My Little Goodnight Box – November 2016 My Little Box Review

Just as I’m prepared to call it quits with My Little Box, they pull it out the bag again (I wonder how many times this cycle is going to go round!). I’d decided after last months drama with it that December’s would be the last month I would be subscribed (because I may as well see it to the end of the year right?!). But this month’s has me reconsidering all over again.

The box this month is really pretty, with a painted galaxy sky adorning the front cover, unlike last months this actually feels like the Goodnight theme has been tied the whole way through. The lifestyle items match up as do the beauty ones. High Five My Little Box, that’s not happened in a while.

This month’s box comes with the print with a cute little french slogan (kindly translated at the bottom to ) with the magazine – the magazine is starting to feel more editorial, I feel like there’s less and less content which feels readable each month such as step by step nail arts.

The first product I was happily pulling out was a moon shaped jewellery dish which is perfect for keeping on the bedside. I’ve actually been thinking about getting a second one of these to keep by my bedside as I often get to bed to realise I’ve forgetten to take my earrings out, I keep all my clothes/jewellery and beauty stuff in the spare room. This also came really nicely packaged – if you didn’t want to keep this on to a friend – this would make a really nice gift. I kinda like that it’s wobbly round the edges and looks as if it’s been hand painted, it looks more unique!

The next lifestyle item was a lovely sleeping mask, I’ve had these before in the likes of Glossybox and other boxes – but none have been as nice quality as this. It’s actually reversible featuring this quote on one side, and the starry pattern on the other.

Onto the beauty products. Firsts out of the canvas bag of dreams this week was the My Little Beauty item which comes in every box. This time it’s a ‘Moonrise’ makeup removing jelly. 99.5% natural, vegan and suitable for every skintype. Reading the back this sounds more like a cleansing balm then a jelly as it ‘turns milky’ when coming into contact with water. With camelia oil and scented with green tea this sounds like a calming pre-bedtime cleanse. This is the first My Little Beauty cleanser, and I’m excited about it!

Next up another tube I’m happy to see, I’ve heard this positively reviewed but I don’t often peruse the skincare aisle, so I’ve not noticed it in store yet. This is the Garnier Skinactive Pureactive (mouthful) 3 in 1 – which is a cleanser, scrub and mask in 1. This isn’t a full size, but it’s definitely big enough to give it a good try, I’m intrigued to see how it performs as one. One critism so far is that there’s a facewash, and a multitasking face wash in the same box.

Lastly nested in the bottom  was a perfume sample from Yves Rocher, this is their Secret Essences Accord Chic. The card says this is Iris scented, but both me and Ben agree it’s not particularly floral – it’s definitely more of an evening scent. It’s not the kind of fragrance I’d buy – but I do like it adding this to my handbag for on the go.my-little-goodnight-box-yves-rocher-perfume-accord-chic my-little-goodnight-box-contents

I’m excited to see whether next months can convince me that I should be staying subscribed. Whilst I’ve liked this months box – especially the lifestyle items – I know it’s one box in the past 3 or 4 months that I’ve liked. One thing I’ve also noticed about My Little Box is that the value of the boxes goes up and down each month, this month we’ve got a sample sized drugstore skincare item and a perfume sample – the my little beauty items are roughly around the £10 mark each month – last months there was a high end liner worth £24. It’s worth a note though if you’re thinking of subbing. If you want to see my thoughts on All other past UK Boxes, I’ve unboxed every one of from the start by clicking here!

What do you think of this months box?

I have this issue with Birchbox. I decide I’m going to call it quits then they pull a brilliant edition out of the bag!

It’s so annoying, I don’t wanna have serious fomo with the box and I’ve been subbed since the start for over 2 years
So feel some kind of loyalty!

I cancelled my subscription to this a few months ago as I was getting bored of silly trinkets and not-so-great make up samples, but this looks amazing. I will check out some of their other recent boxes and might re-sub. Thanks! xoxox

I will say this is the first in a good few months, just as I’m at the end of my tether with it they have one good box and then 4 bad ones again! Xx
