Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Face Mask Review

Kiehl's Cranberry and Turmeric Face Mask

Here we are at number 20 in my face mask Friday Series, it’s a rather special one this week to celebrate! Ever since visiting the blogging event with Kiehl’s back in March where we were introduced to this mask as a new launch I’ve been dying to try it, and falling in love with many of Kiehl’s products since too. I picked up the Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Face Mask a few weeks ago as part of my London haul, and the store where the event was actually sent me a few pieces including a mini of this which reminded me this week that I haven’t actually had chance to try it yet.

The Turmeric and Cranberry Seed mask is designed as a morning mask, for pre-makeup application to really brighten up the skin and encourage radiance. The cranberry seeds inside are soft and are there to exfoliate the skin gently, in a way this mask kind of reminds me of The Body Shop Blue Corn mask in texture with the gentle exfoliating quality attached.

I don’t know about you but morning masks whilst sounding utterly delightful, is something a bit hard for my brain to actually fathom doing. Despite only needing to be worn for ten to fifteen minutes, my mornings are a time of rushing about and the idea of doing this just once a week, let alone two to three as recommended, seems highly unlikely. If you’re a person who has time for morning masks, I envy you in every way.

Despite being a morning mask, that hasn’t stopped me using it this in the evening a couple of times. The mask is thick and creamy and feels quite luxurious on the skin, it almost has a clay like texture and somewhere between five and ten minutes it’s pretty much dried out. It has a slightly cooling and tingly feeling as it’s drying out, but I found once it had completely dried after about fifteen minutes is started itching slightly (it’s almost like a reminder to take it off). I buffed mine off in circular motions using a muslin cloth (note will make muslin cloth orange), and the mask rehydrates and buffs away easily. I did find it to be a little bit messy as the cranberry seeds whilst gentle and felt really nice on the skin had a tendency to stick to the skin, and found I was picking them off at the end.

My skin instantly felt soft and smooth, I noticed my pores were smaller and the perpetual blackheads on my chin were reduced in number. Not only that but I noticed my skin looked like it had more colour and also that it . Whilst I was using this in the evening and it sounded to me it would be a mask that will give you a temporary radiance boost was still glowy and with more colour in the morning.

The Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Face Mask now joins the top spot with The Body Shop Blue Corn mask as my favourite. I’m desperate to now try the Kiehl’s Cilantro and Orange mask which is a moisturizing mask that can be worn overnight. Next time I’m passing Kiehl’s (maybe in Duty free in a few weeks, although we are flying early as hell) may have a Kiehl’s where I can grab one! At £28 I think this might be the most money I’ve spent on a mask – but that being said a little of this goes a long way, I was surprised just how little I needed of this and how far it spread, I imagine this tub may give me around 30 uses, I might keep record and report back when it eventually appears in my empties! I will definitely where possible – use this pre-makeup for special occasions,  I can imagine before an evening out this would be a great product to pamper yourself with that doesn’t take ages!

Hidden Kiehl’s Turmeric & Cranberry Seed Face Mask giveaway! I’ve decided to giveaway that sample pot I received, it’s granted not the largest but will have a good two-three uses inside I would expect. All you have to do is be following my blog on wordpress or bloglovin and leave a comment telling me what your favourite mask/s is. I’ll leave this open for a week (Midnight 22nd July 2016) and it is open internationally, make sure I know how to contact you if it’s not obvious!

They green tea one is definitely one of my fave sheet masks that I’ve tried! I can’t talk highly enough of the blue corn, all my friends have bought it cause I banged on about it and they love it too!

I need to find a good face mask. I had such a horror with superdrugs Β£1 cucumber cooling mask that completely burned my face that I’ve been to scared to gear towards any mask for that matter.

I’ve only ever tried a face mask once hahaha! It was Superdrug’s own brand, the Superfruits Exfoliating mask. I realy liked it and really need to try the others. You get so much product for just 99p! It’s amazing! x

A morning mask! What has time to do a mask in the morning – ha! πŸ˜›
This sounds like a nice summer time mask though. I’ve been curious about the new Kiehl’s masks but still unsure if I want to shell out the $$$ for something that just gets rinsed off! πŸ˜›
That said, my favourite mask is from Clarins, their Pure & Radiant pink clay mask. It smells so good too.

I love this mask! It actually makes a visible difference to the skin. I love that it’s both clarifying and brightening, just makes the skin look really healthy. Clarifying masks often leave the skin a bit dull and dry but this one doesn’t. The only thing I don’t like about it is the price!

Ah, I love masks! I used a Turmeric mask the other day from a different brand and also loved it! I never thought that turmeric would make a good mask ingredient but there you go! Kiehl’s is a brand I always want to buy from but I struggle to spend that much on lotions right now, in the future I’m sure I’ll be a convert though. I think my favorite mask is the Clark’s Botanicals Deep Moisture Mask. When my skin is peeling in the winter out of dryness, that mask saves me. And it’s a leave-on mask so I can slather it on before bed and wake up with plump, hydrated skin! The only downside is the $72 price tag.

Yikes that’s pricey! Not sure if we get that brand here, I’ve not heard of it! Kiehls are supposedly a brand you can wander into a store from and get samples, so far I’ve been in three times and been given about 15 samples, so it’s worth a wander in even if you have no plans to buyπŸ˜‰

      • July 16, 2016 / 2:36 pm

Clark’s Botanicals is available online only which is kind of a bummer that shipping is another cost on top of the mask. Ooo I didn’t know they were so generous with samples! I’ll definitely stop in and pick up a few, thank you!

Dermalogica multivitamin power recovery mask 😊 great review on this mask, makes me want to try it!

My favourite mask is Kiehl’s rare earth deep pore cleansing masque. That body shop blue corn has many people’s attention. I think I’ll check that out.
Interesting review πŸ˜€ maybe I’ll get lucky πŸ˜› I won’t use it in the morning for sure haha
