After a bit of a meh box for me last month this month my Look Incredible box has arrived back through my door with a bit of a bang and I’m excited about what’s inside this month. I took a sneaky glance at instagram to peek at other people’s boxes and immediately I was excited for it’s arrival at my door.
The Look Incredible box has had a face lift, instead of the rubbish stickers that were on the old boxes, there’s now a luxe shiny gold logo emblazoned on the top, and weirdly a ribbon bow which doesn’t match at all, but is a cute touch I guess. For those who aren’t familiar with this service it’s a premium beauty box priced at about the £20 mark including delivery, but every item in the box is full size – and they’re for the most part from premium brands. I’ve had items from MAC for example – tell me another box that does that!
First up, the elephant in the room. A Bareminerals eyeshadow package glared out at me, and having tried their Soundtrack from a previous look incredible box and falling in love with the formula I was excited to have another. Then I saw the shade name and found out it’s exactly the same, yep, I received this already in the March Look Incredible box, and I’ve already reviewed the Soundtrack palette here. I’ve dropped them an email to see what they can do, as much as I love it, I definitely don’t need a backup! But with a pricetag of £25, the cost of the box is already covered in this one item! I think I was unlucky as back in March I couldn’t see another review which had this in, they all had duos, so I presume it was a mistake back in March rather than a mistake now!
Next up was the fusion beauty primer (£24.99), a brand which I had been unaware of until I received a concealer in a past Look Incredible box. This is a brightening primer with Chromabright particles and Licorice designed to combat photo aging and UV damage, promising a better complexion in 30 days. Sounds good and has me intrigued.
The third thing I pulled out was a little gem from NARS, I spied a NARS product on other people’s Instagram and I wasn’t sure what it was. This is a Pure Sheer Lip Treatment (£15) and mine is in the shade Paloma. These are a tinted lip balm and mine has an orangey hue, I don’t like the colour of the swatch on my skin, but I can imagine on the lips it will barely be noticeable.
I’ve not seen too much skincare in by subscription with this box so far, so was happy to see something included in this months box, especially as it’s from a brand which I haven’t heard of. This is the Ooh Organic Argan Moisture Retention Face Oil (£19). Face Oils are still a new thing for me and I only ever use them in the evening due to not wanting to add oil to my oily complexion pre makeup, but the more I try, the more I like using them!
Last up was the Benefit Ultra Shines lip gloss in the shade Foxy Lady (£9.99). Like I say all the time – not a big lip gloss wearer and kind of wishing I hadn’t opened and swatched this so I could have put it in my giveaway pile! This is a pink with orange undertones and a subtle blue fleck, I imagine over the right lipstick it would make the lips look really full and juicy.
Overall I’m impressed with the box this month, I’m hoping I can swap the Bareminerals product for something else but apart from the gloss which I’m not too bothered by, I’m excited to try everything else out! The total value of the box this month was 2p short of £94, and I’m sure you’ll agree that in terms of value for money, it’s probably the best!
