I haven’t yet had chance to try out the H&M beauty range as much as I would have liked for now. I would have liked as of yet. When it comes to new ranges I like to go to stores and get a feel for things in person, but for some reason the H&M stores around me just haven’t started stocking the beauty range yet so I’ve had little chance to spend a good chunk of time and have picked up a few bits in fleeting visits.
I picked up the Intergalatic polish in Valencia after being trapped in Valencia for an extra day thanks to a long weekend that was practically ruined by Easyjet in every possible way. I’d spotted this on Stashy’s blog when she hauled it and had it on my radar since then to pick up, but when I was on the look out for it in London on my first stop at H&M beauty it was no where to be seen. When I spotted it in Valencia and discounted I swiped it up straight away as I presumed that meant it was being discontinued. As it turns out Intergalatic was the theme for their fashion shows last fall, so I presume this was LE to tie in with this and it no longer seems to be on the website either.
In the bottle this is a navy with duo chrome sparkles that range with movement with tones of coppery red, yellow gold, teal and purple. Looking at it I knew I wanted it instantly as it looked really unique, and that the name Intergalatic was entirely appropriate.
The first coat of this was terrible, streaky and patchy and I was already starting to doubt how this was going to look and perform. The second coat glided on so much better and is pictured in this post as just one coat. Even as a polish to layer, I don’t think you would be able to use one coat by itself it was just that bad.
On the nails sadly this doesn’t quite translate to being quite as magical as it did in the bottle. The deep blackened navy base with the teal and purple hues are there, but none of the contrasting metallic toned copper and golds. Sometimes with these kind of polishes or holographics that the different shades in them appear more apparent in different lights, but I haven’t seem to be able to find one spot where this shows all the different tones that are in the. This is pretty, just not as pretty as I thought it was going to be.
In terms of wear time, it lasts quite well – I wore this without a basecoat, and with a topcoat and I found it lasted about 4 days before it started to chip a little. At day 6 it had chipped on every nail at the tips, but was showing no signs of budging any further, I had to forcibly remove it from my nail, with a good soak with remover.

This polish looks so pretty on your nails! I don’t know why but I imagine dark, moody shades like this would look too stark against my pale skin. I guess four days wear time isn’t too bad considering the price you paid!
I have a similar shade in OPI thats quite cool.
It reminds me of opi ink
Im skeptical of clothing brands bringing out makeup for some reason. I love this shade though x
Me too, that’s why I always want to see a range, touch it, swatch it, play with it before ordering online blindly!
This looks so good!

Lovely shade!

This is a really pretty shade, and a lot darker (blacker??) than I thought it would be! You are right though, it’s really too bad the gold and copper shades don’t turn out on the nails – makes it a bit less of a unique shade. I’m excited to try mine now!
This applies exactly as I thought it would! I’ve found through other polishes with similar effects that these polishes are always so sheer. I pretty much always need 3 coats. Or if I layer over a creme, I would need 2 of this as topper.
I’m still really looking forward to wearing this! I image this would be gorgeous over a purple creme base.
Love this … im trying to find a decent hollographic one at the moment..
Check out the color club ones on nail polish direct, or a England, best holos I’ve tried!
Thanks hun xx
My colour club order came today. Bae and date with destiny …. in love with them both! Thanks for the tip x
Well I don’t heave either of those shades so now I’m going to have to check them out 😉😉😉
I like the colour! It’s not something I would personally wear, but it suits you nicely. xx
That’s a beaut. Gonna have to hunt it down!
