March 2016 Empties

I was hoping to film last months empties as my first youtube video but I’m still recovering from a horrid cough and cold from last weekend and didn’t want to kick off being a nasaly coughing mess! I was surprised that March’s Empties weren’t bigger this month I thought I’d used up loads this month but actually it was about below average for me and I can squeeze it all into one post this month!

Zoella Scrubbing Me Softly Body Scrub (review)

zoella-scrubbing-me-softly-body-scrub-review

I actually really enjoyed this Body Scrub and will be keeping my eyes peeled for if it goes to being discounted to pick up another but don’t need to repurchase another immediately as I do have one from H&M on the go. This lasted about 10 weeks which I think is good for a body scrub personally,  you needed little of this as it really moved around the skin well and didn’t break down either.

Repurchase? Yes

Dr Bronners Magic Soap in Rose (reviewdr-bronners-magic-soap-march-2016-empties

This is my favourite thing to clean my brushes with. I pitted this against the Real Techniques cleanser in the links above and I just find that you need so little of this in comparison, this bottle has lasted me about 2 years of brush cleaning. I have about one round of cleaning left in my Real Techniques bottle so thought I should pick up another so I don’t end up getting caught without one.

Repurchase? Already have, but in Citrus this time!

Mitchum Ultimate Pure Fresh

mitchum-ultimate-deodorant-march-2016-empties

I wouldn’t normally mention deodorants but these from Mitchum are fab, no odour, moisturising and creamy. I really like these and I’ve found they’ve reduced ingrowing hairs under my arms too.

Repurchase? Already have

L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Treatment and Conditioner (review)

loreal-elvive-extraordinary-clay-empties

I’m still working on finishing the shampoo from this line (I swear I need a conditioner bottle triple the size of shampoo to finish it at the same time!). The team of this set together works really well in prolonging how long I can go between washing my hair, but the treatment is the star product in that range – without that the other two just aren’t as great. For those who wanted me to provide an update on the range, it did really work for me, extending the need to wash my hair from 2 to 4 days.

Repurchase? Treatment, yes but after my shower is a bit less full. Conditioner maybe if on offer but wouldn’t feel as urged to get it as the treatment.

Aussie Miracle Dry Shampoo

aussie-miracle-dry-shampoo-march-2016-empties

Spoken about in many, many empties and one of my most repurchased products ever! No colour, no residue and makes my hair look, feel and smell clean. I won’t ramble too much as it’s in almost every other empties!

Repurchase? Already have

Sephora Rose Mask (review)

sephora-rose-masque-march-2016-empties

This was only reviewed last week so I won’t talk too much about this. But I didn’t like this at all, it did absolutely nothing for my skin no moisturising, no smoothing and no brightening.

Repurchase? Nooooope!

Kerastase K Spray a Porter Hairspray

kerastase-k-noire-hairspray-march-2016-empties

I didn’t love this, I didn’t think it provided a lot of hold to hair at all for curls etc they just fell out quickly, I ended up using this more for smoothing down my hair when it was in a pony tail to prevent fly aways, and it’s a very expensive hairspray for just that use!

Repurchase? No

Body Shop Harvest Peach Shower Gel

the-body-shop-vineyard-peach-march-2016-empties

I loved this scent, sadly it was limited edition and I can’t get my hands on it again, but in general Body Shop Shower gels are my favourite they last me so long!

Repurchase? Already have purchased another Body Shop one

Dermalogica Solar Defense Booster

dermalogica-solar-defence-booster-review-march-2016-empties

I’ve used up a fair few of these sachets this month. I’ve had them lying around since 2012 and still haven’t finished them up, at least being sealed sachets they should be okay! This was fine, an SPF, nothing to write home about!

Repurchase? Unlikely

Excuviance Purifying Clay Masque (review)

excuviance-purifying-clay-masque-review-march-2016-empties

I think this might be the first full size (other than single use) face masks that I’ve actually used up, and it’s one of the newest in my collection which is testament to just how much I liked it. It smoothed the skin and drew out impurities from the skin. I also used this as a treatment on spots to help soothe and reduce them. Despite being a little tube, I’d say I got about 15 uses on this plus the spot treatment too. A good value product that actually did something!

Repurchase? Maybe in future, but I have so many face masks I need to use up so not in the future. I would thoroughly recommend it though if you’re on the market for  one similar

Nuxe Reve De Miel Hand Cream

nuxe-reve-de-miel-hand-and-nail-cream-march-2016-empties

I was expecting to LOVE this as I adore the lip balm from the Reve De Miel range but this was rubbish. I had dry hands, terrible cuticles and this didn’t even touch it. It was nice and lightweight and I liked that it wasn’t noticeable once on. But this was just rubbish at helping hand recovery.

Repurchase? No

Ole Henriksen Sheer Transformation Moisturiser (reviewole-henriksen-sheer-transformation-moisturizer-march-2016-empties

I really enjoyed using this and was suprised that this little sample lasted me about a month! It was great for under make up as it was lightweight and everything sat well on top of it. After a recent skincare consultation at Kiehls I learnt that my face is very oily in places and will look at things more specific for oily skin moving forward.

Repurchase? Probably not as I’ll look for something more oil balancing in moisturisers moving forward. But I did enjoy using this if you’ve been eye it up!

Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment (review)

ole-henriksen-invigorating-night-treatment

I actually really enjoyed using this and I’ve never really gravitated towards treatments in the past. Containing 12% AHA this helps resurface and texture skin overnight and after a week or so of use I noticed my skin was softer and smoother thanks to this. Since I’ve stopped having this to hand I have noticed a difference in my skin’s texture, I’m going to see if I can find anything in my stash with AHA’s to replace this as a nightly treatment.

Repurchase? Considering it, but it’s out of budget for this month!

Dior Poison Girl Perfume

dior-poison-girl-review

This was out new this month and I was sent a sample to trial. This is much younger than the usual poison perfumes and actually, I really really like this! It’s not too sweet but it doesn’t have that same muskiness that the rest of the line has.

Repurchase? I’m not in the market to purchase any perfumes at the moment, but I’d consider it if I were!

Catherine Malandrino Style de Paris

charlotte-mandrino-style-de-paris-perfume

I know you shouldn’t judge a perfume by it’s packaging, but this is some pricey stuff in a terribly designed label (not exclusive to the sample, the full size isn’t great either!). This is much more citrusy than what I’d normally opt for and whilst I didn’t mind using it, it wouldn’t go back to repurchase either.

Repurchase? No

Let me know if you’ve tried any of these items before and whether your thoughts matched up with mine or not!

    Great picks!

The Loreal clay shampoo is horrible, I tried It and made my hair feel really greesy and thick! Not a winner for me 🙁

    • April 11, 2016 / 9:35 am

Ahh I had the opposite experience, gone from needing to wash every other day to every 4 days with it! Star product is the treatment rather than the shampoo or conditioner, but equally they didn’t offend me either! Xxx

Great post! I love the zoella scrub! I will try the new Elseve Shampoo and conditioner soon! Did you say that the treatment is the star of the range? Like, the conditioner?

    • April 11, 2016 / 7:23 pm

It’s a pre conditioner treatment that you leave on the scalp got 5/10 minutes. That’s the product out of the range which really makes the difference in extending the need to wash for me x

Is everyone starting a YT channel these days? 😛
I like the sounds of that Ole Henriksen Invigorating Night Treatment – 12% AHA is rigtht up my alley!

    • April 12, 2016 / 6:12 am

I know right! Been one of my goals for the past year it’s the actual getting round to doing it that’s tough! Filmed a few weeks vlogs but they’ve never gone up!

  8. April 12, 2016 / 1:13 am

I’ve started using the liquid version (as opposed to the bar) of Dr. Bronners Soap to clean my brushes and I agree, it’s awesome. I’m using the Almond scent and it smells delicious!

Mitchium makes the best, most effective deodorant, I’ve been using it for years and I’ll try other brands and always end up back to it.

That peach Body Shop shower gel sounds amazeballs! 🙂

    • April 12, 2016 / 6:13 am

I’ve had the almond liquid one before and it smells so good; I was actually hunting for that when I bought this but it was unscented or citrus so clearly citrus was the only choice! Xx

Wow, that’s quite a lot! I wash my hair every day, but I really want to give the L’Oreal Clay products a try!

Wow, I barely finish one product in like months! I was wondering if the shampoo actually works – the clay one. I might actually try it. Great post!

    • April 12, 2016 / 10:10 am

Thank you! I’ve got so much half used stuff it comes in waves of having loads one month to nothing the next, I’m really trying to declutter at the moment so saying to myself starting nothing new until the half used stuff is gone!

The dry shampoo sounds wonderful! I haven’t seen it in stores in NZ so hopefully I can get it online somehow 🙂

Crazy amount of empties!! I like Dr Bronner’s for makeup brush cleaning, too, but it takes me forever to use up a bottle (I have this ginormous one).

    • April 20, 2016 / 1:54 pm

You should see this months, I’ve had to upgrade the box I normally have because they were overflowing. Having a clean out has felt brilliant though! I now have the giant bottle too, this took me about 2 years to use up so I have no idea how long the bigger bottle will take!
