The Body Shop Spa Fit Body Scrub Review

The Body Shop Spa Fit Body Scrub

I’d never heard of the Spa Fit range from the Body Shop, until I placed a big online order from them back in the Summer. I went on a big old scrub haul as I’d totally depleted my collection, all three of the scrubs I picked were totally different in texture. I’ve already reviewed and finished up the Early Harvest Raspberry Scrub, and next on my list to try was the The Body Shop Spa Fit Body Scrub.

The Spa Fit Range is a  small collection of products that make up the Spa Fit range, which features a massage oil, body massage tool, firming and toning gel moisturiser and of course this scrub. I’m not sure behind the idea of the range as I can’t seem to find any marketing spiel on their website on this particular range – but given the products, they’re clearly inspired in creating an at home spa atmosphere with all of the products seemingly targetted at a more treatment style version of body care.

The packaging of this scrub is nice, and would make a really nice decorative side of the bath scrub, featuring a clip style mason jar, but it’s also a heavy plastic rather than a glass, so if like me you drop stuff in the shower all the time, you don’t have to worry about it shattering everywhere! I will say it’s not the most practical scrub to try and fight with in the shower I will say, it looks nice but the opening is very stiff, and once it’s been loosened it’s like a loose cannon and pings open.

If you’re looking to try this scrub out I’d recommend waiting for the sale, whilst I believe this is a permanent line to The Body Shop, it was in the sale back in July – and I also noticed that it was in the sale that has just passed. It normally retails for £14, but when I picked it up in July it was £7, and with a discount code it was just £4.20.

The texture of this is unusual and I’m struggling to think of another scrub that I’ve tried that has a similar texture. The base of it I can only describe as a thin goo, peppered with soft pulpy lumps and a caffeine granule which resembles a microbead type texture. The scrub is filled with essential oils from lemons and grapefruits, if you’re like me and would be expecting a real hit in the face with a lemon type scent you might be disappointed – whilst it does smell citrusy, it’s not as intense as I’d expected.

The scrub is described as being smoothing and refining. The Caffeine granules will help tighten and brighten the skin, whilst the citrus essential oils will aid in brightening with their high vitamin C content. When massaging into the skin the texture emulsifies and becomes a little creamier, but because of that reason it means you can’t really get away with a small handful that you can use all over by moving it around your body.

I like The Body Shop Spa Fit Body Scrub, it does the job – but I don’t love it especially when it comes to the price. If you’re skin is very sensitive and you find a lot of scrubs too harsh then this might be a good option. For me you need a lot of product, and it’s kinda expensive for a Body Shop Scrub IMO, the pot is smaller than what you’d get with most other TBS scrubs. The Body Shop recommend using this 2 – 3 times a week, if that was the case you’d be through the whole pot after three weeks.

Something about the appearance of this just appeals to me on so many levels although it does remind me of some kind of mango chutney lol! I have so many scrubs but always forget to use them? Have you tried either the Laura mercier or the grounded scrubs? I love the Laura mercier one; it’s divine to use but I HATE the grounded one with a passion! It’s so so messy! Xxx

I’ve wanted a Laura mercier one but can’t bring myself to splash the cash on it! My skin doesn’t really get that dry that I always pick cheap options when it comes to body care, especially with scrubs as I seem to go through them so quickly! I would definitely forget to use them if I didn’t keep them in the shower! I love the grounded one I had a sample of it over the summer, love how it works, hate the mess! Xxx

Oh they are so good, I got one for a birthday present a few years ago in the creme de pistache scent (before they discontinued it!!) and it’s beautiful! I use it so sparingly! I just couldn’t get on board with the grounded one! I wanted to love it but the mess, faff and just general lack of practicality made me hate it! I’ve still got some left that I’m determined to use up but not good! I had an amazing one from a brand called Koya that smelt incredible! Also nice and ‘scrubby’ too! xxx

I also did hate the packaging of the Grounded one, why did they make something papery textured for keeping in the shower?!
I did not know they had discontinued that scent, I’d had a little sample of that body cream and was going to treat myself to it “one day”, god damn it!
Ooh not heard of Koya, shall look it up xxx

This honestly looks like a jar of marmalade!!! I just love how the flip jar looks. Interesting this has caffeine… might have to try it as I’m not keen on actually using coffee ground as a scrub, but this, I might be able to tolerate.
I’d no one should ever pay full price at The Body Shop… that place is constantly having promotions!

Yes might be worth a look! It is a nice looking product but seems to come at a premium compared to other tbs products! No to full prices, especially as I live near an outlet that’s heavily discounted,
Buy 4 products and everything becomes half price pretty much, and sales and discounts every 3 months!

I seem to get through TBS scrubs super quick too. Thought it was just me haha. This is definitely the nicest looking scrub I’ve seen. It looks so warm and summery x

This legitimately looks like jam in the packaging! It does look like it would be very citrusy, so it’s too bad it isn’t. Do you prefer the normal body scrubs over this one?

Definitely prefer the seediness and scent of the raspberry one, this is nice but I think it’s kinda pricey at full price. Would consider repurchasing but only if I got it at a really good price like last time.
