My Little Bubble Box – March 2016 My Little Box

The My Little Box review has come a bit later than normal for that, apologies for my tardiness to the people who seem to come and look at my blog each month specifically for that review – it arrived both a little later than some of my friends, then there was an item missing out of the box which still hasn’t arrived. But luckily a friend loaned me my missing item so I could photograph what was missing.

If you’ve been reading my Look Incredible reviews you know that my enthusiasm for MLB is starting to slide in comparison, as well as my thoughts on the last 6 months of boxes being very cream heavy. Last month My Little Box replied to their bombardment of messages raising the same unhappy feeing about creams saying that hopefully this month’s box would make up for it.

This month theme is ‘My Little Bubble Box’ which is lovely pastel coloured and gets me totally ready and in the mood for spring. I’m not sure where the bubble them actually carries through to the box however. There’s not a bubble to be seen unless we’re counting a bubblegum and a balloon? There was sadly no beautiful print this month – or at least not in mine, which is often the thing I’m most excited to see as I’m such a fan of Kanako’s work. Inside the first thing you’re greeted with instead is a balloon… with the slogan ‘Be Wild!’. So this pretty much went in the bin moments after these pictures were taken.

The next item inside the box was a hairbrush – which I was excited to see. It’s dinky enough to be carried around in my handbag, and feels hollow so is also lightweight – but sadly the bristles in this are so short it doesn’t do a lot to tackle my thick hair. Even putting my hair in a hair bobble using this to smooth and comb into place is a struggle.

Lastly for the lifestyle items, although all of them are beauty related this month – was my missing item. My Little Beauty makeup sponge. Shaped very similar to the famed beauty blender, this feels really dense and I just tried wetting it as I was cleaning all my other sponges at the same time, but – it doesn’t puff up or get bigger, it’s very solid and doesn’t feel like it would be great at putting makeup on. I may stand corrected on this but so far I’m still yet to be impressed.

Onto the bit we’re really most intrigued to see.

My Little Beauty Cheek and Lip Tint

I’ve never liked any products like this so from the offset I wasn’t particular excited and the colour is really quite odd. Maybe it’ll be more flattering on, but it’s an odd lilac pink shade. The brush on this is really odd, it looks like a brush – but it’s stiff and has no bristles, it feels very sharp for dabbing on your face or lips.

Garancia Pschitt Magique

If you’re thinking ‘erm what is this’ don’t worry I had the exact same thoughts and had to do some online research as the packaging was all in french and the accompanying card was being a little shady with telling me what it did or how to use it. From what I understand it’s a micropeel treatment that foams and you leave on your skin for only 30 seconds. Formulated to perfect and transform the skin, with natural ingredients including glycolic acid. I will admit that it does have me intrigued.

Givenchy Noir Couture Volume Extreme Mascara Sample

Probably the most exciting item in the box for me, is this mascara sample. I’m a high end mascara lover and I’ve never tried anything from Givenchy, it’ll have to wait for now as my Lash Extensions are still holding on strong – but the brush looks like exactly the type of thing I normally go for.

I’m more impressed with this box with others than I have been recently, but I’m still not as impressed with this as Look Incredible. I’m curious on the micropeel treatment, excited about the mascara and in all honesty will likely never use the blush/lip tint. This is £14.99, and Look Incredible is 5 High End products, all full size – for £18.99. I’m almost tempted to take the money which I spend on my Little Box and upgrade to the Look Incredible premium box at £35 which this month was worth about £130, contained a full size perfume as well as the full size makeup items.

If you’re subbed to MLB let me know what your thoughts are on the subscription this month.

If you’re thinking of subscribing I have a ‘My Little Box Archive‘ which contains links to all previous MLB’s in the UK – and the items inside, so will give you a good overview of what you can expect and how the boxes have changed.

It is really nice to read an honest review. Very often bloggers only write and tell about all the positive things, leaving the negatives out of it. Quite refreshing 🙂

Thank you! I always try to give my real opinions, but especially with beauty boxes, theres so much choice out there and we come so invested in the services to bring us a monthly treats!

I felt a little disappointed this month and so was curious to see if you felt the same! I am not sure about the theme and I agree with you in that the mascara was the best bit. xx

Oh phew I’m glad someone agrees! How long have you been subbed for I’m starting to wonder whether it’s because I’ve been subscribed for so long the cycle has gone round too much – after publishing this I could think of atleast 2 other lip and cheek products I’ve gotten in this box which considering there’s not that many products on a monthly basis feels high. Debating breaking a pie chart out to see what percentage break up it is 😂

I loved my March box. The sponge was quite good at blending fast setting liquid foundation & cream stick concealer. I’ve tried everything in the box, quite happy 😀 well, except the hair brush (that is going straight to the bin, I don’t brush my hair at all *LOL*). I didn’t get that peel treatment, will be good to know if it works well or not.

I’ve just spent 2 hours binge reading your blogs. I love them! I’ve just subscribed this month to MLB so was curious at past boxes. I was pleasantly surprised with this months and am looking forward to the others but looking at some of your past boxes there are some that definitely outshine others! Love your other beauty box reviews too! I am definitely thinking about trying another one! Xx

Aww thanks Rachel that’s cheered me up this morning. I’d thoroughly recommend Love Me Beauty which I unsubbed from in December – mainly because I was starting to see some products start rotating, but as a new subscriber it’s great as you pick the items yourself. But the one which is currently outshining the rest for me is Look Incredible, 5 full size products each month from Brands such as Bare minerals, nars and tarte. Don’t know how they’re getting the products they’re offering for only £18.99 a month but it’s worth every penny! Rachael xxx
