Nioxin Diaboost Thickening Treatment Review

Nioxin Diaboost Thickening Treatment Review

Before I start my review of the Nioxin Diaboost Thickening Treatment – a little backstory on how my hair has been. Back before having my hair coloured and cut in November, I was suffering with bad breakage and was noticing my hair was starting to look thinner – I have thick hair, and controversially I like having thick hair too, I never ask for my hair to be thinned out unless it’s going to help my layers sit better in places. November – January my hair was completely fine,  but I’m back in a position where I’m struggling again with dryness and a bit of breakage (I think mostly caused by the dryness) so this has been pulled out and put away a few times.

I heard talk becky talk mention the Nioxin Diaboost treatment in a video back in November and decided to give it a try. Described as being a treatment which instantly helps improve the thickness of existing hair strands – It’s by no means a cheap product – at almost £30 for 100ml, I’ll admit that I was kind of expecting miracles and wizardry for such a price.

The first thing that was disappointing was the bottle – the pump on this product just isn’t up to scratch – it took me a good 2 or 3 days to actually manage to get any product out. Whether that’s my bottle, or it’s generally just crap I wasn’t sure.

The next problem I found was that you did need quite a bit of product, as with each use I could kind of see the pounds each time spraying into my hair. The product is quite a thick, almost gel like texture – which means it doesn’t go very far.

Third problem – I really didn’t notice a difference in what it did – I sprayed this 3 or 4 times and thought – no I really can’t tell what this is doing. But thought it must be doing something, so tried it on half my hair only – and still no difference between the two sides.

I will use this up as it’s so darn pricey but I’m about half way down it been using it on and off since November and I have no idea what it’s done to my hair up until now. For a £30 product I’d expect to see a difference when I stop or start using it – or after a month straight of using notice effects and I haven’t.

I’d say save your pennies with this one! Let me know if you’ve tried the Nioxin Diaboost Thickening Treatment and what you thought if so.

Great review but it’s such a shame it doesn’t do anything!!! I’m constantly looking for products to thicken my hair too whilst it grows back! 🙁 Hopefully will we find something soon! Xxx

Yes, I’ve heard of these! Apparently the ones from Holland and Barrett are great! Not sure what brand though xxx

We stopped carrying this in my salon as we noticed most people returned it. Nioxin products typically create more growth at the scalp and work really well… This one just doesn’t perform as they claim.

Oh good I’m glad it’s not me, I bought it after seeing/hearing one rave review and didn’t do much research past that point! I’ve heard really good things about Nioxin but this has done zilch for me, wish we had the rights to return cosmetics here – my drawers would be much less cluttered!

Too bad this didn’t deliver! So pricey for not working as claimed… imagine if this bottle yielded 30 uses… that’s £1 per use! 😮
