6 Skincare Products I’m Trying To Use Up

6 Skincare Products I’m Trying To Use Up

Here we are with the final edition in this mini series of products I’m sick of seeing products I’m trying to use up. If you missed Monday’s post I featured the Haircare products I want gone from my stash (link) and yesterday saw the makeup ones i’m hoping will soon be empties too (link)! So onto the last but not least – here’s the skincare edition… 6 Skincare Products I’m Trying To Use Up.

1. Ole Henriksen Pure Truth Serum

I love this serum, it’s the first serum that I’ve ever tried that I’ve full on loved – but for some reason this bottom third doesn’t seem to be going any where and it’s only a mini! No matter how much I use it seems to keep producing more, maybe I have a magic bottle. I probably will repurchase this, but I have another 2 serums I believe in my collection I’d like to get through first – or at least test out and see if I like – before purchasing another.

2. Organic Surge Hydration Serum

Another serum, and one I only reviewed a few days ago! I do again quite like this serum, but it isn’t great for under makeup as I find it a little sticky so it’s been my night serum for a good 6 months or so. I like this and it really works, but I want to swap in something new in it’s place but I’m determined to finish it up first!

3. Zoella Hand Cream

zoella-wonder-hand-hand-cream

I normally whizz through hand creams like there’s no tomorrow. I’ve used up two in my hand bag this month, this is so big and such good value for money (kudos points to the product), but I’ve just been looking at it for too long. Living on my bedside it’s too big to be a handbag product and too big to fit in my bedside beauty box. Which means it’s out on the side and I’m staring at it and wanting it go away. I do actually like the product, I’m just borderline crazy about staring at things for too long which is becoming more apparent as I’m doing this mini series.

4. OZ Naturals Vitamin C Cleanser

I’ve been working on using this up for ages, I do again quite like this product but I can’t rely on it by itself as a cleanser as it doesn’t remove makeup well at all so has become a second stage cleanser for me. I like the cleansers I buy to do everything so I probably wouldn’t rebuy this for that reason and why I won’t be that sad when it’s gone despite not hating it either.

5. Liz Earle Skin Repair Moisturiser for Normal/Combo

Most of the items in this series have been products which have been heavily used and are close to being at their ends, this is one which is barely been started and I know I probably need to consider getting a start on it before it expires! I got this with Birchbox points 2 years ago and whilst it looks a little battered from being shoved to the back of the drawer, I think I’ve used this only once or twice.

6. OPI Avoplex Exfoliating Cuticle Treatment

Another product which I’ve had for an embarrassingly long time – I remember buying an OPI Set from QVC whilst at uni and this was in it. I’m actually going to pop this into my handbag as I’ve been suffering with terrible cuticles this winter and hopefully this will help get them back into order. Being in my handbag I’ll be it will be gone in no time too!

On Monday I featured the haircare items I’m trying to use up (link), and yesterday I featured the makeup items that I’m trying to use up (link) make sure you check those out if you haven’t already. I hope you enjoyed reading the 6 Skincare Products I’m Trying To Use Up.

I’m interested in whether you have any products that you just can’t seem to use up no matter how hard you try, let me know in the comments what they are… or how many you have!

Have you done a review on that OPI Avoplex Exfoliating Cuticle Treatment? I’m curious about that!
Great goal to finish these skincare items – I used to be horrible about opening up stuff before using my current products up but I’ve been much better now.

No I haven’t! I will ear mark that to be done as I start using it! Me too, if only it stopped us stockpiling in the meantime eh?! Trying to think of a way/place I can organise everything together to make it easier for myself to see what I have it’s too scattered which is why products get lost for years!

Yes, buying new skincare is almost a compulsion for me! Just how many micellar waters does one person need at any point in time? 😛

At the moment I’ve just bought 1, as my only other is nearly empty. I don’t know how I’ve managed to use them all up. Cleansers and Face Masks, at least 15 of each!

I have wanted to try the Zoella hand cream for so long, but keep forgetting to pick it up! Is it any good? I would love if you could check out my blog and let me know what you think!

Hi Olivia! Thanks for commenting 🙂 I posted a full review of it here if you want to take a read 🙂 http://helplesswhilstdrying.com/2015/11/02/zoella-wonder-hand-review/ but in short yes it’s good and I would recommend it! It’s very large I posted the review in November and have used it every day before bed and its still not finished! Great value. I’ll take a look at your blog tonight when I get home from work with a cuppa 🙂 xxx

Ooh I should try one of those Ole Henriksen sets at Sephora!

Great post idea! I have a bunch of things I’m trying to use up too, I’m guilty of buying things and not finishing them if they’re not my absolute favourite. But I won’t throw them out or give them away either. It’s a struggle! 🙂

These all sound like great products but I am quite intrigued by the OPI cuticle treatment! My cuticles are in need of some love so maybe I’ll pick this one up and try it 🙂

It’s one I used quite a bit when o frost got it about 5 years ago but haven’t really touched it since, fingers crossed
It still works as it should although I won’t remember what it was supposed to do either! Xx

I’m trying to use up my products too instead of buying new stuff since they’re all so close to expiring, although after seeing this post I’m tempted to buy another Liz Earle moisturiser :p Jay x

I’m now aiming to have a really good sort out this weekend as everything is so scattered across my house, half used, used once not even started – and get everything together in piles, then box each of them up, i’m sure when I see everything together I won’t be buying anything for quite some time!

I can never seem to use up face washes! I have so many that I rotate and they just are not getting used up. They dont even work that well for me but I feel terrible just throwing a full bottle away. That and eye shadows. I told myself I’m not buying anymore make up until I use some up. My eye shadows last forever!

    • April 9, 2016 / 6:20 am

I don’t think I’ve ever used an eye shadow up, I’ve just allowed myself to know that’s impossible for me! Ugh cleansers, I collected all mine up the other night and have a Box of 12 only one of those is new! So need to get some of those used up!

Have ya’ll ever tried Rodan + Fields?! I started using it last year and just became a life-timer after trying SO many brands. I love it. Let me know if you want to hear my story or want more info!
