Spring Makeup Look

Other than switching up my lip colour to match the weather I’m not someone who usually changes up my makeup for the season, but for some reason this year I’ve really taken a dive into my collection and changed things up in my makeup drawers for Spring. So here’s my current go to spring makeup look.

Elf Tone Adjusting Face Primer has been the newest added to my collection and definitely one that I’m still deciding on. It’s purple tone and adds a lot of brightness to the skin which is great for a spring makeup look of course.

Maybelline Dream Satin Liquid is made for spring, with a gorgeous luminous finish this stops the skin from looking flat whilst providing a medium but buildable coverage. It also contains a smidge of SPF that isn’t too high, but probably just enough to get away with during spring months.

To stop myself getting oily the powder I’ve been reaching for at the moment is the New Look Pure Colour Pressed powder also with SPF, this is the first product I’ve tried from the New Look range (a clothes shop for my abroad friends!) and I must say for £2.99 it does a really good job adding a little bit of coverage, mattifying the skin without it starting to look completely flat.

Next up is concealer, this is so god darn expensive but man is it good. The Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer is great, it really is every bit as good as people are talking about, lightweight, unnoticeable on the skin but it’s so high coverage without being cakey in the slightest. Great for under the eyes and creating a real flawless look.

The Sleek Blush By 3 palette you’ll know i’m trying to use up if you saw my recent post but I don’t think there could be a better time of year to try and finish up that middle shade. Similar to NARS Orgasm (which I’ll probably replace this with when it’s finally gone!) but its a lovely pink with gold shimmer running through it’s not too pigmented but just adds a healthy glow to the cheeks without being too much.

At the moment I’m opting for a more subtle contour (because I’m enjoying an extra 5 minutes in bed instead of attempting to make myself look like Kim K), and with a big fluffy brush I’m just adding some of The Balm Bahama Mama Bronzer to add a bit of definition to the face in the cheekbones.

Last for face is Freedom Pro Highlight in Diffused, this is lovely for washing all over the face like the Hourglass Ambient lighting powders they do a fantastic job of copying. In the pictures of this look I’ve got this across the forhead, tops of cheekbones, down nose and on the cupids bow and it adds an undetectable light to the face that’s so flattering. This is still new to be and I’ve not reached for it all that much yet but I can see this becoming a favourite quickly

I’m not reaching for mascara a lot at the moment as I’ve got lash extensions on but now they’re starting to thin out occasionally I will reach for a coat or two and Covergirl Clump Crusher Mascara has been the one which I’ve tended to reach for. I did love this when I got this from New York but I can’t have used this more than 10 times and it already seems like it might be close to trying up. If you do have this mascara (or the max factor equivalent let me know if it is prone to drying up quickly!)

Absolute Primer Eyelid Primer is not one that I’m besotted with mainly because of the gross rubbed off packaging that looks shameful but I’m determined to see this finish so I can replace it with my favourite one. That being said it does do the job well and there’s not really anything to complain about as eyeshadow does stay in place all day with this.

theBalm Schwing has me converted and I’m not looking forward to the day that it runs out and I have to use something else from my collection. Completely matte without any flaking off or transferring, and it’s a product that really does last from 8am until 11pm.

ModelCo More Brows continues to be the brow product of choice for it, adding a little bit of filling in and thickening without making my already deep brows be the only attraction on my face. Less is more when it comes to brows for me and this is just perfect.

The Makeup Revolution Iconic 3 Palette which is a dupe for the Urban Decay Naked 3 palette. I bought the MR version over Urban Decay as I thought I wouldn’t reach for this all that often but I’m definitely having a moment with this palette and find myself reaching for it a lot at the moment. The first 5 shades have had a lot of use for every day for a bright eyed pink look which really brightens the eyes with one of those mid browns worked into the crease and outer corner. I do love that copper colour in here which I reach for a lot in evenings, but the first 5 are the stars of this palette for me.

spring-makeup-look-lips

Last but not least is lips of course and this is duo which matches perfectly to one another, MAC’s Brave with a smidge of Fleur De Force written in the stars gloss in the centre of the lip makes them look full and juicy and the slight pink peach tone in both take them away from being a brown tone nude into a prettier shade for spring.

Beautiful look! I have to try Make Up For Ever Ultra HD Concealer! It’s so pricey though…! xx

Lovely look! You definitely look very springy!
I know you said you’re still deciding about that elf primer, but how do you find it holds up and makes the makeup last on your skin so far? I’ve been looking at that for ages but never knew anyone who has tried it!

I think it’s okay for the money but not the best thing I’ve ever tried – It just has such an odd half siliconey, half oily texture which just makes me feel greasy even though I don’t look it

I’ll probably avoid it then because I have tons of inexpensive primers that I feel that exact same way about already. Thanks!

Beautiful eye makeup! And boy, you sure like that middle blush in the Sleek palette 😀 NARS Orgasm is great, though – you’ll love it!

Thanks Chris 😀 I used to use it all the time but it’s fell by the way side a bit recently I’ve popped it back in rotation and I’m trying to reach for it over the Estee lauder one I’ve just replaced to get it gone… and NARS in it’s place of course!

Fabulous look! Your skin looks airbrushed! 😀
Yes, I did find the CG Clump Crusher to get used up quickly for some reason. Maybe the wand? I do like it enough to continue using it though. 😛
That Fleur De Force gloss looks amazing!

    • April 18, 2016 / 4:45 pm

I’ve probably only used it 3 times apart from this past week where I’ve gone back to it a few times and it’s almost unusable! Puzzling could understand if I was using it a lot and it had got a lot of air in it, but it’s disappointing after so few uses, at first I loved it though so maybe I’ll need to try and get my hands on another!

Love that eye makeup! And Brave looks beautiful on you! xx

I love this look! I also have the freedom highlighter and it’s one of my favorites! Such a gorgeous and pigmented highlighter. I also have the eyeshadow palette haha, which is also one of my go-to palettes!
    Awesome post xx

Thank you! ❤️ I’m building up a little freedom collection too! Everything from the brand is such amazing quality without even considering how cheap it is, it would be good for triple the price!!

I need to get my hands on that Bahama Mama bronzer!

    • April 18, 2016 / 9:40 pm

Hands down the best bronzer I’ve ever tried, you wouldn’t guess looking at this it’s been my go to daily for the past 5 months, it still looks basically untouched… Apart from that nick in the powder which I did the day I got it and it annoys me everyday haha!

      • April 19, 2016 / 7:11 am

Oh man, i know i hate that feeling when you ruin a makeup product that is completely new!

Very lovely look! I love your lashes. I’ve been thinking about getting extensions for awhile now! x

At this point theses has been on for over 3 weeks and they’re still holding up after over 4! Think you have to find the right person but they are great and save a lot of time!
