Welcome Smooth Full Lips with Pixi’s Lip Polish

Pixi is a brand I keep wanting to explore further, they’re not stocked any where near me so it means I’ve only come across them a handful of times in the past. I dipped my toe into the line last year by making a Pixi Haul after their Sale section was crazily discounted, but their skincare still lay undiscovered to me until recently while I’ve been trying their Glow Tonic and thanks to a recent Love Me Beauty box I also picked up their Nourishing Lip Polish after hearing a few rave reviews since it’s relatively recent launch.

Lip scrubs are a product I don’t use often enough, I have two in my collection – a bubble gum one from Lush which I’ve always found really scratchy, and another from a brand called Etre Belle which to be honest isn’t the best as it’s so thin it moves around too easily, add to that it also tastes horrible. So adding a new one to my collection to try and restore my faith in lip scrubs was needed. The Nourishing Lip polish retails for £14, as as i’ve mentioned before I really love Pixi’s distinctive pale green packaging, it stands out in my collection and it’s always easy to find an item of pixis in a collection that’s often black packaging for makeup or clear when it comes to skincare.

The formulation of this is a thick clear gel made with Apricot and Grapefruit oils, which give a delicious but not overpowering scent to the product, with a sweet Grapefruit note being the real one that hits your nose rather than the Apricot (something i’m glad about as I’m not a big apricot fan!). There’s chunky exfoliating pieces, however I would describe the formula largely as a gel.

The rubber applicator is designed to be multi-purpose, with rubber nibs which help aid the exfoliation whilst also increasing blood flow designed to give the lips a plumper look once finished. So far, I do think this works but as someone who really doesn’t need to add any more volume to my natural pout I find that trying to sweep it back and forth to exfoliate can feel a little clumsy, so I tend to go back and forth a few times before I ditch it and massage the rest in with my finger.

The gel is slightly sticky feeling and whilst it’s a nourishing formula it doesn’t leave me feeling like I would want to leave it on my lips for an extra boost of moisture as it is so sticky. I tend to wipe away any residue (or lick it off – it’s not totally delicious, but doesn’t taste horrible). It’s working really well for me at the moment to make sure my lips stay nice and smooth and find myself reaching for it on a weekly basis, I think coming into winter as lips get more chapped you may need to up the anti to twice a week to keep those cracked lips at bay!

Pixi also have a really great loyalty points program to spend on future purchases too. If you want to sign up to become a VIP (you earn 250 points for just creating an account to become a VIP) or treat yourself to buying this – if you could use my referral code that would be great! Or alternatively it’s also available to buy the Pixi Lip Scrub at Cult Beauty.

After getting a sample of the glow tonic in my allure beauty box, I have recently added it to my routine as well. I am excited to see the results after using it for awhile! I have been on the look out for a lip scrub with winter just around the corner as I always have trouble with chapped lips. I will definitely keep this on my list to try….thanks!!!

I just heard that Pixi is coming back to Canada! Early next year they will be available at Shoppers Drug Mart (our biggest drugstore) YAY. Super excited for the Glow Tonic!
Interesting product especially the rubbery nib applicator. I wonder if you can use the tip even after the gel is gone.

Yeah I don’t see why not! The nib might even pop off and it could be refillable, I’ll try when it’s more empty! Oh yay for getting it back, I wish we had it stocked more widely here you can get the skincare in a few places but not the makeup, just online

The applicator is so interesting! I rarely use lip scrubs because having them in a pot is such a pain, the packaging on this is awesome!

After reading your blog I definitely want to try this as I’m in need of more lip scrubs. I would suggest you to try fresh’s lip scrub. It’s a good one. Don’t forget to follow my blog also for beauty and skincare product reviews and recommendations. Lots of love. Amna

Unfortunately we don’t get fresh over here in the uk, and the last time I checked on Sephora it’s a brand we can’t have delivered over either πŸ™
