Biggest Empties Ever? 7 and a Bit Month Empties

My last empties was way back in April where I went over a relatively normal amount of empties. In April, I didn’t have that many at the end of the month, so I decided to hold on to them and roll them into May’s. May I had a lot of empties and couldn’t seem to find a time to do them, the pile got bigger and bigger the challenge of actually working out ‘what the hell am I going to do with all these’ question got larger and I finally forced myself to tackle it on Sunday Evening.

I did at one point debate doing a whole years worth of empties, but as each month has passed the location of my empties pile has had to keep moving – the little box I normally keep my stuff in was soon outgrown, it moved to a cupboard shelf in my wardrobe, which was outgrown. For a while they lived on my spare room floor until I got pissed off with tripping over them constantly – and for the past 2 months they’ve been living in my bath.

If it wasn’t Christmas upcoming and I was going to have family members coming into my house pointing at the pile of empty bottles before calling my great uncle up to have a look, before they make a group decision to have be sectioned – then I might have considered going for it. But I’m actually looking forward to having my bath to store a significant pile of ‘wedding shit’ which I don’t have a cupboard big enough for it to go in – wedding shit will be happily pointed at by my family as I’m the first person in my generation on both my mums and dad’s side to get married – so everyone is excited. You can tell I don’t use my bath often though right?! I seem to have come to a ‘natural point’ – I had a bag for likes, and a bag for dislikes and both were at breaking point so after 2 and a half hours of photographing, 2 numb legs and now one very heavy recycling bag – I’m ready to do the write ups!

The paat 7 and a bit months have been about as much decluttering and reorganising as I could do. I went around my house and found all my half started and half used products thanks to trying something new all the time because of blogging – and I gathered them  up and reorganised everything in sections in My Little Box Boxes – I’ve had one product of each on the go at a time – and where possible I’ve tried to use up something that’s been part started. So whilst I have a massive grand total of 220 finished productsYOU READ THAT RIGHT – a good chunk of these haven’t been used top-to-bottom since the start of April.

So for a good chunk of posts over the next week they’re going to be heavily empties focused. If you don’t like empties – this is not the week for you, sorry! Each post is going to be split up into individual sections, e.g Hair and Nails – and within that I’ve got them split into the likes and dislikes.

I was curious as to just how the piles broke down so I kept a running total as I went.

I wasn’t surprised to see that Hair was the biggest section, I plough through conditioners. And I had a load of half started products in that department and haircare has been one area I’ve been desperate to declutter across the board. I was surprised at just how many face products I’d used although a good chunk of those were foil packets which gave me just a single use – or a couple at most each – I still have a massive foil packet stash and I try to use at least one a weekthis-might-be-the-biggest-empties-ever-piechart-2

It’s pretty level on the likes vs dislikes front – I’m pretty easy to please as it swings more to likes rather than dislikes. But whilst I like things – that doesn’t necessarily mean I like things enough to re-buy them, and a like isn’t necessarily a I can’t be without it, so I will be marking any planned repurchases as usual in my likes section of each post.

So I hope you like empties, cause it’s all I’ll be working on for the next few days in an attempt to get them up and out the way in one chunk!

Very impressive! Love t he pie graph. I think mine would have more body stuff, but otherwise it’s probably similar. Who finishes up nail polish? Nobody! 😛

True, top coats and base coats get passes. And remover!

    YOU’RE ABSOLUTELY INSANE! 😆
I love the pie charts, as I’m sure you’d guessed! I think my highest categories are hair and skincare too. Body care lasts a long time for me. I’ve been diligently tracking mine in a spreadsheet all year long – my hope is that it won’t be as daunting, come end of the year summary time.
Looking forward to reading your week of empties – bring it on!

I know you love a good pie chart! I don’t think I’ll be bothering with an end of year recap this time – most of my yearly empties will already be wrapped up in this one!
Finishing up tomorrows post and need to get wednesday’s done as well as im on mum manicure duty tomorrow night. I started with the ‘small pile’ and even that’s taking ages

The pie chart is fab! So, over time you can trend your likes and dislikes and see if your selection capability improves. HAHA! I love data!

Yes last year I did a tot up like this at the end of the year, will see how it compared to last years. When you like trying new stuff all the time there’s always a risk that you end up with stuff you may not like!

      • November 22, 2016 / 12:55 am

Every time I do a haul, I’m back and forth 2 or 3 times exchanging stuff that I found I didn’t like!
