You name dry shampoos that are on the high street and there’s a good chance that I’ve tried it. For the 18 months or so I’ve been pretty devoted to the Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo, there’s been ones that have come close from the likes of CoLAB, but nothing has come to beat the sheerness of Aussie. I’d been recommended this Fudge Dry Shampoo a few times on my blog and other peoples over the past few months and it’s just stuck in my mind to try it since.
I was sold when stumbling into it two weeks ago whilst in Superdrug – described as smelling of crisp pear and sweet vanilla it went in my basket straight away as I knew I was beginning to run low on my last bottle of the Aussie Miracle one.
The formula of this is very similar to Batiste it has a very powdery texture and heavy white cast on my brown roots. If anything I think this might even be more powdery than Batiste, I tend to apply this concentrated on my roots where I get the greasiest build up through the day. Leaving to the grease to soak in for a good 5 – 10 minutes I then brush my hair through, unlike Batiste which with one application tends to make my hair look grey from one use, this brushes out to just a slight white cast left behind, but compared to Aussie which is totally clear, it still loses some points.
It also loses points for leaving a heavier feeling of residue in my hair, the hair doesn’t feel as clean as what I’ve been used to – it does have a powdery texture. the scent lingers in the hair for about an hour, and whilst it’s not my favourite – as I’m not the biggest fan of Vanilla scents, and it’s more vanilla than pear – it’s not wholly unpleasant at least leaves the hair smelling cleaner and more fresh. One thing it does help with is adding a bit of a volume boost.
Unlike Aussie which I can use for more than one day in a row if necessary, I find consecutive days with this just make my hair look greyish and feel horrid, heavy and full of powder. I think those with blonde locks all over might like this more than I do, overall I like this for one day – but I have only been reaching for this on days where I know that I am 100% definitely going to be washing my hair at the weekend, Overall I like the Fudge Dry Shampoo, I’ll use it up – but I don’t love it. For darker haired gals like me I don’t think anything compares the invisible qualities of Aussie.

I’ve been using Batiste shampoo, but I think I should try Aussie too. I also hate when dry shampoo makes my dark hair gray-ish after using it.

I know right – initially in the shop I did think it did but when I got home and was actually using it, not so much. Aussie seems to be a hit/miss product in reviews but for me it’s a hit, I must have used 10+ bottles of it, really works for me!
Finding a good dry shampoo is hard. Lol. I’m on the hunt for a good one.

Yeah probably not, I’ve got dark brown roots and it’s bad enough for me!
I’ve never tried dried shampoo before, but the scent of this does sound nice – I am a fan of vanilla! In the past if I’ve needed to combat greasy hair I’ve used talcum powder 🙂
