Tigi Catwalk Your Highness Shampoo & Conditioner Review

Tigi Catwalk Your Highness

This review has been a long time coming, for some reason I just haven’t gotten around to writing up my thoughts on this yet, but thought it would be a good idea as the conditioner from the Tigi Catwalk Your Highness line might well make it into my empties at the end of the month as it’s almost all gone!

I picked the Tigi Catwalk Your Highness set up at a warehouse near where I used to work after they were on discount for £5.99 each or 2 for £10. Bear in mind these are salon size and normally have an RRP of something like £18 each I couldn’t resist. By far my favourite shampoo and conditioner from Tigi is their Honey and Oatmeal one which I haven’t had in years, but it smells divine and is really nourishing on the ol’ locks. Unfortunately, they had none of that range in so I settled on Your Highness, to add a bit of ooomph to my hair which pre-haircut in November was looking a bit tired.

The volumising effect of Your Highness left a lot to be desired, I found it added a slight lift to my hair – but the difference was very marginal. It’s nothing I couldn’t have achieved by blowdrying my roots with a bit of uplift. However, my hair is quite long, thick, and heavy – maybe the formulation is designed to work on people with much shorter hair than mine with shorter hair.

The thing I found most disappointing was that I couldn’t use this with every wash, If I used this more than once every 7-10 days my hair would get ridiculously dry on the second wash. Unmanageably untamable. I’d wondered for quite a long time what was causing my hair to be more unruly than it normally is, as it was taking me 30/40 minutes post-shower to comb through my hair, and so much damage was happening from having to pull and tug so much that my hair is now noticeably thinner as a result. Finally, as I bought different products and these fell into infrequent rotation in my shower, I put two and two together and realised that it was this that was causing the problem.

The trick to using the Tigi Catwalk Your Highness shampoo and conditioner up has been to use them infrequently and also separately to make sure I’m not back in the same spot again. The conditioner is now thankfully almost empty, and the shampoo I’m considering just binning off. Keeping my hair in healthy condition is really important to me at the moment more than ever, I don’t want to have to wear extensions on my wedding day. I’ve just bought the Lee Stafford Hair Growth range which I’m hoping will help repair the damage that this duo did.

Please let me know of any hair recovery heroes you have though, I’ll try anything at the moment!
