Collective Autumn Fashion and Accessories Haul – Keeps & Returns

Collective Autumn Fashion and Accessories Haul – Keeps & Returns

Losing weight has meant that I’ve had to really rummage through my wardrobe for items that are still wearable now that Autumn winter has definitely arrived. On one hand yay, I’ve got to do a lot of shopping – and it’s warranted, but on the other hand my wallet has really not enjoyed shopping – especially when I’ve had a couple of big wedding deposits to pay this month! I’ll jump right in as there’s quite a lot!

Sidenote, I had total camera trouble the day I was taking them, remote control wifi function wasn’t playing ball and then it died. The sun was setting so I had to roll with phone selfies there after,

ASOS

ASOS Forever Long Sleeved TShirt (Keep/Return)

I’ve been on the look out for some new classic long sleeved tops and liked the look of this, with slashed hems. I picked up the white t-shirt version of this in the summer and it’s so soft although it seems to have gone a little bobbly, I’m going to see how this washes and pick up the black and white versions in the long sleeves. It’s also slightly longer at the back which is a plus for me!

ASOS Rivington High Waisted Ripped Jeans (Keep/Return)

asos-rivington-ripped-jeans

I forgot to include a picture of these, and now they’re in the wash! I’ve now found somewhere other than Dorothy Perkins that makes jeans that fit me, and I’ve been looking for some ripped jeans for years, but I could never find any when I was bigger, and now I’ve lost weight I couldn’t find any that had rips where they were meant to be because I’m so tall, ripped knees would be half way up my shins! I like these because they’re elasticated and feel like they hold everything in like a jegging – but they’re properly buttoned. I can see me getting lots more of these as they come in lots of different washes and colours – with and without rips too!

ASOS Varsity Style Cardigan (Keep/Return)

asos-cardigan-2

I don’t recall this looking as High School Musicalesque on the website as it does in person. It was a sale find and I did debate keeping it as a cosy cardy to keep at work (as our office is like a fridge), but cream isn’t the most practical colour for a long term office companion and I don’t love the style. Plus it’s very, very big and I think this was ordered in a Medium!

ASOS White Crochet Detailed Shirt (Keep/Return)

white-shirt-asos

I’ve been looking for a white shirt forever, and I’ve found one that fits, FINALLY. This has some pretty panels of crochet detailing. It’s a nice thin cotton so means I can layer it under jumpers and it won’t make me too hot either.

ASOS Denim Boyfriend Shirt with Western Style Embroidery (Keep/Return)

autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark12 autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark11 autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark13

I found this in the sale and it’s going back. I like the idea of this, but it’s so, so big for me. It looks like a tent, it was the last size available when I placed the order

Johnny Loves Rosie Double Layered Choker (Keep/Return)

johnny-loves-rosie-choker

I’ve been admiring the choker trend and didn’t feel like I’d be cool enough to pull it off but decided to go for it. I really like this double layered velvet choker, and it was affordable too at £12. I like the stud detail with the slightly looser fitting plain band with a hanging peachy crystal.

River Island Choker (Keep/Return)

river-island-choker

I liked this dressier choker option as well with a pewter metal and crystal details, It’s not as comfortable to wear as the velvet strapped one so is more of a night out piece than a wear all day for work one, but I like it. I think this was about £12.

Zara

Floral Embroidered Shirt (Keep/Return)

autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark4 autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark3

I saw someone wearing this in a youtube video and my eyes lit up! I searched it out as it wasn’t listed in the description and found it in Zara. I had low hopes of it actually fitting (I find zara really small) but the oversized fit meant the size I ordered was actually way to big, and I re-ordered a size down, and could probably still stand to lose a little bit more fabric. I’m planning to wear this tucked in so it’s not a big issue – but I loved the detail on this so much I couldn’t resist! I wasn’t sure how I was going to style it, but I loved it so much I had to keep hold of it, I wore it tucked into the front on Saturday with black jeans and a leather  and suede waterfall jacket I bought last year, I liked it.

Blue Suede Crossover Bag (Keep/Return)

autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark14 autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark16 autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark15

I posted pics on this all over instagram and twitter when I saw it, I wanted a more wintery coloured crossover bag and fell in love with this teal blue one with pretty chain details, it looked a lot more expensive than what it was. When it arrived it wasn’t the same colour and was more blue than pictured, wasn’t as good quality as I’d hoped (I asked Ben how much he thought the bag was due to it’s quality and he said way lower than what it actually was), and the bag part of the bag was a slightly different colour to the front. Clearly going back, but annoyingly it looks better in the photos then it does in person!

Primark

I saw loads of gorgeous items in other people’s Primark hauls so I nipped in very quickly one night after work to see what I could find – sadly I could barely find a thing that I’d admired online – and as usual could find barely anything in my local Peterborough store – despite that it’s massive!

Olive Jumper – £6 (Keep/Return)

 autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark2

autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark1

The one thing I had seen on multiple people’s autumn primark hauls was this jumper, there was about 12 different colours of it and I already want to go back and see if I can get a couple more in other shades. I picked up this deep yellowy olive shade which I love (and I blend in nicely with my bedroom wall), but I’d love to get this in a grey, burgundy and any pretty berry shades if they had them too! I really like that it’s got a subtle rib stripe detail without being too bulky or chunky, it’s very comfortable to wear.

Update: I’ve just been in my lunch break to Primark to try and get more of this jumper as I’m wearing it today and I adore it! They only had 1 black one left, which happened to be in my size, and a few of this olive colour left – which I might have picked up another one if they’d had them left in my size. I picked up a very similar light grey one but it has more of a roll neck than this – but is still a thin knit jumper.

Monsters Inc PJs  – £6 (Keep/Return)

monsters-inc-pyjamas

I wouldn’t normally bother including these but they got a lot of love on Instagram and Twitter when I posted a picture of me wearing them. Primark is the king of Pjyamas, I rarely buy them anywhere else!

Rose Embroidered Tee – £6 (Keep/Return)

autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark5 autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark6

I’d seen loads of embroidered t-shirts online and my store had barely any, this was the only one I could see and was also the last size left, it’s a bit baggy and big, but I’ve bought it with the plan of tucking it into a denim skirt or jeans anyway as it’s cropped.

Moroccan Monochrome Trousers – £10 (Keep/Return)

I’ve been looking for a pair of patterned trousers for ages and saw these and liked the look of these as they’ll go with most plain tops! I didn’t try these on as I was in a rush but they’re a little bit too big around the waist band and because they’re slightly stretchy through the day they get a little bit bigger too. I might see if I can take these in a little otherwise they’ll be something I can only wear for a short space of time with a long jumper that will cover any waistbands.

Dorothy Perkins

Red Skater Dress (Keep/Return)

red-dress-dorothy-perkins maroon-dress-dorothy-perkins

I picked this up just before we went to Milan as I realised I didn’t have any dresses that would be not too summery as it wouldn’t be that hot for wearing in the day time. I also didn’t want something too summery that would mean I wouldn’t get wear from it in the winter. I thought this was the perfect option as it can easily be paired with some black tights. The crochet detail on the arms and skirt also makes it non boring.

Grey and Pink Striped T-Shirt (Keep/Return)

autumn-fashion-haul-asos-zara-dorothy-perkins-primark9

Just a nice casual tshirt that goes with everything, it’s a good one for work for me or one for the weekends where i want to be comfy but not too casual.

Striped Off The Shoulder Top (Keep/Return)

striped-top-dorothy-perkins

I spotted this in the sale and I really liked it, the off the shoulder style was a little summery, but i imagined over black jeans in the right situation it would be passable. I’ve had this since early September and haven’t worn it yet, it’s annoying the elastic that holds it in place at the top rolls all the time once you’ve had it on for a bit.

So there we go, I hope you liked seeing what I picked up and what I decided not to keep as well. Have you picked anything up recently?

Some lovely things ! Really love that Zara shirt ❤️

Looks like you had a lot of fun shopping! 😀 I am also in the process of losing weight – I can’t wait for the eventual clothing haul I’m gonna have! Ha!
Love chokers, always have. So glad they’re coming back into fashion.
I am so sorry that the Zara bag turned out to be nothing like the online photo! Horrible of them. Definite return.
I think the maroon dress is my fave! Lots of pretties, though.

It’s a fun to actually have to go out and need to refresh your wardrobe entirely!
I was so annoyed that it even looks nice in the photos as it doesn’t in real life. The suede has this milliners to it as it moves and the strap is kinda rough around the edges so it’s not comfortable to hold either!
I love that dress too think it’s going to look really nice with tights and knee high boots!

Tights + tall boots: best thing about cold weather! I think I wear dresses more in cold weather than in warm…

        • October 27, 2016 / 2:14 pm

I used to wear way more skirts and dresses last year, but my new office is much more casual (by being the only female here I managed to somehow turn the whole office to being able to wear jeans, because my boss didn’t know what to tell me what my dress code was, and slowly everyone else has got away with it! But when I got here they were smart trousers and shirts – now I’m looking round and everyone’s wearing hoodies and jeans!)

          • October 27, 2016 / 3:21 pm

The guys must love you! Hahahaha! I used to work in a very casual office, though with a very balanced M/F ratio, and would end up being “dressier” than others whenever I wore dresses. I mean, there were people in flip-flops and shorts. 😀 Casual dress is best!!

I adore the double choker and the embroidered Zara shirt!!
A new Primark recently opened about 5 minutes from my house so I’ve found myself casually popping in after work about once a week : / My bank balance is not happy either!!

Looks like you got a lot of great pieces!! I absolutely love the ASOS white crochet detailed shirt!!!

  6. October 27, 2016 / 4:45 pm

Oh man, that Varsity Style Cardigan is waaaay too baggy. I understand it’s a “look” but it’s not flattering.
I really like the White Crochet Detailed Shirt – I could see myself wearing that too.
But my FAVOURITE is that Zara Floral Embroidered Shirt! Love it!
How often do you return clothes? I rarely do… also it could be that I typically try the items before I purchase. I don’t buy too much clothing online. The last clothing item I bought was from Uniqlo, this shirt, in navy:
    https://www.uniqlo.com/us/en/women-idlf-pleated-long-sleeve-shirt-180180.html
I don’t know why, but I’ve been really into button down shirts lately.

    • October 27, 2016 / 4:55 pm

Actually I don’t return stuff that often, I meant to but totally forgot to include a skirt I bought that didn’t even fit but lost the packaging for it so didn’t return it. So now have a skirt I can’t even wear sat in my wardrobe!
ASOS you’re forced to buy online so there’s no trying before buying, and it’s one of the few places that has a big selection of tall clothes so I shop there a lot – I subscribe to their Premier Service, £9.99 for the year unlimited next day service and free returns, so I buy multiple sizes/buy several choices of dresses for an event/try things I like but don’t think will suit me without feeling put off by the postage costs! I love that Uniqlo shirt, I find that shape just doesn’t suit me – sans collar just looks like a boxy shape on me, but I know how it would sit on you and imagine it would like nice and drapey!
The one thing I wish that white shirt had was a bit of Crochet detail on the collar, that would have finished it off nicely for me, but at least I now have a white shirt that fits, the 2 year hunt is over!
The Zara shirt is gorgeous, I’m going to a big blog event tomorrow in London and it’s what I’m gonna be wearing! Do you have Zara over your side or is it just a European thing? Zara is the one store we don’t have in our city so had to order online, and I rarely shop there so don’t really know the sizing, plus it was oversized on the model online that I had no idea what size to order – stuff that’s too oversized just makes me look bigger than I am, style only works if you’re thinner:

      • October 27, 2016 / 5:56 pm

I’ve never ordered from ASOS because I’m worried about sizing. I’ve known loads of people who’ve ordered and had no issues but I’m still not convinced. That premier service sounds like it’s worth it! I don’t think that’s available for us here in North America.
We do have Zara here – I have a few bits from there but often, it’s so picked over, I can never find my size! One thing I do have a bunch of, from Zara, are their basic camisoles. They’re amazing! Great choice to wear that shirt for the blogger event – I bet it will be a sea of head to toe black entire! 😉

I love everything in this haul 😍

  8. October 27, 2016 / 6:33 pm

That is one big clothes haul! You’ve inspired me to get new bits. I have loads of new makeup and hardly any clothes. Loved your choices, especially the white crochet top. It’s stunning x

      • October 27, 2016 / 8:54 pm

You’ve just reminded me about the jacket! I’ll defo go back and try it again. I did love it. Oh yeah definitely. Makeup feels easier than trying on clothes x

That johnny loves Rosie choker is to die for!!!!!

  10. October 27, 2016 / 8:22 pm

That ASOS T-shirt is pretty sexy! I think I’m going to get one of those! I love the jammies too! I’m a big jammie person. If I am at home, I’m in them within 2 minutes of coming through the door. It’s a running joke in my house. Super cute chokers! Awesome stuff! You look so adorable!

I love the Zara floral embroidered shirt!! Looks beautiful on you

  12. October 28, 2016 / 10:01 am

Overall, a pretty successful haul then?! You look incredible after your weight loss (not that you didn’t before). I love the crochet top and double layer choker from ASOS in particular 🙂
