A Mini TK Maxx Haul

On Sunday I quickly stopped into my favourite TK Maxx whilst making our way back from my friend’s wedding. I don’t very often get to stop into it as I’m rarely “that way” but they always seem to have a great selection of stock and people seem to stay relatively ‘respectful of the makeup’ (e.g no fingers swatched in eyeshadow palettes with giant chunks taken out’) and their handbag selection is often stocked with the best too (it still haunts me I didn’t buy the Alexander Wang Rocco I saw in there!)

I picked up 4 nail related items, although I was close to picking up a Too Faced Palette as it was a total bargain but most of the colours weren’t truly ‘me’ shades so I decided to put it down and be a good girl! (Or just save more pennies for Italian makeup shopping!)

First thing I spotted was this Ciate Nail Polish Remover Pot (£1.99), one where it has a sponge to dunk your finger in and sweep the polish off quickly and easily. I’m starting to run low on nail varnish remover, and I’ve always loved these for ease. I’ve not had the best of luck with Ciate polishes, so here’s hoping their nail care is slightly better, oh and it’s scented as Mint Choc Chip, need I say more why I got it?

Next up was a NARS polish, there was loads of NARS polishes and I got excited with about 20 all lined up – but they were all exactly the same shade, Purple Rain (£4.99). Whilst predominately purple, online swatches showed that it had a fuchsia and blue sparkle. I can see me wearing this a lot going into Autumn.

Lastly I spotted a little white box tucked at the bottom of the display, and when I pulled it out it was another NARS product from the Limited Edition Pierre Hardy collaboration. I was hoping it would be one of the nail polish Duos (£9.99) I had been eyeing from the collection but never purchased and it was! This is the duo in ‘Ethno Run’ which features a dark navy cream (Ethno Run Right), and a bright yellow toned orange cream (Ethno Run Left). I have nothing like Ethno Run Left at all that’s this yellowy, and the navy cream I have is a terrible formula so I’m hoping after the success of the first NARS polish I tried, that the three I picked up will have been a good investment!

A rather small, and maybe a little boring haul – 3 NARS polishes and a nail varnish remover! But I hope you enjoyed it regardless! I’m hopefully not buying anything else now until heading to Italy on the 23rd! I’m planning on doing a post on what I’m planning to try and find whilst there, but shopping is going to be bottom of my list to do. If you’ve been and have some recommendations please send them over, I’m struggling to find information on Italian Brands/Brands they have that we can’t get here!

I’ve never tried one of those nail polish removes before, but I’ve always wanted to though! The price you got them for is also amazing!

I wish the TK Maxx near me was good, it’s just a jumble sale where everythings been opened and tampered with. You got some great bits, especially love the look of the Purple Rain polish☺ Where abouts in Italy are you going? X

This one is definitely the best one and whenever I drive past I go in, the ones which are more my local ones never seem to have the same quality of things! Milan, and hoping if the weather is good to get the train up for the day to lake como

Haha, they’re pretty good for clothes too! 😀

Thats the one section I never look in! Homeware, Kitchen, Beauty, Shoes and Handbags always get a quick rummage. Clothes I can never be bothered to through everything!

I found this really nice shirt for work which was meant to be £50 and I got it for £15! It’s honestly worth a look, but you do need to spend a bit of time rummaging through the rubbish to get to the good stuff ^.^ x

An appropriate haul for a polish lover like yourself! That nail polish remover sounds interesting and the purple and navy shades are stunning, can’t wait to see swatches!

Good for you, not buying the tarte palette! I am guilty of buying things on sale even when the colors don’t suit me.
Love the NARS polishes! I only find cruddy shades at my store :p

There were two shades that looked really pretty Which was what tempted me, there were also a few blushes but the pans on them were so small I knew they were going to be difficult to use! If I hadn’t of made an effort to reorganize recently I doubt I would have thought about it but I’ve got a whole box of things I won’t use probably ever again and didn’t want to add another thing to it 😂

A small but awesome haul…quality over quantity! Those are some pretty decent products to get your hands on at a TK Maxx – I rarely have luck at Winners! The nail polish remover sounds intriguing. I wonder if it actually smells like mint chocolate!
Kudos to you for staying away from the Too Faced palette…I’m afraid I probably would have picked it up even if it wasn’t full of ‘me’ shades!

Loving the look of that orange Nars nail polish!

  9. September 7, 2016 / 11:00 pm

Mint chocolate chip scented remover? Wow! I hope it works for you.
That purple Nars polish is gorgeous! Would be nice as a pedi shade.

    • September 8, 2016 / 7:03 am

Sounds good doesn’t it! Hoping it smells and performs as good as it sounds!
Yes it would make a gorgeous pedi shade, I always have gels on my toes as I can’t be bothered to reach down – my legs are so long ha – and don’t have a too dissimilar colour on at the moment!

Lovely haul! That duo looks stunning! I’ve never tried Nars polishes before.

I have never heard anything about Nars nail polishes before, as always the packaging is beautiful and those shades are gorgeous!

    • September 8, 2016 / 10:01 pm

Agreed, they’re lovely! They make nice show pieces, I can’t wait to have my nail polish rack rehung so I can get all my nice ones lined up! x

      • September 9, 2016 / 3:07 am

Ahh, Nars is such a beautiful brand for displaying around your vanity.

I rarely go into TK MAXX but they seem to have some amazing deals x

It seems like a lot of effort to look through the rails of odd items!

        • September 9, 2016 / 9:26 am

Agreed, I can never be bothered it’s always so unorganised. Even if you go to your size I always seem to end up pulling out items which have been dumped there. And half the time they’re from made up brands of TK Maxx, not real discounts on good brands!

TK Maxx is such a nice shop even if it’s often unorganised!
