Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm Review

Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm review

I’ve been dying to try the Merumaya Melting Cleansing Balm out since receiving it in a goodie bag back in July/August at the East Midlands Meet Up! I’ve been really good recently at trying to clear out clutter, samples, part used products have all been ploughed through over the past few months in at attempt to keep a smaller amount of products around. I’ve definitely not finished everything that’s part used, but given I’ve done really well I decided to treat myself and crack out a product I’ve been eagerly waiting to try – the MeruMaya Melting Cleansing Balm.

This cleanser is a 100ml tube and is priced at £16.50 – which I think is a pretty reasonable price for a cleansing balm. The outer box of this looks really quite chic, with pretty embossed silver lettering at the top, I’m a little disappointed with the product itself – considering this has now sat in a dry place and been used for only 2-3 weeks so far the sticker on the tube is already beginning to peel down the edge.

I really like that this cleansing balm comes in the form of a tube rather than a pot that you need to scoop product out of, it’s far less messy and much easier to control the amount of product you get out. And because this has to squeeze out, the texture is nice and soft, I don’t enjoy it when balms are too solid and require heat to get them to melt down – especially at this time of year when they become rock hard in my chilly bathroom!

The formula of this is almost like a gel but slightly thicker, it’s really easy to massage all over the face before adding to water to get it to emulsify. I’m happy to report that this didn’t make my eyes sting and does a fabulous job of breaking down every last drop of eye makeup.

In terms of it’s ingredients it contains an Almond Oil which acts as a “wash on” moisturiser, and leaves the skin feeling soft and norished after use. Echium oil provides Omegas 3, 6 & 9 which aid in reducing finer lines, improve skin’s elasticity as well as being an anti-irritant. Also Mangosteen fruit extract which is an anti-oxidant rich in vitamins.

You don’t need too much of this product at all, I tend to put a little bit more than whats on my finger above and dab it all over my face before going with my fingers and massaging it in, I think this tube will last a long time – I’ve been using it for 3 weeks and can’t really see a dent in it so far.

If you’re in the market for a new cleansing balm or want to try one, I thoroughly recommend this. MeruMaya is also noted as being vegan friendly, cruelty free and free of parabens. They’re stocked on a few different places online as well as shipping globally from their website, this is available to purchase here.

Oh I’m super intrigued by this! I love the idea of this being like a gel – like you said, not having to scoop it out of a jar. And it emulsifies! I need to find a place that sells this! So reasonably priced too. I just looked this up and it appears to be just a UK brand.

Yes I think it’s just a family business! It’s a great product I think you’d like it – international shipping on their site, cough cough.
