The Hero Project : Hyasoft & Glow Drops First Impressions

I was sent this skincare a really long time ago – like the end of spring long time ago. Because I’ve been on such a part-used product finish up and clean out (urgh the six months of empties pile is literally haunting me), I’d made a promise on not starting on anything new until I’d finished up my moisturisers that had been started, and it wasn’t until the past few weeks that that I could finally raid my stash for something new. Tis was the first thing I pulled out as I’ve been itching to try it.

The change in season has seen a massive change in my skin, so it was also the perfect time to try out something new. I’ve basically skipped wearing foundation Monday-Friday for the past month or so, and my skin has never looked better. How it’s started to feel in the past few weeks since our cold spell has came in has been totally different, it’s felt dry and not not smooth to the touch.

I received 2 different products from the brand Hyasoft – a moisturiser, and Glow Drops, a dry touch facial oil, something I’m still definitely new to. The outer packaging of both and the branding as a whole is gorgeous, it feels modern and clean – whilst still being colourful and not boring. I really enjoy looking at the packaging of these (graphic designer geek in me), and the glow drops in particular are beautiful. In additionally the brand is both vegan friendly and cruelty free.

So let’s start with the Glow Drops, facial oils are still a new arena for me, It’s only been this year that I’ve really started using some sleeping oils, but over the past few months they’ve fell out of my routine. I’ve been using these both day and night and have really enjoyed using it. This is priced at £24 for 30ml which I think is really well priced for a a facial oil, and the packaging looks and feels premium too. Out of all the facial oils I have I like the applicator on this the most, the sleek metal lid is adorned with a yellow button which allows you to dispense just how much product you want much easier than a squeezy dropper.

The product has 10 Essential oils including Cedarwood Oil, Rose Otto Oil and Inca Oil – with added vitamin C which aids in brightening the skin, the brand themselves describe this as having an addictive fragrance and I would agree, it smells beautiful – it’s not so strong you wouldn’t want to put it on your face. Whilst it’s described as dry touch I find that it takes 10 minutes for the product to properly sink in until the skin looks and feels dry.

I could be here for hours listing the benefits of each ingredient so I’ll name just a few – Vetiver Oil is an anti-inflammatory, anti-sceptic and apparently an aphrodisiac! Hemp Seed Oil helps protect and energise the skin’s natural barrier.  Whilst Geranium Oil helps reduce wrinkles, improves circulation and helps tighten muscles.

My skin feels and looks much brighter since I introduced this into my routine which I credit to the added Vitamin C. This is probably the first time I’ve found an oil which I want to keep using for the day, I’ve tried and tested some in the past and could never loved them enough to make them apart of my routine. It’s been two weeks with this in my routine and I can’t wait to see what long term benefits happen thanks to all of the essential oils.

Hyasoft I started using a week before I introduced the Glow Drops into my routine. I pulled this out when my skin had turned to it’s worst and wow, what instant results I noticed. I’ve just been using this in the evenings so far, it’s a gel like formula which has a slight sticky feeling feeling (which could probably be masked with makeup, but due to not wearing it that much I haven’t actually tried). This is priced at £19 for a 30ml tube, whilst the packaging looks nice, it doesn’t quite feel as luxe as the beautiful glass bottle the oil comes in.

This mosituriser is oil-free, with vitamin B5 (improves elasticity) and hyaluronic acid (smooths texture), I slapped a layer of this on one night and the next morning my parched, dehydrated skin felt smoother and plumped. I felt resurfaced literally overnight thanks to this little gem. My one comment would be that I’m using this once a day and I feel like I’m whizzing through this product quite quickly as the gel doesn’t seem to spread very far, £19 for 30ml is more than what I’d normally consider spending on moisturisers, but there’s something about this I think is absolutely worth it.

2 Weeks into using these together I’m so impressed with the results I’ve seen, The Hyasoft has instantly made my skin softer and smoother to the touch, and the oil seems to me evening out my complexion and helping it keep bright and glowing through the dull winter months. Both are going to stay in my routine for the forseeable, I’ll report back in future posts as I’m planning on doing a skincare routine – I seem to have actually found one at the moment!

The Hero Project currently has just 4 products in it’s line up, and I’m excited to see what more is to come from the brand, I’m eyeing up one of their other products called Double Blur which is a wrinkle & pore reducing primer, promising HD ready skin.

SIX months of empties! You are INSANE, girl. 😮 At what point do you just say, “forget it, this isn’t worth it? I’ve got a life to live?”
The Glow Drops sounds great! I really like the packaging too – the bottle would look so nice on a vanity.
Hero Project also sounds like a neat name for a skincare company – you can do so much with that!

Well at the point where I probably actually stop putting it off and actually decide to tackle them, we’re even close to seven now. I was gonna film a 6 months of empties loves and hates in two separate ones but I think they’d even be too long in themselves. Now thinking of just photographing all the things I liked and listing them all, and then pick out the top ten highlights to talk about in depth and then do the same for the dislikes!
Yes this sits next to my bedside table and it looks so pretty, I think I’m actually inclined to use this oil because it looks so nice!
Yes the name definitely leaves a lot of room for expansion!
