Collective Beauty Haul August 2016

Over the past week or so I’ve been in and out of a shops and have ended up with a few bits worth sharing. Kiko, H&M, Boots and TK Maxx were all hit up with just a few pieces in each that weren’t worthy of their own haul.

TK Maxx

The day before jetting of to Valencia I had a little time to kill before the big drive down to the hotel. I popped into TK maxx after seeing a few good TK maxx/tj maxx/winners hauls recently and I’d not been there in a while. I was super tempted by a Illamasqua eye palette which was so cheap but I didn’t think  I would get much use out of the colours. So I stuck to two things, the Brush Works complexion sponge (£3.99) which I want to compare against the Quo ones I have from Stashy and Chris @ Five Zero. I’ve already had one of these which I thought was the perfect dupe but got them muddled, so this time they will stay packeted until I manage to measure and photograph them side by side!

I spotted several Makeup Forever items which had mostly been opened but there was this gloss which I saw hidden at the back which looked un touched. I loved the cherry red shine and whilst I’m not the biggest gloss wearer I thought I might get some wear from this, and I’ve been desperate to try red lips more. At £5.99 it was cheap too!

H&M

Just one item from H&M – I was killing time whilst waiting to fly home in Valencia after our flight was cancelled the day before and the hotel we were put up in was next door to a massive shopping center. My case was literally bursting at the seams so I bought two things – a plain grey tshirt to change into and polish called intergalatic which was reduced to just 2 Euros. I think I’d been eyeing this after seeing it in a haul from Stashy (if it wasn’t her it was someone else) and it looked like it was being discontinued so I grabbed it whilst I could!

Kiko

Whilst wandering to find a toilet in the shopping centre to change into my new tee – I noticed that Kiko had a sale on so naturally took a wander in. I picked up two of their water shadows which I’ve not tried before but heard great things about, I resisted yet another peach shadow – although I was really tempted but picked up two shades. One was reduced to 4.40, the other was 8.80 – I thought they were all on sale until I got to the checkout but never mind, I was sold by that point with an arm full of swatches. Annoyingly one either got damaged on the way home – or it was damaged when I received it.

Boots

I spotted that the Real Techniques Brush collections had gone on sale (I felt like I’d been waiting for this day for about 6 months) at half price at £10.99 a set and I had triple points for RT purchase over £15 meant they were a great bargain too. I find I can’t have too many blush and fluffy shadow brushes so this set will be well loved.

I also picked up the Natural Collection brow gel in dark brown. I’m planning on pitting a few cheaper budget options against my new beau Benefit Brow and this was one of the ones I chose alongside another I already have. At £1.99 it’s no great loss if it’s terrible!

These didn’t make it to the main shot as I nipped into Boots the day after I’d finished it as I’d seen something online I really, really wanted to try – the new Real Techniques Bold Metals Diamond Sponge, I’ve been planning a Beauty Blender sponge show down and this will be the final one I’m going to compare against one another. Literally brand new.

COLLECTIVE-HAUL-nyx-tame-and-frame

In my last Boots Loyalty points I featured this Tame and Frame Brow Pomade from NYX, which I was enjoying using and testing as my first brow pomade, but I left it in Valencia or it fell out of my case somewhere along the way (I had a lot of case drama whilst away!), so I picked up another.

COLLECTIVE-HAUL-nyx-vivid-brights-violet

I also ordered this in my last Boots Points haul, but it arrived all dried up and I requested a refund which I got, but when I went back into store to return they didn’t stock NYX in that particular one so I couldn’t replace therefore it didn’t feature in the haul. The NYX vivid brights have been making waves across the blogging community and I wanted to give the bright liner shade a try, I picked up the shade indigo, which is a perfect halfway house between a blue and purple.

COLLECTIVE-HAUL-eco-tools-brush-cleaning-wipes

I also spotted these new makeup brush wipes from Eco Tools which had me intrigued as I’d never seen them before. Given my current brush spot cleaner from NYX was absolutely terrible I thought these might be worth a try. First impressions though (I’ve not even tried them) £6.99 for 25 wipes = Pricey, I already have high expectations!

That’s all – I told you there was only a few bits. Here’s to being good until September as we’ve just booked a spare of the moment trip to Milan, and I want some pennies for some italian makeup momentos! I do have my regular beauty boxes on their way (+ 1 more I couldn’t resist), but other than that I’m trying to be good now!

    Wow what a good haul!

I absolutely love Real Techniques brushes! I bought the eye set earlier in the year and while the brushes in the set are useful, my favourite eye brush of theirs is the shading brush which is sold on it’s own, it’s perfect for my small eyes. The new bold metals sponge look interesting, I look forward to reading your showdown. The Kiko eyeshadows are so pretty, love a nice shimmer ๐Ÿ™‚

It’s useful for everything, blending, applying to the crease and packing on colour. It’s so soft too!

What a lovely haul- the RT brushes were a bargain! I just recently got the Nyx eyeliner in the same shade and I love it! The brush is a little tricky to work with but the colour is lovely- not super in your face oh my god she’s wearing purple liner- but once you get up close you can see it. I love it!

    Remind me… aren’t you on a low-buy too? ๐Ÿ˜‰
I guess that sponge is such a spot on dupe, there’s no telling them apart!
Great score on the MUFE gloss! And hey, yes I have that H&M Intergalatic nail polish! It’s so pretty in the bottle… I suspect it will be rather sheer when applied. But I think I would try it over a black base.
Oh gawd, I’ve been wanting those Kiko eye shadows – that taupe one! Ahhhh…
That marble weird sponge… you know my thoughts on it! I hope it functions well for the shape. Don’t know why they couldn’t make it a solid grey instead. ๐Ÿ˜›

I gave up on my low-buy, but trying to be more considerate of what I’m buying still. No un-needed skincare/haircare etc until everything is cleared out. Wait you haven’t tried the polish yet?! I’ve started on my review, already worn it twice ha!

      • August 11, 2016 / 3:57 pm

You realize I literally have over 100 nail polishes I’ve never worn, right? I’m working on it… one week at a time. Plus, a lot of the colours I got are better suited for Autumn / Winter months.

        • August 11, 2016 / 4:05 pm

Yeah I don’t knew why I’m saying that Like I’m a saint frankly the fact this has been worn straight away is a definite rarity. Back on the Essie couture gel now. 3 days in and no chips!

          • August 11, 2016 / 4:21 pm

Fess up, how many polishes in your stash that remain unworn!
Good to hear the Essie is holding up! FINGERS crossed! ๐Ÿ˜›

Great haul. I love Kiko’s water eyeshadows. I have two and I think one of them is the same shade you got on the leftโ˜บ x

  7. August 11, 2016 / 3:53 pm

Great collective haul! The nail polish looks nice ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿ‘ Btw, I’ve wanted to ask you how do you make your post appear in the feed every now and then? What’s the trick?

    • August 11, 2016 / 4:06 pm

Magic (and rescheduling through the day) you have to do it ahead of time, so you can’t do it the minute that you’re on it has to be in the future if that makes sense!

      • August 12, 2016 / 6:14 am

Oh, okay! Thank you for answering! ๐Ÿ˜„๐Ÿ˜Š

  8. August 11, 2016 / 4:16 pm

Those Kiko shadows are beautiful! Wish we had access to the brand here.
It’s sometimes hard to resist the sales at TK Maxx/Winners/etc. when they’re such a good sale, even though you know you’re probably not going to use the product! Another part of the problem is when you find awesome deals but they’ve been opened!
I also have Intergalactic (bought it with Stashy, actually) – haven’t tried it yet but it’s such a pretty colour!

    • August 11, 2016 / 4:36 pm

I know what you mean with not needing what’s there, it’s that sale bargain that makes you think you’re getting a great deal without you actually needing it or wanting it.
Verdict on Intergalactic… prettier in the bottle! ๐Ÿ™

      • August 11, 2016 / 4:47 pm

Boo, how disappointing about Intergalactic! Maybe it would be better as a layering polish?

        • August 11, 2016 / 5:16 pm

Yeah maybe – it just doesn’t seem to have all the colours that it sparkles in the bottle, there’s red and orange tones which are no where to be seen. It is pretty, just not as pretty as expected, maybe I’m being harsh!

  9. August 12, 2016 / 1:45 am

Ooh those KIKO shadows look beautiful! I’ve been dying to try KIKO but the nearest store is four hours away. ๐Ÿ™

Great haul! There’s so many great stuff mentioned. Those Kiko shadows look pretty, despite one of them being damaged!
