I bought this Sally Hansen Cuticle Eraser Balm almost a year ago now, and even photographed it straight away (yay for year old pictures!) but it’s laid relatively unloved until recently when the winter starting really getting the worst of my cuticles I decided it was time to actually start trying this out and seeing whether it was any good at actually tackling the job.
Disappointedly, for some reason looking at this I thought it was going to smell of mint, but it doesn’t. I saw lots of rave reviews of this product and sadly it doesn’t really deliver for me, I really don’t like the texture, it’s sticky and really messy to apply. It never rubs into the skin so you have to be in a situation where you can cope with having sticky fingers for an hour or so it’s lived in my handbag for the past 2 months and I’ve only ever been able to use it at my desk at work.
Add to that the sticky horrible mess it leaves after 6 weeks of using this pretty much every day, my cuticles are still not any better than what they were. I’m blessed with a bout of dry hangnails especially on my thumbs and the Sally Hansen Cuticle Eraser doesn’t exfoliate them as it promises, and it doesn’t soften them enough to help buff them away and repair. Overall a let down
If you have any tips for getting rid of dry cuticles and hang nails, please do let me know in the comments, at this point I’m willing to try just about everything and anything.

Hi there, thanks for following my blog! I can’t wait to read more of your posts. Also, this products seems like a great idea but too bad it didn’t work out for you. Have you tried rubbing argan oil on your cuticles? It works for me! x
Hi, thanks Valerie and I can’t wait to read yours too! no I haven’t I do have some argan body oil though so I’ll have to give that a go 🙂 xxx
Yes! I’ve been obsessed with argan oil lately, hehe. x
Great! I will try it!
Oh no! So bummed to hear that! I am obsessed with cuticle oils, butters, and balms! Lush’s Lemony Flutter Cuticle Butter is a favorite — it smells delicious + moisturizes incredibly well. A little goes a really long way. Sally Hansen makes a cuticle oil pen that’s great, my only gripe is that I use it up too quickly. I love any oil that comes with an eye dropper! I’ll leave them by my bed/on my desk. Gelish makes an amazing oil called “Nourish”. Hope that helps!!
Ooh I’ve not heard of that, I’ll have to go check it out sounds good enough to eat haha! Thanks for the tips I’ll check all of those out 🙂 xxxx
You’re welcomeee! 🙂
I bought this last year and thought it was terrible!
Oh good I’m glad it wasn’t just me who thought it was rubbish!
If you can find it, Blue Cross cuticle remover is the best thing I’ve ever used. I’ve only ever seen it at Sally Beauty Supply:

I’ll look that up here, I know our Sally’s stock very different lines to your guys’
This looks so pretty, pity it didn’t work for you. Have you tried the Burt’s Bees Cuticle balm thing? I’ve found it works really well with my cuticles and it’s slightly thicker and doesn’t have the slightly gritty and greasy feel I often seem to get with the Lush Lemony Flutter though it does pretty much the same job. I’m yet to find anything for hang nails though.
