coconut version next

The Body Shop Early Harvest Raspberry Scrub (review link)

Love this scrub, it’s my favourite body scrub that I’ve tried from TBS. Raspberry scents and flavours are my favourites and I love this scrub as it has lots of different sized scrub particles and I find it super effective.

Repurchase: Most definitely

Caudalie Hand and Nail Cream

I’ve had a few samples of this in the past, I like this formula of hand cream, it’s thinner and reminds me of the Body Shop hand creams.

Repurchase: Probably not, but I’ll always enjoy any samples that I end up getting

Delarom Aqua Confort Cream

I think this came in a Birchbox last year, I was never sure whether this was meant to be a face or body lotion – so I ended up using it on my body as it felt thicker than I’d normally like on my face. I liked this, but it was nothing special.

Repurchase: Nope

Steam Cream

I’ve had this in my stash for way longer than I should have done considering they have a shelf life of just 6 months. Trouble is you don’t need a lot of Steam Cream at once for it to be effective, I used this focussing on any dry patches that needed some love and it’s always been much better the following day.

Repurchase: Maybe, but don’t need to any time soon

Bath and Body Works Vanilla Bean Noel

Stash Matters kindly included this as an extra item after I’d won a giveaway back in spring  – For some reason I used this christmas scented product over summer, and would have been really appropiate to be cracking out now. I’m not normally a big fan of foody scents – vanilla/cinammon etc all tend to turn my stomach but this one I did actually enjoy. Signing the petition for the millionth time. Please come to the UK BBW!

Repurchase: Can’t!

Zoella Wonder Hand Cream (review link)

One thing I don’t like about this is that it’s too bloody big. This took me forever to finish up and it featured in the first products I’m trying to use up as I’d become sick of seeing it. I wish this was a more handbag friendly size, I like to take a handcream with me everywhere, but this was so big it had to sit by my bedside.

Repurchase: Probably not, but I did like the formula.

Original Source Blood Orange Daily Scrub

Smells really good, had many bottles of this in the past, I’ll be coming back to it. It’s got a light scrub texture to it and the term ‘daily scrub’ is definitely appropriate. Ben also enjoys this, it’s a proper sour blood orange smell – a good one for sharing!

Repurchase: Yes

L’Occitaine Pivoine Flora Shower Gel

Prepare for many shower gels! Nice floral scented shower gel from L’Occitaine, but they’re too expensive for what they are, one place I don’t like to splash my cash is definitely shower gels! If I was to purchase a shower product from L’occitaine it would be the almande shower oil – that is delicious and feels very luxe, this feels like a normal shower gel.

Repurchase: No, but will happily use any L’Occitaine sample shower gels I get my hands on.

The Body Shop Pink Grapefruit Shower Gel

This is one of my fave scents from the body shop, I love this over summer and it’ll be a scent that I always come back to.

Repurchase: At the moment no, but come spring – yes!

Philosophy Amazing Grace Shower Gel

Recently received in a QVC beauty box, i used this up straight away. I’d describe this as nice, but I don’t think it’s worth the money of how expensive they are, it’s just a regular shower gel. Also the scent is just nice – I was expecting something really special given the price of these, but it’s just bleh – could definitely find something relatively similar elsewhere.

Repurchase: No

Peter Thomas Roth Mega Cleanse Shower Gel

Don’t normally seem to get on too well with PTR products, but this one was actually quite nice. Not my favourite scent but foams up really well.

Nuxe Prodigeux Shower Gel (review link)

Probably one of the first higher priced shower gels that I’ve tried that I would actually consider trying. I really like this and it isn’t so ridiculously expensive at full size that it would feel like a crazy amount to spend on a shower gel.

Repurchase: Maybe

The Body Shop Virgin Mojito Sorbet

I’m so sad that I’ve finished this up, it’s the last item from last summer’s virgin mojito range, which is my favourite scent ever from the Body Shop. These seem to be a love hate product, personally I find TBS body butters way too heavy for my skin, this is better for me, and in summer was nice and refreshing feeling as it’s like a pastey-gel that feels cooling on the skin.

Repurchase: If I could, I would.

Zhuzh!

A product that I discovered in my stint working in TV shopping and I need to stock up on for our honeymoon, providing we do end up going somewhere sunny! This is a tanning accelerator which increases the skin’s melonin ability to increase it’s ability to tan and the speed in which it does. I’ve seen it with my own eyes on people who normally can’t tan end up looking brown. It also contains shea so moisurises the skin nicely. Still need to use an SPF with this but this will work anytime there is sunshine!

Lush Intergalatic Bath Bomb

To tell you how often I have a bath you’ll be surprised, late last year I did a Christmas Lush Haul, and I still have the majority of what I bought in that haul. This was the only non-Christmas item I bought at the time. I still don’t think they’re worth how expensive they are. Whilst they do make the bath pretty, if I was to have baths way more often then I do then I wouldn’t use them.

H&M Rose Reverie Body Scrub (review link)

This was an okay scrub, the rose scent of it was nice – but it wasn’t the most effective scrub and I didn’t think to check at the time, but it also contains microbeads which I try to avoid in products (thankfully they’re now in the process of being banned in the UK).

Soap and Glory Shower Jelly (review link)

Soap and Glory, I thought this was going to be the product that would make you love you. This whilst smells decisious, I didn’t love the texture, I found that the jelly stayed as a jelly too much and was prone to just falling off my hand before it made it to my body. Also my arms (yep just my arms) are allergic to this, the skin was dry and i’d get red bumps all over, managed to finish it up avoiding my arms but wouldn’t repurchase.

Ted Baker Body Wash

I got this in a set at Christmas last year and have been disappointed with everything that I’ve used so far from Ted Baker. I’m not really a Ted Baker fan, I think their handbags are wildly overpriced for the quality and their style generally isn’t my thing. Considering they’re a premium high street brand (I don’t consider them to be in the designer category, no matter how hard they try), their body care products don’t reflect that premium image. This whole range is very very lightly floral scented, so light they may as well have not bothered.

My Little Beauty Brume de Coco Apres Soleil

I had to have a whiff of this as I rediscovered the bottle in my empties. This might be one of the best smellig products I’ve ever used, it’s an after sun that smells of coconut but has a sweet almost almond like hue to it as well. As an aftersun it did nothing to help soothe when I caught my shoulders in Valencia, shame as it smelt divine.

Novotel Cane Sugar Shampoo

A hotel shampoo that smelt absolutely horrible, but it’s been used and gone from my cupboard so I’m counting it as an empty. I used it up as a body wash as there was no way I was using that in my hair.

Geneva Guild Body Wash

I’m not sure whether this came from a beauty box or a hotel, normally stolen hotel freebies go straight to my bathroom which makes me think this was in a beauty box as I found it in my storage cupboard upstairs. Again didn’t love the smell of this – smelled of bleach!

biggest-empties-ever-body-care-3

Tea Tree & Peppermint Foot Pack (no brand!?)

I found this in Poundland and decided to give it a try, they’re like a sheet mask sock – they smelt good (I love a tea tree scent!) but they didn’t do anything else! Disappointing my feet are always dry.

Medihoney Derma Cream

I got this I think in a Birchbox last year – this was horrible, very greasy feeling didn’t like how it sat on my skin at all. The scent was unpleasant too, very… natural?!

The Body Shop Soft Hands Kind Heart Hand Cream

I still have another one of these, I picked them up a body shop sale for a silly low price. They aren’t bad but I do prefer the normal Body Shop hand creams, this didn’t really have a scent so immediately others are more attractive, and I prefer the thinner formula that the others do.

We’re half way through the empties now – woop, Face & Body Care is still go, they’re both whopping categories. Thanks for sticking with me, if you’ve missed any of this massive 7 month empties so far you can click the links below

I seem to go through shower gels like they’re going out of fashion! At least one full size a month I would say! I think it’s because the body shop ones double up as really nice bubble baths and you can get a bit squeeze happy when popping some in the bath lol! I LOVED the body shop virgin mojito range and I’m so sad they didn’t bring it back this year! I also loved the glazed apple from last christmas but they’ve kind of made it even more festive this year with spiced apple and that is divine! Got to say I hate that grounded scrub though! What.A.Faff! Can’t wait for the final two instalments! xxx

I do have one of the glazed apple scrubs still left – I prefer that over this years version, but I am glad they basically brought it back. The Pina Colada range this year didn’t quite do it for me, wasn’t as good as the mojito!
I’m not sure if I’ll have time to get either of the empties edited for tomorrow, they’re both super long ones at 60 products each to talk about and I’ve not made a start on either!
      xxx

Ah see I really like both of the Apple fragrances which really surprises me as I don’t normally like spiced scented things! I smelt it and thought it was a bit meh so I didn’t pick one up whereas I raced in to get the mojito one! They should so make a permanent cocktail scented range! Oh god that sounds stressful! Good luck! xxx

Great post! Loved reading this. I’ve never really been one for shopping in Body Shop a log but after reading your post, I fancy giving some of their stuff a try. Thank you for this 🙂 x

Grounded Chocolate Orange Scrub sounds so good!!

Your post reminds me that I have another jar of the Steam Cream somewhere! Need to bust that open.
BBW scents are so hit and miss – I agree, the overly cinnamon-y / sweet scents are nauseating. But I’ve found some that aren’t bad. I hope BBW will see the opportunity in the UK market and open up shop! It took them years to cross the border from the US to Canada – I still remember going shopping across the border to New York to shop at BBW and Victoria’s Secret! That was when our dollar was at par… oh those were the days!
I hope TBS brings back the Virgin Mojito collection for you! I know how much you adore it. 🙂 I personally hate their sorbets but I’m interested in smelling this scent. 😛
Hrm I noticed the other day that the H&M is clearing all of their body care products for 50% off. They had a lemon scented shower gel that I was tempted by, but I’ve got so many items to use up in my stash.
Good job on finishing up all these! 😀

If the Body Shop Virgin Mojito makes a comeback I’m stocking up like crazy, I’d take everything and anything in that range!
Yep use that Steam Cream up, to be fair I had mine about 3 years, and didn’t start using this pot until this year and it never smelt funky!
Hmmm, i have noticed in a store I was in they were doing a sale on their body care products but it didn’t seem like it was clearance, just a high discount – would be a short lived collection if it’s already on it’s way out!
There’s such a demand for BBW here, it’s crazy – I’ll hold my breath for getting the news of them (and sephora) coming, I guess their heavy products which aren’t the easiest to freight over – saying that they do have stores in Dubai so it’s clearly doable!

    Really loving your empties posts!x

I have been loving products late from The Body Shop. ESPECIALLY their face masks. Really nice. I think I’ll put some body scrubs on my wish list this year. That Harvest Raspberry sounds really good!

    • November 25, 2016 / 7:44 am

Their blue corn face mask is my ultimate favourite! I want to try some from their new collections. It have vowed to have finished at least one full size one from my collection before I get another as the pile is a little out of control!

I love a good empties post! My problem has been that I have so many bits and I’m a bit of a shopaholic and a hoarder but I am using through my stuff now. I haven’t tried the shower jelly yet and I think that’s next on my list when I’m out of shower gel … Or if Santa brings some

    • November 26, 2016 / 1:06 pm

Me too, this year was my year to really cut out the half used products and be left with things that I love or new things to try rather than chopping and changing all the time. Once I got to the point where my giant cupboard was overflowing was when I had to admit it was time to use stuff up. 220 products down feels great! Xxx
