L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Range Review

L'Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay Review

I’m sure I’m not the only one who finds being constantly blighted with hair with dry ends but greasy roots a incredibly frustrating situation. When I spotted the new L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay range I was already intrigued – clay in haircare? that’s new to me – when I saw it was specifically made for people like me who have an ongoing battle with the need to wash roots and have as little going on as possible at the top – but needs for ends to be moisturised and nourished constantly. I knew I had to track down the range immediately

There are 4 items in theL’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay range, a pre-shampoo treatment, shampoo, conditioner and dry shampoo – I’ve not been able to track down the dry shampoo yet – but I’ve been trying out the rest of the range for the last 4 hair washes and have some thoughts so far.

The shampoo and conditioner, are good – it don’t find that it makes my ends super smooth and soft – but it’s no worse than anything else either. Initially I couldn’t find the Extraordinary Clay Masque anywhere – and it took me a good few trips to different Boots and supermarkets to get my hands on it, but this is the product for me which transform the regime.

With other shampoos and conditioners, it does work – but not as well as it does with the rest of the set. Together they are a dream team. Day 1, hair normal – as I said before on the offset I found it was nothing special, Day 2, hair a little shinier – but no need for dry shampoo – a complete revelation as normally by this stage I’d need to dry shampoo the shit out of my hair, Day 3, Dry Shampoo needed, Day 4 – Dry Shampoo again, but still able to last until the evening before washing.

Normally I only get 2 days out of my hair, so 4 is almost life-changing for me – I know that sounds dramatic but I can sometimes be ruled by the fact that I need to wash my hair at ungodly times of the night so I have clean hair for work in the morning, so it’s like an extra two days of freedom!

I normally find that I need to keep switching up my haircare frequently as sticking to the same thing for months just doesn’t work for me – but I’ll be sticking to this as long as it’s working for me, I’ll keep you posted as to how I’m finding it.

Have you tried the L’Oreal Elvive Extraordinary Clay line yet? I’m looking forward to trying the dry shampoo… as soon as I can find it!

This sounds like a fab range! I desperately need something that will make my hair washes last longer, so I think I’ll have go give this a go!! X

I’ve seen this line starting to pop up everywhere and it looks great – my hair is in the same situation as yours. It’s a shame the shampoo and conditioner aren’t great on their own! xx

They’re fine there’s nothing wrong with them – they just become a dream trio together, the clay masque doesn’t work as well with other shampoos and conditioners, so it is something about the pairing of the three together!

I might look into getting all three then! Great review 🙂

I bought this in the hope that it would transform my oily hair but it has done nothing for me 😣. I’m glad it’s worked for you. Great review x

I should try this too! My hair gets SO oily and sometimes dry shampoo doesn’t do anything for me. And I don’t like washing too often either because then it gets super dry and frizzy :/

I relate to all of these things – I wouldn’t say it’s cured everything – but it certainly has helped reduce how many times I need to wash it, hopefully in turn it will help reduce dryness & breaking etc too

I’d love to see an update on this range in a month or two so you can tell us whether it made an improvement or remained the same.
