Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream in Precious

Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream in Precious

It’s very rare that I discover a new product and straight away I want to shout it from the rooftops how much I love it – but that’s certainly the case with the Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream in Precious. I already want to add every other shade available to my collection, that’s how good they are.

Milani is a difficult brand to get a hold of here, I’ve never seen it in a store until July when I stumbled across it at Beauty Base in Westfield. I’d heard these were amazing via Glam Life Guru and resisted only picking up one. I said in my Change post that I have a mountain of lip products I can’t seem to get reviewed or tried, but this one went on the lips straight away and I’m already regretting not buying more. This cost £7.99 and whilst not the cheapest on the market, they’re not a product that’ll break the bank either and rival some of my more expensive options.

The colour Precious is a perfect dusky rose shade which is my lip colour of choice more often than not recently and reminds me of a half way point between my two favourites – Milani Plumrose and NYX Tea Rose – both of which I’ve been meaning to take pictures of to review. This week those have been all but forgotten and I’ve reached for this every single day. Liquid lipsticks are generally my product of choice now-a-days and I finally have found the perfect shade in this family.

The formula of these are really opaque and swipe on with so much ease, it doesn’t dry to being matte as quick as some others I’ve tried and I’ve found the thinner the coat you apply, the faster it dries to being matte. It doesn’t seem to matter how thin you try to apply the coats on this – it’s opaque no matter what, I’ve found that if you try to layer it, it starts balling up and clinging to any drier patches on the lips.

The wear time isn’t the best I’ve tried – but it’s not far off either, I’ve found this about 7 hours without touching up with eating and lots of drinking in between. It rivals the likes of the OFRA ones I’m such a fan of and the packaging is better so far too. I found OFRA’s new packaging had it’s shiny new letters rubbing off in my velvet lined clutch bag within hours of being in there, this has been rolling around in my overstuffed handbag for the best part of a two months and all the letters are still intact for now!

The wand on this is slightly different to other’s that I’ve tried it has a curved end, but both sides of the wand are totally flat. I’m not 100% sold on this as it has seemed to be a bit more difficult with this applicator to get right into the inner corners of the lip, but if it was slightly more pointed it wouldn’t be a problem.

Overall – big fan of the Milani Amore Matte Lip Cream in Precious, like I already said I’m looking at getting a good few more of the shades – if you’ve tried any from the Amore Matte range please leave any recommendations (or ones to avoid!) below. I’m eyeing some of the gorgeous brighter raspberry pinks and the reds! Beauty Bay now stock a few Milani items, you can see the other shades & purchase this one here.

I’m going to get myself some goodies next month I think, I’ve got a list as long as my arm and I need to narrow it down… at least a little! x

This shade looks so pretty on you, I see why you’re loving it! I hate when letters and names of products rub off packaging, especially if you forget the shade name and go to find a replacement. These sound like they are well worth their price point too!

Milani is just starting to have a presence here – I used to only be able to buy it online. I’ll have to check this out. I prefer non-matte mattes. 😉 Seems like it could rival that of NYX lip creams? I would prefer Milani because it’s made in the US rather than China like NYX is.

The formula is a bit less moussey than SMLC, so depends what you prefer these feel more matte to me without being drying. There’s only about 12 shades currently and it’s definitely more ‘standard shades’, so it doesn’t rival the range from NYX, but I think the formula (and packaging) has an edge over it!

£7.99! Eek! It does look stunning on you, though! I wish I liked Milani’s regular lipsticks better; maybe I should try these! I remember loving their single eyeshadows back in the day, but they discontinued them.

The only other one I’ve tried is plumrose which I love! I definitely want to try some of their baked and rose blushes, I think other than that the only things we can really get here at the moment are lip products!

Love the shade. Milani for me can be a bit hit a miss with some products, I’ll definitely head to the drugstore and pick up a few to try. By the way you have such nice lips! (Not to be creepy or anything )

Haha, don’t worry I’ve heard it before! I’ve not tried much from Milani due to it’s unavailbilty here, but I love their lip products so far!
