Clothing & Accessories Haul – ASOS, Primark & Accessorize

Three hauls in a row – this almost never happens any more! As I’ve mentioned several times of late I’m going abroad in a few weeks for a hen party for one of my oldest friends. I’ve been on a heavy diet for the past almost 7 weeks – results of which you’ll see soon! And was in need of picking up a few bits to see me through – without wanting to buy too much either (as hopefully I’ll be continuing to shed inches after I’ve finished my review!). I stayed as cheap and cheerful as possible, picking up a few core pieces from the likes of the ASOS sale, Primark and Tesco.

Accessorize

Stripe & Leather Backpack – £16 (not exact one online but similar here)

I’d seen lots of pretty backpacks on Accessorize’s website and went in to see them in store – they didn’t have the ones I’d seen online. They did have a giant sale on though so this one had been reduced from £35 to £22 – and then had extra money off at the till! I wanted a rucksack for then hen do I’m going on as we only have hand luggage and wanted a practical bag to cram everything into instead of my handbag!

Holo/Mermaid Makeup Bag – £5 (not online)

Definitely did not need this – but couldn’t resist! Again in the sale and reduced from £10 to £5 – it was the last on the shelf and it had to be mine! I actually don’t have any makeup bags this size so will be practical for something!

Gemstone Hairband – £7.50 (link)

Another sale spot that I found hard to resist, yet again I’ve bought another hair accessory with the potential of it being a piece I might want for my wedding. I loved the vintage look to this with pearl and super sparkly decoration. Another item that’s going to be kept aside safe for when I’ve got my dress and I’ll have a better idea of how I may want my hair. This looks just as nice as some more expensive ones I’ve seen (4 times the price) and the quality seems no different either!

ASOS

ASOS Tall Cage Playsuit – £27  (link)

Another piece I got with the mind to take away with me, and probably my favourite from this haul! This is the first playsuit I’ve found that actually fits my body length. I like that this looks pretty dressy and looks really flattering on. It has a cross over wrap style that buttons into place with a plunging neckline. The cotton is very light and will be good for the warmer weather that we’ll be heading too (hopefully!). On the model the wrap seems to come further round but it’s much more open on me, I might see if I can move the pin – otherwise I might have to find a pretty bralet to wear with it.

ASOS Tall Lace Detail Shorts – £10 (link)

I ordered loads of shorts from ASOS but only ended up keeping two pairs. This one is my favourite of the two – with pretty lace detail at the edge I think these would be nice dressed up or for the beach too.

ASOS Decorative Faux Collar – £6  (link)

I was looking for one of these all autumn and couldn’t find one I liked anywhere! I love the look of shirts collars poking out the top of jumpers but due to really struggling to find a shirt that actually fits and does up over my boobs I’d been looking out for a faux one. When I spotted this one in the sale I hoped so much it will fit (I swear most of the ones I’ve tried have been sized for kids) and luckily it did!

Schuh

Striped Vans – £29.99 (link)

 clothing-and-accessories-haul-july-2016-vans

I’ve been on the look out for some new Vans to replace my favourite suede ones which I’ve had for about three years which I’ve sadly had to admit are knackered. I’ve been on the look out for some replacements for about 6 months and saw a few pairs in the sale at Schuh I liked. None of which were in my size so I had to order a pair in! The thing I liked about this pair was the colour (hide the dirt!) and the texture of them isn’t completely smooth and gives me the impression it will be harder wearing. I’m heading to London this weekend and they’ll be coming with me, and will also come with me abroad, comfy shoes for lots of walking.

Primark

Copper Cage Lights – £6

I’ll start with the non fashion/accessories item first! I first saw these about two months ago in Primark and regretted never getting them! I purely wanted them for blog photos (I guess I’m *that* person now!) but thought these would make some interesting bokeh detail. (I’m even sighing at myself now!). Typically I can’t find where I’ve put them, but you’ve seen them peeking in the corners of my last few hauls.

Beach Towels – £7 Each

I was in need of a new towel to take away with me as all my beach towels have somehow turned into wet dog towels. I was on the hunt for something of a decent size, that was also as thin as possible due to not having the luxury of space and the blue one looked perfect! I went back a second time and found the one that I was looking for having seen it online – so ended up with a spare too. I’ll be taking the tropical print one with me, it’s slightly thinner and it has pretty red tassle edges too.

Hogwarts Pyjama Dress – £5

   clothing-and-accessories-haul-july-2016-primark-hogwarts

I don’t have a lot of pyjamas suited for warmer weather and saw this and grabbed it thinking I could just pair with some looser shorts! Given the hen party I’m going on is staying with a lot of people I don’t know I also wanted something to cover up a little.

Pyjama Top – £5

clothing-and-accessories-haul-july-2016-pj-top

I wasn’t particularly on the hunt for a pjyama top but I spotted it and thought it looked pretty – it has a hidden support band, I love the delicate lace detail and it’s in a super soft and cosy fabric without feeling heavy – perfect for summer!

Shorts – £5

I’d watched a few primark hauls and had massive list of things I wanted to find and I couldn’t find a single thing. Getting some pretty, but cheap shorts were on my list and these were pretty much the only ones in my size (seriously never going to primark on saturday ever again) – and lots of the bobble edged ones I’d been eyeing were no where to be seen in Peterborough’s Primark! These are a loose crepe type material with an aztec pattern and frayed edge. They look semi sheer so only really good for the beach or pool – but I haven’t tried them on yet so I may be wrong.

Beach Cover Up – £5

This was reduced down from £9 to £5 – I really liked the linen type fabric with muted neon stripes – I got this in a large as I couldn’t be bothered to try it on, but it has a tie at the waist which you can tie as tight as needed so I figured it didn’t matter too much!

Necklace – £5

clothing-and-accessories-haul-july-2016-primark-necklace

Remember when primark necklaces were literally £2?! They’re so much pricier than they used to be, I used to buy 5 at once and never even think about it as they were so cheap, but I only chose one this time! I liked this a lot with it’s boho mirrored detailing at the bottom and I don’t actually have anything too similar which with a statement necklace collection like mine is real surprising!

Travel Bottles – £1

Self explanatory – a handy little set for decanting a few bits to take with me to become hand luggage size flight friendly!

Tesco

Beach Shorts – £8 (Not Online)

clothing-and-accessories-haul-july-2016-tesco-shorts

Typically when I went to Tesco they had the exact style of shorts I’d seen available in Primark from other people’s hauls but wasn’t in my local store! I love this mono tribal and neon combo, they had lots of different prints in this cut. There was no pairs of the ones I purchased on the website – but hopefully you can see the cut okay!

What do you think of the pieces I picked up?

Wow so much summery STUFF! I haven’t bought much in the way of actual summer clothes. It’s fun to look at but I’m not big into summer clothes since my office is freezing cold, I tend to still wear Spring type clothing.
Oooh the makeup bag! Totally mermaid looking.
LOVE that romper! Or erm you call it playsuit haha I love the different terms we use. 😛
And that faux collar is so retro looking – very 50’s inspired – do you put that over a cardigan?
