L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo Review

L'Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo

A few weeks ago you might have seen my reviews on the shampoo, conditioner and pre-shampoo treatment from the new L’Oreal Extraordinary clay line (review here). It’s safe to say I was thoroughly impressed with what I’d tried and I was itching to get my hands on the L’Oreal Extraordinary Clay Dry Shampoo which was proving elusive at the time of buying the rest of the range.

There’s very few dry shampoos from the British high street I haven’t tried and the one which has always set the highest bar is Aussie’s – completely clear with the first application, it’s not powdery or sticky and replenishes the look of your hair to being completely clean.

As a first impression the  has a lovely fresh scent – not floral, fruity or anything extrovert – it’s just a fresh smell that puts your hair back to smelling clean. It promises to deliver undetectable appearance which is true, when first sprayed in it does turn my hair white, but it brushes out to nothing, there’s not a trace left.

Where it then lets itself down is that it doesn’t do anything, I’m pretty convinced I could use an entire can of this and my hair would still look exactly the same as it did before I started. It’s a complete let down. I had wondered whether it was just me, but nope – I’ve seen other reviews of this saying pretty much the same.

You’ll see the conditioner and treatment in this months empties, and quite possibly this as it’s the only dry shampoo I have left now, and despite the fact it’s doing a throughly bad job I do plan on finishing this up still. If you’re looking at trying the range, I’d try the rest – I think they’re great, but I’d skip the dry shampoo.

So it’ll be back to the Aussie for me, nothing has beaten that yet. Although I am tempted to try the Tigi Bedhead Honey one, I’ve heard good things about it recently and it has me intrigued.

Good to know it’s a pass! Looked like an interesting product to dry. For a budget friendly option I enjoy the Tresemme dry shampoo. Now I will have to pick up the Aussie when I go to the grocery store next!
