The Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub

The Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub

If you saw my favourites on Saturday, you’ll already know that I talked quickly about how much I love the first scrub (The Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub) that I tried out of the three I recently picked up in the Sale. I’m a big fan of Raspberry all round, raspberry scented or flavoured it’s definitely one of my go-to’s so whenever there’s an option it becomes one of my natural choices, so it was unsurprising that it became the first to join the line up in my shower. The full name of this is the Early Harvest Raspberry Scrub and it smells so divine I just want to eat it.

You can see from the picture above that I’m already making significant progress down this pot. I’m probably down to my last quarter and if it wasn’t for the fact I had two others from The Body Shop lined up and ready, I would have already stocked up on a spare to carry me over.

The texture of this feels just as it looks, it’s it’s like a jam (or jelly if you are across the pond). In the hand it looks and feels just like I could spread it all over my toast, and it does tempt me more than other product that I’ve owned to try and eat it… but the packaging does warn it’s not edible so I’ve resisted.

The texture of this is a real mix, it’s a gel type base with large raspberry seed particles spread quite thinly throughout when rubbed over the skin. The main bulk of the particles are made up with a sugar scrub typ consistency which if you look closely at the picture above, you might just be able to make out the smaller particles. The gel base in this keeps the exfoliator from feeling too harsh for sensitive skins, or for using too regularly.

I use The Body Shop Raspberry Body Scrub once to twice a week and have been doing for almost two months now and a little of this product goes a long way, the main areas I exfoliate are always my arms, as if anywhere that’s where I tend to get drier areas. Occasionally I’ll use it over my whole body and legs – maybe once a fortnight but regardless a small handful of this product is enough to do both arms, so this pot is lasting a lot longer than expected.

The raspberry and gingerbread scents were definitely my favourite from The Body Shop! I haven’t had one of the scrubs in ages though, I really need to pop in and get one! x

Ohh I forgot about glazed apple! The moisturiser was incredible!
I don’t think I have smelt the spa fit one but it sounds wonderful!

Ohh that sounds odd! I definitely need to have a look at that!

I love the look of this, especially as you said it’s gentle. Scrubs can irritate my skin. X

The gel base really helps keep it light and the surf particles are quite rounder so it almost has a soft scrub feeling! I don’t have really dry skin and find some scrubs way too much and this one is just the right level!

I don’t have very dry skin either, so something lighter and more gentler like this sounds good x

I have seen this product in stores, but have always held off on buying it. It looks (and probably smells) so much like jam, I feel like I would try to lick it just once, LOL! Definitely need to put this on my shopping list next time I’m there!

Americans say jelly as oppose to jam? We use both, I thought there was a distinction between the two? Jelly is for something without any fruit bits inside, when it’s clear (like cranberry jelly). And jam is for puree fruit and sugar spread…? Since this scrub has the seeds and bits, I’d call this more of a jam! 😛
Anyway! I don’t think I could use this scrub, the irregular seeds would irritate my skin. I like pure sugar scrubs that’s regular sized and melts when I use it. I have smelled this at TBS and it smells really nice – I love berry scents. This really does look edible!

Maybe, I’ve had several Americans ask me what jam is before though so ended up presuming that it was all jelly to them! Maybe I’m wrong and they were just thick ha!
I like sugar scrubs and really looking forward to using the glazed Apple one that I got, I always feel like I use them up so quickly though because they melt. I like the value you can get from a scrub like this because you can move it around so much without it breaking down!
