I’ve been itching for this to arrive all week, whilst I’ve been off ill I’ve virtually been staring at the door waiting for the postman to give me a pick me up treat in the form of the Look Incredible April Box . Of course he delivered it on the one day this week that no one was home so an emergency trip to the post office was required to get my hands on it!
Smashbox Soft Light Duo – £15.00
Ahh Smashbox! I’m excited to see this as I haven’t actually gotten around to trying anything from Smashbox yet, it’s only just becoming a brand which is readily available in the UK and most big Boots seem to stock the line. This however has been discontinued from SB which is a shame as it seems like it might be a lovely little product. Two sided, 1 side is a blush whilst the other is a highlighter, and I’m guessing the two can be mixed for a glowy shimmery cheek in one too. I really like that the pans are separated on a side note!
Laura Gellar Spackle Under Eye Primer – £20.00
I was really happy to see a Laura Gellar product in here, I’ve been using the Spackle Primer on my face and hadn’t heard of her under eye primer so I’m intrigued to give it a try. With a metal tip I can imagine this will be cooling and soothing to the eye as applied.
L’Oreal Nutri Gold Silky Day Cream – £8.99
I’m not so excited by this I have to admit, I have so many moisturisers and after doing a little reading up on this one deciding whether to keep or get rid of I’ve heard it’s a bit heavier so great for dry skin but not oily like mine. I might add this to the giveaway box or see if my mum might want this.
Urban Decay Super Saturated Lip Colour in Big Bang – £14.00
Ooh an Urban Decay lip product, I’m a bit embarrassed to say that I don’t think I’ve tried any lip products from Urban Decay. This is a very bright pop of pink packed with glitter and sparkle, it’s not much of an every day shade, but having looked at swatches online it’s not as bad as it might first appear. These seem to be out of stock on every UK site and on Urban Decay’s too so I suspect another discontinued product, shame because this looks quite nice and I could see myself buying more!
Velvet 59 My Fair Lashes Mascara – £19.99
Last year I got my stash down to about 3 mascaras after making a massive effort to use some up, but it seems like I’ve had one in just about every beauty box recently. Add to that I’m not really using mascara at the moment as I have lash extensions on courtesy of my bestie means I’m not going to make my way through this stash any time soon. This might actually get donated too, after reading up it’s a natural lash that adds a bit of length, I like a lot of volume and a lot of length and given I have about 15 mascaras I don’t think I need to be holding onto something I won’t reach for! That being said looking at the packaging the brush is really interestingly shaped and I’m intigued, maybe I can pass on to my sister or something and get her to do a guest review!
I don’t think I’m quite as excited about the contents in this months as I was with last months box. It feels a little disappointing to receive a mascara 2 months in a row. The lip colour I’m less excited about because of the colour and I know it’s unlikely to get used – I’ve seen some other reviews and they got much better shades so just a bad luck of the drawer for me. That being said it still is a fantastic little selection, and there are some products that I’m excited to get trying, and I’m still expecting this box to blow My Little Boxes out of the water.
If you’re thinking of signing up, do so straight away – you can only order a month in advance so you can’t get your hands on this edition, but you don’t want to miss out on May’s do you!
